Ok ok my bad. By "tomorrow" I meant the tomorrow for the time I was filming this which was like 2 weeks ago. So you'll see how my interviews actually went and what happened after that!
Hey Maria, this is Dylan from Figma! I was really touched that you made this video - you're clearly such an authentic and positive person! Hope we get to meet someday and that you will consider Figma in the future. Wishing you all the best!! :)
Hi Dylan! 😲 Woah it's so cool that you watched my video!!! Thank you so much for leaving such a nice comment and I do really hope that I get to at least try to get into Figma again in the future 😅
Awwww this video is so cute lol. Great job on the process and you have such a great mindset! Rejection is a path for the future and I bet you're gonna do great.
@@maria_sitkovets_tech aw i had commented mid way thru--sorry to hear, rejections are no fun, but im sure youll land something great soon :) figma is suuper competitive! ive gotten rejected many times too
Hey Maria! Thank you so much for this video! Especially I'll be interviewing with Figma a week later. 'I have nothing to lose'. That's so true. And I'll always keep that in mind while climbing my mountains :)
when you said living in an immigrant household no one says they're proud of you 💔i felt that. you definitely should be proud! life is always gonna hand you L's, but it just makes those W's that much sweeter 💪
My mom says she's proud of me by way of blunt roasts in russian. So hearing someone actually tell me I was doing a good job by saying that I was doing a good job was literally a new feeling. I'm happy that figma handed me the L so I can work harder to earn the Ws you're right. And I'm proud that I actually got an interview because 100% was not expecting them to ever look at me since I don't go to a target school
These interviews sound so much more interesting than simple algorithm white board interviews (e.g. write a linkedList class)! Well done on your interviews! And honestly, after failing my interview with Flipp, I realized I really needed to improve on my DB skills. I spent some good months writing complex queries & playing with db configuration; and you won't believe how many times these months of practice saved my butt at my current workplace! You are smarter than me so you will move all the mountains in the world soooon
THANK YOU DIANAAAAA!!!! I NEED TO PRACTICE A LOT MORE. That's what this whole experience taught me. Yeah but my parents are also nice and show their love in actions not words I guess. They're white ppl but not white canadian/american ppl 😂
@@spacemonkey9080 awww thank you! Yeah I'm just too honest sometimes but I think it's good to tell people what I really think. And I can try that once I actually get good at leetcoding and using ctci 🤣 I do enjoy algorithms and data structures but it's a different thing when I have to force myself to practice them. But I did have a video in the "maria masters it" playlist about me starting to try and get better at those from last fall actually
Well in the video I'll post about all the places I interviewed at I did interview at a company owned by amazon 🤫 so you'll see soon! And lol literally everyone from york is getting into amazon this year! Finally we're moving up in the world. AND GOOD LUCK HARPREET YOU GOT THIS I BELIEVE IN YOUUUUU
Lol just some random ones my mom forced me to use. The company is called Visine. It was my first time using them because that's just how much my eyes hurt
