Raccoons deserve more love. Not saying they should be pets, of course this was a rescue anyway, but I think a lot people mistreat them in the wild. Not sure if it’s how we’re taught growing up but I hope videos like this change things. Same goes for possums.
Racoons' sheer level of intelligence is something that has been really surprising to me to learn more about? We don't have them here, but I've seen quite a few vids lately featuring them both as urban wild animals and as rescues, and they seem to have both a strong sense of humour and some pretty amazing creative problem-solving skills!
I imagine they probably get mistreated fairly frequently in places where they're more commonly seen as as "pest" animals, so I'm glad wildlife rescuers are sharing stories like these ones? Hopefully it helps develop more empathy for free raccoons. Always appreciate the sensible disclaimers C.B. channel includes too, re. non-domesticated rescue animals and what's best for their welfare!

I know raccoons and l love them. I believe they would make great pets because they actively seek human company and really try to get into our houses. Sadly my government is not animal friendly, so that is not possible. Watching this video showed me how well raccoons adapt to family living. It made me smile.

Oh WOW!!! This is the first time I’ve seen the “Zip Line” approach used with a CH animal!!! How wonderful is this plan?!?!?!? That’s the cutest little raccoon ever - watching him move in his harness and zip line. He truly is as free as he possibly could be!!!! Raccoons are very intelligent. For 10 days after getting one of my cats, years ago, I continued to find my cat's bowl of dried food empty, every single morning when I woke up. This was perplexing as the cat was only 3 months old. The bowl was in the kitchen. You guys can guess what happened. Every night, after I went to bed, a Raccoon entered through the kitty door leading into the kitchen and helped himself to anything and everything I left out. Luckily he/she couldn't open the fridge, and never thought to open the cabinets! Raccoons don't have thumbs, but are capable of opening nearly anything they put their mind to by using both manipulating paws. Cute to see one raised with puppies; cause he thinks he is one!
All animals change their behaviour and get more friendly, when they have plenty of food.
Even humans gets wild when they are hungry. :)

I love raccoons. Aside their goofy manners, i like how easily they can get along with different animals. But it's especially hilarious observing how they beat dogs' and cats' expectations of a fellow pet-friend xD To a dog, it's the perfect buddy from a different species. To a cat, an absolute nightmare cuz they even more hopeless than dogs when it comes to standing still lol. No such thing as personal space😂 Thanks for uploading! Raccoons get attached very easily 😌 I had one and he treated me like I was his favorite tree. He stayed attached to my hip and went everywhere with me

My family had a baby raccoon we raised,
Bluffer was an angel as a pet,
Until he reached adulthood, he became so aggressive he bit grandmas finger and was mean,
We lived at the edge of a forest so Bluffer went on his way,
We saw him the next year with is new family so we all were sad and happy.
