    This was a great video. I have been wracking this problem in my head for a few days and it is a simple solution to all. Thanks for this.

    Love the videos. Where in Aether can you see the park number? I only see it in HAMRS

    the only thing that seems to be missing with this is station locations for the TQSL to give credit for gridsquares, counties, cq zone, etc in LOTW. while some of those (currently) have no use in LOTW... things like States absolutely do... does Aether facilitate that in tqsl?

    Do I submit hunter logs individually if I get like one contact a day? Or can I submit them all from many days?

    • @hamradiotube
      @hamradiotube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As a hunter you do not submit any logs to Parks on the Air. That's all done by the activator. For your regular log, you can submit whatever you want, whenever you want.

    So you don’t change your location for LoTW when you activate?

    • @hamradiotube
      @hamradiotube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LOTW is such a dumpster fire to get to work in the first place, I could care less about changing locations. I did when I moved to Texas but that's about it.

      If you use QRZ for logging you can easily change your temporary location. Select your QRZ logbook and go into the "Logbook Properties" tab. You can change your location on that page. Download your QSOs of the day into QRZ, then select those OSOs in QRZ to be downloaded into LoTW. Then select QRZ to download those QSOs into LoTW. LoTW will now show your temporary operating location reflecting an accurate grid, coordinates, etc. When you are back to operating out of your home station, don't forget to go back into QRZ and restore your home location.

    Hi Mike this video is about 2 years old do you still run aether or RunLogNG?? Which do you prefer?

    Hi Mike...I have a question: I've been trying out Aether and MacLoggerDX. I must say that overall I am liking Aether much better in general...however, MacLoggerDX does have an option to put in SOTA and POTA information (summit/park references) into the logging process.
    My question: is it possible to enter POTA activation information directly into Aether and get the correct Parks references?
    Thanks Mike, Jim/AC3B

    As an alternative and not having LoTW creds stored on QRZ, one can simply import the ADI file direct into your log. Ham radio dude passed that one along. Great video, BTW, didn't know Aether could sync that easily.
    Side note any reason why do you separate the log files in HAMRS, is it just to ease the upload processing?

    Any way you know of to get the HAMRS log to a contesting format? This upcoming weekend is the New England QSO Party and I'm planning a POTA activation. I'm looking for a way to avoid two logs.

    Do you have to be a member of QRZ to allow the import directly from LoTW? I typically import my .adi into QRZ since I don't have a membership.

    • @hamradiotube
      @hamradiotube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not to import from LOTW to QRZ. The other way around, yes.

    What is Aether, you are using HAMRS. this dont make any sense to me. I am using HAMRS but cant upload to LOTW with it.

    • @hamradiotube
      @hamradiotube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Aether is my actual logging software (only available on Mac). HAMRS isn't meant to be your main logging software. Think of it more as an electronic pencil and paper to quickly jot down callsigns in the field. It doesn't have any more purpose than that. From there, you would then export your .adif from HAMRS, to your main logging software. Be it Aether, Ham Radio Deluxe, N1MM, N3FJP, RUMlogNG, or the myriad of ham radio logging software that is out there. Then, from that logging software, so long as it has the capability to upload your contacts to LOTW, you can then upload them to LOTW. Now, you could also upload your .adif from HAMRS another way. You would still need to get the .adif onto your computer if you are using a mobile device. There is no direct path from HAMRS to LOTW. Once you have the .adif on a computer, you could then use the ARRL's nightmare of a program they call TQSL to upload the file to LOTW. I would try everything in my power to never have to use that pile of garbage they call software though. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
