Independent probe into Telkom Towers

- Public Works and Infrastructure Minister, Dean Macpherson, has launched an independent investigation into the procurement and subsequent renovation of the dilapidated Telkom Towers Building in the Pretoria CBD.
The minister conducted a site inspection- at what has been described -as one of the department's problematic facilities.
The building was procured to serve as the South African Police Headquarters in 2016, at a cost of nearly R700 million.
Officials say to date, over R200 million has been spent on renovations and other services, but the building remains empty.

It’s very concerning that DPWI/SAPS bought this property for that much in 2016, paid more on it on renovations and repairs but they aren’t yet to occupy it since then… ANC corruption has ruined this country over the years!!
I'm an architect I can say this building can Last forever if they are properly refurbished and maintenance I worked on some aspects of the empire state building in new york it's amazing. Same examples can be found in Cape Town, London even Braamfontien . A lot of corruption and looting is taking place.

I worked in a government and had to visit police stations in the line of my job.
Some of them were disgusting.
The one had the roof blown off in bad weather. So the police in that section had to double up the undamaged section.
To this day I am not sure if it has been fixed.
Then I was at another police station where the toilets were out of order. They were using the toilets of a shopping centre near by

Guys i am from Gauteng. Pretoria used be most beautiful and clean city South Africa especially the CBD and Sunnyside. Telkom towers was the pride city after the SARB tower. Now a nyaope and foreigners playground. Black political leadership especially the ANC and it's tripartite allies created a bad imagine for black leadership to the rest of the world as corrupt and stupid. I am angry cause i grew up in Tshwane and watch the city being destroyed

I understand a hesitation to believe politicians, but the DA run Western Cape is run very well compared to the rest of the country. After living most of my life in the ANC Eastern Cape, there's no denying that the Western Cape works.
