In the mid 1960's, my mom bought an album my entire family loves, "Eydie Gorme and Los Panchos: Amor." This album was played so many times, my mom bought another copy. In 1967, I was five years old. I remember playing the album and sitting in front of the speakers. I was listening to the album and staring at the cover. I was thinking Eydie Gorme is so pretty. In the early 1970's, my mom bought a copy of the album on an 8-track tape. In 2005, I bought a copy of the album on CD. In 2017, I had finally found a used copy of the album on vinyl. I listened to it once. I bought a frame for it and I have it hanging in my living room with other framed albums by The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Santana. My siblings and I have different tastes in music. My siblings and I love the album, "Eydie Gorme And Los Panchos: Amor." This album is one of my favorite top ten albums I love and listen to alot. My favorite song on the album is "Historia de un Amor."
I'm about the same age as you, and my memories of this album are very similar. The older I get, the more I love that album and the pride it makes me feel in my Latin American culture.

Don't forget that the lead singer for the "Trio Los Panchos" in this video is no other than Puerto Rico's Johnny Albino (RIP) The "Trio Los Panchos" golden years were mostly while they had some wonderful Puerto Rican lead singers at three different stages of their career. It all started with Hernando Aviles, later it was Julito Rodriguez Reyes who himself was replaced by Johnny Albino.

What memories I have growing up listening to my Puerto Rican mother playing Eydie Gorme Y Trio Los panchos on the old but great 33 1/3 vinyls! Gorme's Spanish was so flawless, my Puertp Rican mother thought she was PR!
As a kid born and rise on N.Y.C. Alphabet City I remember listening every Friday and Saturday evening my Mother playing her Spanish albums and hearing Eydie Horne and Lis Trios Panchos , such a wonderful time in my life the momeries move me to tears . God bless my Mother .Sister Eydie and the Panchos .😪🤗 .

Grandes recuerdos de la década de los 60´s: Se dio la sinergia de una cantante angloparlante, seducida por las enormes composiciones latinoamericanas del momento, acompañada por el exitoso Trío mexicanos de Los Panchos, reyes de la música romántica desde años atrás.. Afortunadamente lograron ponerse de acuerdo, siendo tan famosos cada quien por su lado, para grabar varios LP´s de vinilo en español y dejar en video este estupenda participación en televisión. Somos afortunados de escuchar y volar la imaginación con tan tremendas grabaciones que van a quedar para siempre en la historia musical....saludos desde la Ciudad de México...

Una excelente interprete, tengo 38 años y crecí escuchando su música gracias a mi papito, adoraba cantar las canciones escuchando a mi padre. Es una lastima que ya no esté físicamente, sin embargo su música seguirá trascendiendo.

grandiosas canciones de nuestros padres, y una angloparlante cantando magistralmente canciones en español es sorprendente, una agradable sorpresa en su momento supongo, y hasta el dia de hoy se admira la super voz de esta mujer y que decir de los panchos uno de los mejores trios romanticos de Mexico .
Esa mujer sabia cantar. No como Selena quintanilla que quiso cantar como Linda ronstad que si cantaba con mariachi.

Eydie Gormé era judía estadounidense de etnia sefardí, en su casa hablaban ladino, o sea un español del siglo 16 con influencias del hebreo, griego, turco y aremeo que se habla aun en comunidades judeo-sefardíes de Sarajevo y en Turquía, por eso cantaba con fluido español.

When I was a kid and my parents would visit friends it seems they all had the same LP. Gorme in her thick knit sweater blue on blue background. It was everywhere.
