    Amazing video! Can you show us ways to mount the lyra to the ceiling at home? Or any recommendations? Thanks!

      Thank you! You need to be so careful when you're rigging, in this studio I have a truss installed and in my old studio I paid a rigger to install my rigging as I'm not knowledgeable enough to risk doing it myself. Sorry I can't be more help!

    Awesome! Do men do these rolls too? Or are they only for women (you know why)?

    • @UniqueAerialists
      @UniqueAerialists  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha! Men should be ok with most of them as the hoop should always sit on the side anyway! Just be extra careful!

      @@UniqueAerialists Thank you for your answer! It's a problem for me because I would like to try lyra or silks but all instuctors and students in my area are female and are unable - for obvious reasons - to relate. So I'm kind of afraid that I can get hurt if I do what everyone else is doing and then suddenly - bam - I'm on the floor writhing in pain and all the girls staring at me blankly or, worse, giggling. Would be pretty awkward.

      Press your front leg against the hoop so the hoop doesn't slide up or down your thigh as you're rolling :)

    The tricks are actually called
    1 scissor rool
    2 pull over to straddle
    3 paraqueet rool up
    4 sit rool
    5 running man to running man
    I’ve bed doing pretty hoop class for 4 years and know the world known names

    • @raythething9112
      @raythething9112 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it also depends on the studio, in my studio we call the scissor roll a millwheel

    I love u and NO hate, this is just one of my pet peeves, but it’s...Lyra ñöt äêrïåł hõöp

    • @UniqueAerialists
      @UniqueAerialists  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Like many things, it has different names in different parts of the world. I'm from the UK and the majority of UK based aerial businesses (studios, blogs, spin city, performing aerialists etc) call it aerial hoop, whereas I think in the USA it's more commonly called lyra. It's also known as aerial ring and cerceaux. None of these names are wrong just because they are different to each other :)

    • @aerialtiger7146
      @aerialtiger7146 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the same pet peeve my main reason is because it takes less time to write lyra
