- After about four months servicing my commercial HOA property with two large ponds, my nightmares played out in real life! Thankfully I purchased about $150 worth of different recovery gear after a previous mishap, so I was ready this time.
Oh and for all those that ask, the $7,000 is the approximate MSRP of the 36" BOB-CAT QuickCat mower you see. May or may not be what I paid for it and may or may not be what you would pay for one! ;)

lol, I've done that. But all the way in! Stop doing things halfway Brad! Comon, commit to losing it in the pond! hehe.(The Great Dane has been all the way in, deck completely under.) This is why we all keep a chain in the truck. :)
Oh jeez, I would not have known what to do if it went that deep. I mean, probably the same thing but I would have just been a lot more scarred! :D

You should add a come-along to your towing supplies. Some people call them manual winches. Most of them use a cable and not a strap. That way if you can't get your truck to the mower you can use a tree or similar as your anchor point.

@@CopperCreekCuts Did you find any come along's that you liked? If you get a good quality one you can use a cheater pipe for more leverage. They also make a gas powered winch, like a chainsaw with a spool instead of the blade. Those are expensive though, usually used in remote locations.

Just an idea. Maybe to prevent a $7000 accident, fabricate a compression brake for the tires? A lever arm you can bolt on and pull to apply pressure in case of a runaway.
Beyond my skill set or desire, but not a bad idea!

It seems that most times, the machines stop just at the edge, thank goodness. Not sure why more don't go all the way in. Glad you got it out with no damage!
Same with this one. I don't think it was me that stopped it, maybe just the change in angle of the ground/bank was enough to stop the movement.

Got to watch it around them pounds they can be slippery and is that a mulching kit on it I seen the shield on it
Just an 'eco plate' that blocks the discharge. So not a true mulching kit but some of the same effect.
Copper Creek Cuts Lawn Care oh ok I am thinking about making a shield to go on my shout with a leaver on my mower so when I am in neighborhoods I can shut it so I have less oh throwing a rock throw a window and I ex my blades so ain’t much clippings left any way

Did that Green Flotation Device, on the front of your mower, save your machine? Might need a bit more Duct Tape, before you try it again! 👍🏻 Glad you didn’t get hurt!

Nice save. Many years ago I was on a crew mowing house yards around a big lake, only access to them all was narrow paths. Guy got a mower in the lake there and only way out was man power. Luckily there was enough of us we could usually just pick the whole thing up lol. Question, On a Bobcat riding mower there are hydraulic releases that you open to allow the oil to flow when towing. Do these stand up mowers have that feature?
Thank you! Unfortunately it was just me and I am generally pretty low on man power! ;) They do, and like the Warped says you can see me lock them back up, but I think I unlocked them off camera.
What psi you run? I never go below 8psi
I think front tires are 12 and rear are 15.

Well, you've made me feel better about sinking my mower up to it's axles in some saturated clayey soil this past summer, about a hundred yards from my house where no normal vehicle would be able to get to it. It's the main reason I now own a come-along (fortunately it happened close to a tree line).
