- After narrowly missing out on the Premier League title last season, Arsenal only need to strengthen in a couple of positions to tip the scales in their favour. Much like Liverpool around 2018, Arsenal should spend big on premium signings that will make the difference for Mikel Arteta’s men. In this video, Statman Dave takes a look at 5 options for the Gunners to sign in the summer.

I don't envy Edu, It's not easy to find 3-4 level raisers for just the right fees in this market but...he has to make it happen in order to beat Pep's mean machine. They've already added Savio to their attacking options😭😭😭😭😭

well actually, wouldnt be surprised if they went for an overlapping left back but it might have to wait until next summer. But even now there are links to Patrick Dorgu. But theyd need to shift Zinny, Kiwior, KT and Tavares.
Actually, it could be if Kiwior or Zinchenko leaves Arsenal will need one more to complete their back line.
It depends, if both Zinny and Kiwior leave then we definitely sign 2 LBs

Reason Martinelli didn't produce was because of the lack of support from mid, xhaka passing range was missed.
Calfiori In, can switch Zinchenko to that 6, or if Barca puts up de jong for sale, get him, 70Mil.
Get cover for Saka, a winger who can play either wing would be perfect and asolutely necessary.
That looks like 200mil right there. Go for the striker the following season, Havertz isn't clinical, but we have more urgent areas to address. Get the fringe players out and see if the market makes any last minute deals available

@@sachi5807 Do YOU watch Arsenal? Kai had a decent to poor first half of the season as he was playing in midfield. Once he made the move to striker in December he was much better. Went from 6 goals in midfield to 15 g/a in only 18 games playing up front. I think he's going to do well this season.

In my opinion, it is unnecessary for Arsenal to sign anyone else.
Riccardo Calafiori is more than enough.
Calafiori can play as CB or LB.
Calafiori can lead us to the PL title.
Tomiyasu and Timber should be both worried as LB to challenge Calafiori.

Timber’s gonna be fighting Ben White at RB. He’s gonna become his successor or something or he’ll be the bench player that can cover either flanks

Tomiyasu is primarily a Right Back. The player who's really would be threatened by Calafiori is Kivior. But why is no one talking about a Saliba back up? Are we forgetting what happened at the end of the 22/23 season? Where we played Kivior and Holding in his position and our season completely collapsed...??

Wait until Calafiori starts scoring as well. I think it's something he is going to improve on with Arteta guidance. People forget how many players scored for Arsenal last season. Something I'm proud of personally.
With Califiori we have 5 players that can play left back...6 if you count Saka, 7 if you count Nuno Tavares and 8 if you count Tierney. That is crazy. Someone, or two, is bound to go.
5 players who can play LB but not one can stay for fit for a week or would start for Everton 😅

Let's sign Palacios from Leverkusen and leao from Milan. That would give us more creativity deeper in midfield and a beast attacking player who can do special things and potentially be a bit like Sanchez for us
Or maybe Kudus instead of Palacios and turn him into a goal scoring box to box. He has good stamina, physicality and ball winning to adapt to playing deeper. He can cover right wing as well

I am concerned abt how you seem to know how Arsenal management can or can’t spend their £££££m. Or u probably like to think you do
I like how there's no longer any obvious way to improve Arsenal. Our team could literally improve in like 10 different scenarios. I guess what I am concerned about is, who can cover Saka and Saliba if they're unavailable? Those are the two positions that we heavily rely on and arguably quality in depth. Can Tomiyasu and Ben-White play in Saliba's position? Yes they can. But can we relay on them to play the same role in that position? Probably not. As for Saka, the Nico Williams idea is a good one, especially with Trossard being 29 years old and probably playing his last season with us.. Meaning, Martinelli may get frustrated with his limited minutes, but that's something he'll only have to struggle with for arguably one season, but it will also allow us to rotate Saka a lot more.
Nico Williams and Calafiori I think are essential. Getting a top striker and midfielder for a good price will be tricky in this market. Xavi Simons might be a good option if we are selling smith Rowe and Nketiah.
Victor Oshimen is the 9 we should sign and one of Musiala/Brahim Dias/Guler with Moreno/De Jong should be the midfielders we sign
For some reason I feel we need more technical ability (players who can keep the ball more for those UCL nights) and shopping La Liga would help a lot provide a lot of value to our teams ability to hold onto the ball more

