Idk, it it's faster, then it's perhaps because either a calamity change or a motherload of melee speed modifiers

Yeah, so it's because of a mod called "Global Stats Modifer/Editor" (one of the two) that allows you to tweak stuff like defense, damage, health regen, and whatever else
