Lindsay, I know I've said this before but being new to your channel, I really appreciate your reviews. I like that you take the time to actually use the products and experience them before presenting your opinion. So many channels open the items on camera and do not work with them before recommending them. Then we purchase it and it's disappointing. So thank you for taking the time and giving us the total run down on the products!

    • @thefrugalcrafter

@@ThunderStruck15 if they are getting really serious about watercolor I think I'd recommend fewer colors so they can learn how to mix colors, color theory etc. Also the 36 set of doodle goggles paints are different, a better quality paint so if you want a large variety or the meilang pretty excellent paints as they are more transparent.
If it were my kid and they were really serious about learning color theory I'd go with the dsniel smith 6 color essential set plus burnt seinna, yellow ocher and sap green. But if you are not sure and just want to encourage them and see if they like it any of the less expensive sets mentioned above would do well.

I want to see your seascape tutorial, especially if you think it's too easy for a tutorial. Your "beginner" tutorials are things I need to study for! Shoulda seen the one I did yesterday! Wait, no, actually you shouldn't, LOL, until I do it another 3 times. But yes, please do. It may actually fit my level, which I guess is remedial, rather than beginner, ha.

I saw an article about mixing watercolor with acrylic which I guess, why not and why not try? I also have some not so great watercolor I don't use since I decided to buy some higher quality sets so maybe people who are stuck with products they don't want to waste because they'll feel guilty (like lower quality watercolor) can play with mixed media and use it up :). Just putting it out there.

i always enjoy watching your watercolour reviews specially cheap ones as you're always found good points of them and encourage beginners.I also actually bought a cheap 48 pan set just like your but with a brand name of Magritte watercolor, i got them from china.i only bought them for tin and not for paints as i expected them to be chalky and bad but surprisingly they are amazing paints i wont think they are light fast or anything but they are amazing paints for practicing and i ended up in love with them.I always love to watch your paint testing art. its so beautiful. As i love watercolor more than any other medium i always like to watch all of your watercolor reviews and painting sessions. Keep on doing and trying more cheap watercolors too to try them out.

    Great review, as always!!🤗
I'm hoping you could help guide me towards a pallet? I've been painting (casually) for years with just acrylics, and I'd like to give watercolors a go. I'm quite familiar with color theory and would like to start mixing right off the bat, so having warm and cool primaries would be awesome!✨I've been watching (and learning from) your reviews, and I've got a few in mind. And in case price guides you one way or another, I'll tell you what they go for in Canada!
    So it's between:
    -Paul Ruben 24...$60
    -Sonnet 21 tin.....$57
    -Paul Ruben 12....$39
    -Mungyo 24..... $39
    -Meeden 48....$35
    -Van Gogh 12+3...$30
    -PrettyExcellent......$26
    -W+N Cotman 12......$26
    -Mungyo 12.....$23
    -Daler Rowney 12....$23
    _________
Any direction would be super helpful and most appropriate!!

Princeton is claiming to have stiffness of 3/5 while silver 1/5.

Hi Lindsay, Im thinking of joining three of these somehow... by removing the bottom palette flaps. Do you think I can remove the lids in the same way and attach them somehow so they close from opposite directions?
I'd love to have all my paints in whole pans all together. I have about 60 tubes. I use M. Graham paints, or else I'd buy a palette with many half pans but I can have the pans upside down in the palette when closed, a lot have layers of pans in the lid, so thats why I must make my own palette.

I have the Master's Touch set from Hobby Lobby and they have a strong odor which actually gives me a headache. Do these have an odor?

They do a bit when you first use them. Quite similar the the masters touch, intact they might be the same.

For your colorwheels, are they made with a stamp?

      Yes by waffle flower

I will have to look those up. I started watching your channel a couple of weeks ago and have noticed them before. I always just hand draw mine but a stamp would save so much time. Thank you!

Would this set work for your painting glass class? and if so, what brush set would you suggest? Thanks!!

      @thefrugalcrafter  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Honestly I'd go with the pretty excellent 36 set for that class as the colora are more transparent. Price is similar too.

@@edkitson8510 Sorry, here is a link to the paint: amzn.to/2ThSQJD and this is a good set of brushes: amzn.to/2HuvEoD
If you want a more pro paint I linked to my signature set at Jerrys in the supply list but these will get the job done too. The brushes I linked to are what I have in my signature set and I use them all the time. See you in class!

You did a review of the 24 set and the paints were Russian paints I remember...do you still have that review?

Yes, all the videos are still on my channel. The Russian ones would be white nights: pans: th-cam.com/video/g1jKLA5a6E4/w-d-xo.html and then a tube comparison: th-cam.com/video/mQrty_YOu0M/w-d-xo.html and I also reviewed their student grade sonnet paint: th-cam.com/video/9IQdGzLTXHA/w-d-xo.html
