Kofi this is a rich culture in display, that notwithstanding I think Ghana as a sovereign nation is allowing the ashantis to be more powerful than the other states. Ghana has a flag for which we are all proud of why will the ashantis be allowed to promote a different flag. If we allow this to continue we will wake up one day and the ashantis will not be with us again. Even though we cherish the display of culture let thread cautiously. Because of politics our leaders are not saying anything. We live to see
You don’t know history?Who told you Ghana has allowed Asante to be powerful? Ghana brought Asante to the world right? Did Ghana, the 67 year old country institutionalized the 400 year old Asante? During colonial times there was this flag( during the reign of Prempeh II) . Asantehene receives invitation to the outside world in the name of Asante. They were influential because history favors them and conquered so many lands. There was a Gold Coast and Ashant territories and northern territories until Yaa Asantewaa war. Till date the whit man still recognize the Asante Nation and that’s they visit the seat of government(Accra) and subsequently visit the capital of Asante(Kumasi)

I don’t know where you from but your submission was always good until you started writing stuffs that seem like you’re not much abreast with Asante history, when did Ghana come into being ? I urge you to go back and read more about the Ashanti history because Asante has always been there before the nation Ghana. You can also display the flag and emblem of wherever you are from and it is not against any law. Stop the little little jealousy and hatred and embrace the good things. Do you know how long the Asantes have displayed their flags and emblem ??
