    WHAT A COOL IDEA!!!! I want to paint big sheets of cardboard, to use as "Sheetrock" , to insulate my metal storage building, but this idea of painting to look like paneling is a simple and super! Thank you for sharing this!

    Thank you for showing us how to make cardboard look like wood. I'm making a Book Nook at the moment, and I want it to look like an old Victorian library on the inside, so I bought a laser cut plywood bookcase that I glued together, but it looked too flimsy for a Victorian bookcase. I bulked it up by adding a couple of layers of foam board to the top and one layer to the base, and then I cut another piece to go on the back, because it didn't have a back to it, and it needed one. The reason why I'm telling you all this is because I need to make the bookcase look like it's made of hard wood, like mahogany or oak. Can I use your method here to paint my bookcase even though it's not made of cardboard. I've already painted it brown which just makes it look as if it's been painted with brown paint 😅!! LOL
    But I'd like to use your method if you think it will work. What do you think? Love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia

    Hi! Do you do all the painting whilst it's wet? Or allow to dry. I've got PTA props to make and I need the quickest method possible! Thanks :)

      Hi it's got to be wet so that we can blend the colors and have different color variation to achieve the wood grain effect. 😊

    Halloo... Can we use random acrylic brand for cardboard painting? What type of acrylic did you use?

    • @MOMDOESDIY
      @MOMDOESDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello..for cardboard I think it's best to use student grade acrylic cos artist grade acrylics are quite expensive..and also you can use any brand..

    That doesn't look like wood grain. It looks like paneling. Where are the loops and whorls?

    I did it myself with the woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
