At the home center it tells me to install the untilitys app which is obviously already installed. The chrome cast corresponds now the device is installed and now im fucked because of this retarded app. Not only that but it didnt connect my wifi

Didn't find what I was looking for. In my cellphone I can see the cast icon, press on it and it start the "connection" but never actually cast to my TV. I'll ready restarted, rebooted AND factory reset the chromcast. Nothing helped. Any tips o advice will be appreciated. Thanks.
@melcatsss I found the solution. I bought a wifi/signal extender and...problem solved. For some reason, the Chromecast is the only device in the room that doesn't get good wifi reception 😑 Now, with the signal booster the Chromecast says "Connection: excellent" instead of just "good" as it was before. I hope this helps you and others.
Strangely my 3 gen Chromecast works fine, but my new google tv chromecast cannot stream movies from vlc on my mac. I swapped back to the 3rd gen and that still works perfectly. Why is that?
This really did work, and I gained additional functionality with the Tablo as well. Now, things appear to be seamlessly working. And, thanks for the Ethernet connection info; I had no idea, and will be getting one on the off-chance I'll need it later. Any idea if it is just the wireless capability that gets hosed? Stated another way, is it possible that hard wiring will solve/reduce the occurrence that it's all hosed up? Because it takes about 15-20 minutes (sometimes) to reboot both the local appliances as well as the internet connection (dedicated wireless via central tower). If I can avoid all that time (especially if the spouse has requested we watch something), it would be wonderful!

I recently got a new router from my ISP the new router has Wifi 6 on it, but other than that I believe that's the only difference. When I try and cast something It'll attempt to connect but never actually connects. I can see the devices in my cast list, but can't successfully connect (all the time). Sometimes it will connect other times it won't. I've noticed while it's spinning and trying to connect if a toggle on and off my wifi on my phone I can often get connected to the Chromecast after that. My wife on a different phone has the same issue and the same trick with the wifi helps with connecting (doesn't always work). When I got my new router, I modified the default SSID and password to be the same as my old router, so as to not have to re-connected all my devices. To me this clearly is a wifi issue. Verbal casting from my google homes to Chromecast works fine every time just not casting from a mobile device. Any advice!?

I have had mine with Google TV for about 2 years and sometimes the entire screen will be colored in green. Everything is there and it's connected to my wifi but everything is tinted in green. I have no idea why. I unplug the device and plug it back in and sometimes it's still green and sometimes it's fixed. Do you have any idea why it would be doing that? Also I can't keep my soundbar connected even when I turn the TV on and off. The soundbar is LG and so is my TV.

After being told to disconnect for it to move to the next prompt, I manual connect. It tells me it cant connect and continue after being told to retry, failed, retry, failed, retry....you see where this is going but obviously theres a conection there before I break in and then chromecast starts uploading info and restarts. Now its saying its almost done. Youve got to be joking. Now ive got an upgraded screen with time and weather
I have multiple Chromecast speakers around the house ranging from Nest Mini's to Google Home speakers and a Chromecast Audio. The Chromecast Audio is connected to the stereo and provides the best sound so I set it as the default device for music and audio. I don't have the Audio on all the time, only when listening to music. I noticed the other Nest speakers weren't responding on the first command and I had to repeat myself 2 or 3 times for it to respond. Turns out Google home doesn't like it when the default speaker is turned off so I switched the default back to the Nest Mini in the kitchen and everything came back to normal. Hope that helps someone!

Reset button on the Chromecast wasn't working, so I unplugged the power cable and plugged it back in. Like magic. All my apps work again.

Mine worked until I got a new router modem. it finds it but says there's no Internet,??? first gen, did reset it ,same issue,?
Full reset on gen 3 after you hold the invisible button down process , pull out the usb or no reset l found .

I have had mine with Google TV for about 2 years and sometimes the entire screen will be colored in green. Everything is there and it's connected to my wifi but everything is tinted in green. The only thing that works on mine is the mute button and the tv power, which, for some reason, mutes the tv.
Mine won't allow me to install apps it's the Google TV one HD
