Those words he says Wondered if a single soul on earth would care at all, miss me when I'm gone. I remember I was there once when I was a teen I was close to ending my life. Bt by the grace of God he saved my life. Thank you Jesus for coming into my life and saving me. This song still brings goosebumps to me every time I hear it.
This song saved my life when I was depressed and down it's weird how that works as soon as I put that gun to my head I instantly thought of this song...3 years later I have an amazing wife a 2 year old daughter and a 9 month old son and couldn't be happier
it took me so long to realize the old man, who was homeless, saved the guys life. The He realized after seeing the homeless man he had a lot more than he thought he did, and decided it wasnt worth it, their are people who are alive and have it a lot worse but they push through. This message is beautiful.
My sister and I are black women who grew up in Detroit, Michigan. We were poor and struggling. One of our parents was an alcoholic and one parent is disabled. Her and I use to listen to this song. It gave us hope to get out of our situation.
Emerson Drive should be much more recognized. In my eyes, they're iconic. I love their music so much. It's so moving and meaningful, especially this song. I literally get choked up every time I hear it, no matter my mood.
There are very few songs that can help me pull through something that hurts so much I don't know if I can take it. This song and "Stand" by Rascal Flatts are the only two that help me pull through and show me that there is happiness out there, that I can chase the sun and stand and see what I'm made of.

Wow this really hit home on a whole nother level now. I'm still trying to rebuild my life after a 2+ year heroin addiction. July will be 3 years since I touched the stuff and I have absolutely NO desire for it. The comeback is way harder than I ever expected. I burned a lot of bridges in my addiction so the help I wouldve had is not there. I also have my baby girl that I'm fighting for. And in the process of all this last Nov I lost my chosen sister/BFF. She passed away in her sleep at 48. I've definitely had my moments. Good and bad. I so relate to this awesome song now at 40 yrs old.. Don't judge people just because they sin differently than you do. Drug addicts have hearts too believe it or not.

It's really though being there when your family passes away, isn't it? I lost my great grandparents in 2012 and 2013. It was 4 years for my grandpa on August 5th, and it'll be 3 years for my grandma on December 27th. As someone who took care of them when their health began declining, I can say you're right; It's very very hard. And it hurts to be there, watching them. But there's a couple things everyone needs to remember: 1., They can feel you there. They find peace in knowing you're there with them. And 2., It hurts being there, yes, but if you're not, you may come to regret it for the rest of your life. Be strong, my friend. People need you. Wishing you well. :)

everybody has that one person that can make your day a little better. it can be a stranger or your best friend, it doesnt matter, but they are always there for you whether you realize it or not. hang on tight everyone. just wait out each day and look for the sun. you will find the light and you will be glad you didnt take your life.
When he says if a single soul on earth would cure it all miss me when I'm gone is haunting to me. I think we all wonder if anyone would care when we die but we have family and others who may not know us but they do. I've been through suicidal thoughts in my life. You may look at me and not know it. Like he says but it's there. But you can get through this. Those out there who are wanting to die you can pull through ya'll you are loved by God!
I've had my moment however not suicide I was in a horrific car accident and no one believed I would live and I got my guidance from the other side of life and I'm here today

