Hi! The app can also be installed on mobile devices as well (iOS and android). Since some users were having trouble finding the option I added a popup that opens automatically You can also find an install option in the top-left callsign menu (where you would also log out).
@@lorenzogiacomelli4353 Not a bad idea. After watching your video I downloaded it with the intent to try it out. I really like it, but the way I like to use radio I have to pass on it. I hunt POTA from time to time but not for awards. I think this logging program has more utility out in the field for the activators than the hunters in the shack. I would agree with you, that something with CAT control would be preferable if you are constantly frequency hopping.
Looks like a great app. Question, when you upload your logs, do they go to QRZ and or LOTW ? Also I saw myself in your log and my 2 fer spotted. LOL Jim K2WPA
I'm glad to get you in the log. Smart Logger doesn't have a log upload facility (yet), so you will have to manually send the ADI files to POTA, QRZ, and LOTW
The primary issues I had with Hamrs, besides the lack of new park number support is that it slowed way down if you logged over 200 contacts, the cursor would jump around if entered a partial callsign and tried to cursor back to complete it, and if you started to enter a park number in to the park field and then backspaced it, you wouldn’t be able to save the record unless you entered something into that field.
Michael another great video on a new logging program. I watched a POTA Official do a video on updating logs a few days ago and he said not to include the signal report. It was not required or used. all is needed is call sign, state, date and time. plus your park # of course. so why does everyone include their signal report in their logs. thanks
The POTA uploader does not require signal reports, so that information does not need to be present in your log files. You can still collect signal reports, and any other bits of information you wish to collect for your personal benefit, during the exchange. That's perfectly fine, the uploader just ignores it.
The grid square gets automatically filled in when typing the callsign (you can always change it). This works online and also offline! There's also a lookup option to update the Grid square (WWL in the app) and other information for every QSO
The WWL field is your grid square (I don't know why the developers chose WWL to mean grid, as it is confusing). When you enter the park number into your log settings, the WWL field should auto populate.
I have been using it for about a week, trying to use most of its features. The only trouble I am having is the respot feature. Wants me to put activator call sign, same same before the save and using the gear. What am I doing wrong?