I think calhanoglu would be perfect for arsenal, they need a quality passer in midfield to win the league
I'm kind of disappointed with this analysis. The fullback positions are well covered now and in LW we have Gabi and Trossard. Also Arteta made it clear that striker is not a priority. I would have rather liked suggestions about RW, LCM or DM. Suggesting Gyökeres and Williams just seems like you wanted obviously good players which Arsenal don't need so you have more content.
I think i agree wth the LB and Calafiori. They do need an u0grade on Zinchenko imo and there already linked to Calfiori anyway. But im curious wht would u say to Amad or Pellistri at Utd for the RW and Koopmeiners as a DM option 🤔
@@Amemji I liked that he did a segment about Calafiori but talking about players like Gutierrez is just unnecessary because we already have Kiwior, Zinny, Timber on top of Calafiori. I love Amad but there's no way Utd would sell him and Pellistri is more like an orthodox winger instead of an inverted winger like Saka, so I think he wouldn't really fit at Arsenal. Koopmeiners is extremely underrated. I really hoped Arsenal would sign him when Xhaka left.

Im also pretty sure ETH said Amad was part of his plans anyway i just thought it was an interesting choice, same wth Koopmeiners. Calafiori, Zubimendi, Eze, Xavi Simons, and Toney would be the dream. 250-270m outlay right there but I think it’s possible if we can offload homegrown talent ESR & Nketiah for 60m combined pure profit.

@@mnickiel09 Calafiori is happening, Zubimendi & Eze have been heavily linked & would be easily willing to join if we put the money down, Toney was linked but clearly has fallen out of interest but he’s publicly said he wants to join, we just aren’t interested anymore but I would still take him. ESR & Nketiah could easily fetch a combined 55-60m. The only “career mode fantasy” aspect of what I’ve said is Xavi Simons cause it’s been said that PSG aren’t selling him this window because of a clause where they get more money selling him next window, that’s it. But that can easily be bypassed with a loan & mandatory buy option. So basically nothing I’ve said is unrealistic, so stop being a grumpy casual fan, sure all of it happening in 1 window is unlikely but if we can do 3 of those which we should be doing at the bare minimum, it’s a solid window. It’s not out of the realm at all like you think it is.
I believe Ardi coglo is useful because we can use him as an 8, what do you think? 👍
I like the idea of Zinchenko as a 6 which has been mooted from people, but I’m surprised you didn’t talk about Maxence Caqueret! He’s been quietly one of the best sixes in Europe.

Its a good list but i think a bit unrealistic and to obvious. For starters theres no way Arsenal even have the budget to splash 200mill on 2 players. I think the only thing i agree wth is probably the Full back. Arsenal dont need a 6 theyve got Rice who's known for playing there even though he can do the 8 role. If they were to sign Guimares i think hed be playing as the 8 not the 6. But also if they were to get a 6 i think Koopmeiners would be perfect although im not sure how realistic it would be. Nico Williams to Arsenal is a transfer i jus dont see happenning especially not on the LW cause of Trossard and Martinelli. If anything they should be signing players for the other wing as a back up for Saka because of his game. Tsyankov who was your own suggestion in a previous video would be perfect. But also i think theres a case for both Amad and Pellistri as back ups for Saka wth Amad tbf being the more proven one wth both being pretty unlikely. Finally Gyokeres is jus not going to happen because of his price tag. I think theres an argument saying they maybe shouldve looked at Zirkzee aswell definetly being a back up to Havertz

Arsenal need a new defensive midfielder and a striker. Yes Rice has been brilliant but he's more of a 8, Rice Partey and Odegaard is the perfect midfield trio but Partey can never stay fit so he will probably be moving on this summer. Jorginho is very good but he is aging. Also a striker is what Arsenal have needed for a while, that for me is the missing piece in the jigsaw.
Arsenal scored the second most goals.just 5 behind City. Would you say Liverpool, Villa,spurs, Newcastle need a striker too ???

I'm SO glad to hear you say that Zinchenko might be considered for the DMF/No. 6 role. I've been saying for some time that his frailty as a LFB - when isolated against a RW - is not so nearly a weakness if he's playing in front of the defense with Saliba & Gabriel behind him. He's certainly better defensively than Jorginho. Zin's progressive passing skills are also excellent, CMF is his role for Ukraine, and he all but plays in CMF even when starting at LFB.

Lol zinny is a 8 not a 6. Arteta should save money and move zinny into the 8 or move Ben white up to 6, he has played as a 6 and has shown he can adapt. Preseason friendlies is a good way to experiment with this.