When I hear this song today (I so badly want to perform it as a cover song to maybe help someone else who is in their dark place) ... it so reminds me that I should be thankful for LIFE and to never give up hope ... When I was in my dark place for the second time (a few weeks ago & within the last 4 years) I have hit rock bottom with losing all my material processions and my 2nd marriage, no job, trying to survive day to day with still no hope on the horizon. I have to remember how I felt when my dad was killed while performing his job, that I would never wish the pain & emptiness that I felt when I was 9 Years Old & that is what helps me from committing the sin that is not forgiven. I have a long road to recovery & I ask for anyone willing to pray for me to please do so, thank you.
I'll be glad to pray for you. This song is really touching. It encourages me to keep going no matter how hard things get. I'm glad that it inspires you also :)
Not long ago, a former friend sent me a letter apologizing for everything he did and showing that he had actually worked towards improving himself and being a better person. This was after years of him being incredibly bitter and biting at me for almost everything, on top of him blaming everything else for his problems and pushing away any attempts I had at trying to get him to open up to new stuff. He told me I meant the world to him and to look this song up and listen to it just once since his mom made him listen to it after he opened up about everything. He said I was the homeless man on the E. Street bridge and to talk back to him when I felt the time was right. Until then, I’m gonna keep this song in mind and when a few months go by and I know that his new healthy habits stick, I’ll come back to him. Because now when I hear this song, I have some hope inside myself that something good can be done in this world, because if I can make a person change like that and have them tell me I changed/saved their lives and that I’m the best friend they ever could have asked for, anything is possible.
You see them everywhere, people at traffic intersections holding signs asking for help. Next time take a good look, a honest look then ask yourself just how close are you from being in their situation? There are many people out there one paycheck away from standing on a corner asking for help. Many didn't ask to be in their situation but guys, shit happens and many times its at no fault of their own. These people are hungry, cold and have nowhere to lay their heads down at night. A very long time ago I found myself in a very simular situation, hungry and wondering how could I have gotten myself into this. I was not on drugs and I didn't touch a drop of alcohol even if I could. I got myself together and am now living a very comfortable life, I was one of the lucky ones. I guess all I'm asking is next time you see them dig deep in your pocket and soul and just help them out, anything helps even the smallest amount of change in your pocked or your pocket book. The reward you will experience will be the very thought that maybe tonight that person might go to sleep that night without their stomach aching in pain of emptyness. Just a little something to think about
But there's a much larger context that's stated in the title "Moments". You miss it if you only hear the story-line. That homeless guy wasn't always poor and helpless. He fought in a war, he had a family too. The depressed guy wasn't always suicidal. He'd gotten sober and fallen in love. We tend to judge people too fast, and we forget that we all go through ups and downs in life. That's what makes this song powerful. The homeless guy probably had nothing to live for, and yet he showed our man why life was worth living. Even in the depths of pain, loss, despair, sorrow, or hopelessness, we can find something greater. We're more than what we have or even who we are. Our lives are defined by the moments we cherish most.
Eve Zhang you couldn’t have gone any more broad in that analyzation. I feel like you tried to write something that you thought was profound but came out extremely contrived and cliche. Your name is Eve. Let me analyze it like moments. Before something. Boom. Deep.
I have loved this song for so long. Now I’m in a homeless shelter and I’ve owned 2 houses. You can never say you wouldn’t be in a certain situation because you never know
@MusicEqualsLife592 I think this song is a great message for prom. Cause all through out high school your always saying that you don't have this. Or why I am I learning this. It doesn't matter. Those moments are the ones you live on in the future. The moments were you are just sitting there with your friends and laughing, enjoying life. I am 15, have moved 5 times, and i realized that those moments are the ones you remember the most. :)
This song reminds me of my dad he last lots of money friends family 2 wives and a failed fiancée he doesn’t have much but he has me and that’s the only reason he’s still here he did everything for me and that in itself is a accomplishment and I love him with my entire being.
my mom allways told me even one little small smile can change sum1`s life.... she also told me a story of two high schoolers.... this one guy who was always getting picked on was tripped in front of the bus one day.... the other one had helped him pick up his books and they ended up walking away.... well on the day of the graduation the guy who always got picked on was the highest kid in his class (sorry i forget what it is called) and told the story of that day... he also said if he hadnt done
This song hits me hard too. I've been depressed since my 6th grade year when my grandfather died. I had ups and downs and then it hit me again when my best friend, not really did anything, but her emotions rubbed off on me. And i remember all the times she wanted to kill herself. But i was right there by her side, stopping her.
@143loveKayla you should be glad this song is helping people, dont be selfish and say their comments ruin the song, just ignore them. i am glad this song helps so many people
I kinda relate to this because one of my friends was talking about taking her life. She's 15 with a 18 month old daughter. I had to talk her out of it and explain to her that Hailey couldn't grow up without a mom. She still continues to talk about it but I just keep reminding her that her daughter is number one in her life. She's fighting to get her daughter back from her ex. That's the reason she's talked about suicide. I'm a suicide survivor! Hailey, Aunt Sarah loves you and will protect you!
I heard this song years ago. But only just now did I realized that the old guy stopped the young guy from committing suicide. The song takes on a whole other meaning.
2 years ago I was a witness of 2 of my best friends committing suicide and I couldn't stop them, and during those two years I've tried to take my life away but I always listen to this song and know that I can make my life and I stopped my one of my friends from making that mistake
I ove this song and can listen to it for hours! :)
One thing I didn't like about the video though was the spelling. Some words were spelled worng. (sorry) But I still love the song and want to say thanks for making the video. You put in a lot of work.

Just a little something to think about
Tina McIntyre dude this is about a man going to commit suicide stopped by the homeless man
But there's a much larger context that's stated in the title "Moments".
Boom. Deep.
I was listening to some music and this came on I was thinking bout life and if it was worth living this song helps
People need to remember this song when they pass someone on the streets... Don't ever judge ... you never walked in there shoes...
Hello Stephanie
I love this song! And it sure does bring back memories
I have loved this song for so long. Now I’m in a homeless shelter and I’ve owned 2 houses. You can never say you wouldn’t be in a certain situation because you never know
Love this song, great powerful message
@MusicEqualsLife592
I think this song is a great message for prom. :)
My son will be in jail 25 years I am 66 years old and he loves this song, I miss so much my Alf.
this song has a really powerful meaning behind it . thumbs up if you agree
This song reminds me of my dad he last lots of money friends family 2 wives and a failed fiancée he doesn’t have much but he has me and that’s the only reason he’s still here he did everything for me and that in itself is a accomplishment and I love him with my entire being.

Beautiful songs !
my mom allways told me even one little small smile can change sum1`s life.... she also told me a story of two high schoolers.... this one guy who was always getting picked on was tripped in front of the bus one day.... the other one had helped him pick up his books and they ended up walking away.... well on the day of the graduation the guy who always got picked on was the highest kid in his class (sorry i forget what it is called) and told the story of that day... he also said if he hadnt done
Your Mom is right..Please what she's taught you. She's lived a life she's never told you I'm sure. Nothing is easy.
This is a ridiculously beautiful song. JohnofAugusta, i couldn't have said it better...
this song cant be any more touching :(

2:53 until the end is the best part of the song.
Brandon Tuttle is
I kinda relate to this because one of my friends was talking about taking her life.
I love this song but it makes me cry bc they played it at my uncles funeral :(
Just remember! We have all had our moments!!
Not me
This song is so true though like it could really happen in real life and make you think about life in general.
It's sad that people think country music doesn't tell stories.
I heard this song years ago. But only just now did I realized that the old guy stopped the young guy from committing suicide. The song takes on a whole other meaning.
i finally understand what this means
Suffering suicidal thoughts is the toughest battle you ever either conquer or lose.
Love this song sooo much!
Hello Amber
I'm hoping someday I can listen to this song and not cry. It makes me miss my uncle so much every damn time.
Hello nessie
how could anyone hate this song?
2 years ago I was a witness of 2 of my best friends committing suicide and I couldn't stop them, and during those two years I've tried to take my life away but I always listen to this song and know that I can make my life and I stopped my one of my friends from making that mistake
