@@angstrommanagement3016 absolutely, we cruise at 18-20knots with our 20’ Tahoe 75hp Etech. We run a 17 4 blade aluminum prop also calll with any questions and thanks for your comments and interest Mike 727-455-5576 pontoonhydrofoil.com
really like the concept, I have a 99 sylvan 20' with a Yamaha 50 4stroke, rear is low motor rides to low, max 4800 rpms, it might do 18mph like is, tried several prop 11x 10.5. looking at the pontoon Glide center mount to raise buoyancy 650lbs. Does the foil drag bottom first in low tide ?
Thanks for your interest. Foil is no lower than centerline of shaft when motor is in normal position and idling. When on foil doing 24-62mph you actually require much less water. We have some under deck videos here also that show you foil draft underway. Your boat may be a bit slow to realize 25% returns in speed. Our threshold for min speed is generally 20mph for normal foil and 18mph for our offshore series. Check them both out pontoonhydrofoil.com hope that helps
Big California type kelp reacts Like birds in an airplane engine, not good for efficiency especially if the kelp is dense. Seaweed and grass no problem, we generally are able to steer around. I’d watch our vids of traveling to Bahamas and back with 20’ pontoon 75hp and VARAFOIL you will under deck shots of lots of seaweed ( think they call it sargasm) and we generally stopped, backed up to clear and resumed. This takes between 30-40 seconds for us. Call if you have any more questions, hope that helps, Mike g
Not Ignoring You But I have asked Owner Directly and I know he keeps boat in paid storage area near his HOA. My notes show he tried 3 and 4 blades but not sure where he settled as his family likes to tube. I will answer upon receiving his answer.
pontoons are notorious for getting caught by thunderstorms, just 7-11 mph could save a really bad scenario for unfolding

What about kelp or seaweed?

Which prop size did you settle on?

You didn't show anything, just talk. Not helpful.
