My wife and I lived in Alaska and visited all these places...when we were your age.....love going back and seeing 'us' experienceing Alaska for the first time. through your eyes
This a remarkable episode, thank you so much. I am a huge fan of your videos, especially these Alaska ones. Now I don’t have to go . I think it’s called living vicariously through your adventures, good and bad. I tell you, when you are 70, like me ,you will be so glad you lived it,and recorded it. And can relive it all again! You all are just too cute and engaging, love you!
My wife and I are amateur radio operators, so we monitor area amateur radio operators that support local emergency management and public safety. I'm also a retired emergency manager, police officer and EMT out of Oklahoma. Disaster planning and preparedness is very familiar to me. Also is our preparedness cache is a digital trunked police fire and EMS scanner where we can tune in to most public safety radio transmission.
Dear Hanks it's what you know and how long everything is I live in the Northeast in Connecticut and we know when things are going to get bad we know when hurricanes are going to hit we're ready to hunker down you got to know when to hunker down and got to know when to move or went to evacuate a lot of times people evacuate and they really don't need to do it we are in the Northeast it's called we get heavy duty snow and a lot of blow and things going on John Chalker Waterbury Connecticut CC 🙏🙏,👼👼🪔🪔👒🎩🤠🤠🥾🥾❤️❤️🇺🇲🇺🇲
Really enjoyed this video, the music you had with the video was perfect and your wish to see a Bear was even better than you could have wished for seeing that momma Bear 🐻 and her three Cub's ♥️👣🐻 the scenery was beautiful too. One place I wonder if on your itinerary is Soldatna.?
Great video guys!!! When I was working out of Dutch Harbor several years ago, we had a tsunami warning that required ALL vessels to depart to prevent damage. All residents that weren’t on high ground had to go up in elevation. Sooooer coool on the seeing the bears!!! I just want 2 know, did the bears 💩 in the woods🤔🤔🤔 👍😃🍻
We started watching your videos when we looked for camping with a cat. We actually bought a Grand Design travel trailer Imagine xls 22be bc of being able to put the litter box in the bathroom. 😆😆 we love GD! We enjoy your adventures. Make plenty of memories while you are young!!! And from us , who are married 45 yrs.... laughter is the key to a long and happy marriage. 🤗
Another great Hanks video! Yep, this one night I was at work in the New Orleans area and we were talking about My vacation the following week. My boss and I were listening to a weather report that the weather was going to turn sour for the first couple days of my vacation (staycation really, we weren't going anywhere), but it wouldn't be too awfully bad. Two days into my much needed vacation this thing called Hurricane Katrina came along and whooped our pee-too-tees. What I'm getting at is we NOW take weather warnings very seriously. I'll be getting home from work next week and I'm planning on replacing the China bomb tires on our rv with something less explosive......blah, blah, blah. I babble. Stay safe Hanks! Seeeeya!
We took the train from Fairbanks to Anchorage and saw bears, moose, etc plus a nudist camp. We have a cat stroller we use to take them with us when possible even walmart
I’ve been fascinated by your faces when it’s “go time”. The accident emergency and the weather scare show you two “on point”. I’m believing you’re top shelf ER nurses. Your utube channel is growing so fast I’m wondering how much longer you’ll be nurses. It will be a loss to the medical world but your success in everything you’re doing is great to be a small part of and see.
We travel full time in our rv and I have spent this summer working o organizing my supplies. It was so frustrating when we would be stationary and I couldn't find the product I wanted to use. My love of organizing has been a blessing this summer.
Nee-Nee - Look at it this way you got some warning of an impending event. Even if it turned out to be more or less a false alarm. Most weather-related events give you some warning. You need to be in earthquake country and get a 5.0+ without any warning. The good part is you know you are alive afterwards.
More fun in Alaska!! Here are some cute alternative names for some critters you will see. Moose= swamp donkeys, grizzly or kodiak bears = timber pigs, deer = ridge runners, black bear= (bee) hive maulers, skunks = fart kittens/ cats, squirrels = fancy rats, racoons = trash pandas, coyote = scrounge hound. In case you didn't know.
Yo Hanks! Love your videos! Please be careful with the warning signal you are getting from your truck regarding your trailer brakes. It's rarely addressed correctly by just adding de-electric grease. We had the same issue with our Grand Design Reflection. That message "ding ding ding" from the truck drove us nuts! RV dealer couldn't find anything and ditto with the Chevy dealer. Everybody, and I mean every good intentioned fellow RVer, told us it was in the 7-way pin connection. We replaced the connector, but it still kept on dinging! Last year, we finally found a mobile tech in Yellowstone that exposed the problem. Turns out the insulation on the wires running to the brakes were worn down to bare wire in spots from the constant rubbing inside the axle tubes. We would get the message, "check trailer brakes", followed immediately by "trailer connected". The message would be intermittent, but when it would start, it would last for what seemed to be an eternity, then just stop. Since you are running a Solitude, you could have this very problem. Note: when the mobile tech replaced the wires, he ran them on the outside of the axle tubes, and zip tied them in place. Easy peasy! Hope this helps.
Same pull over law in WA. Also, we used to call our dog’s crate at home “jail.” It was hilarious. We would tell her “Go to jail.” And she’d happily go running in.
We just say go in and our chihuahua just goes in. We call it a kennel if we talk to each other. We add a blanket over it and Lucy feels completely safe.
I had to laugh out loud when you asked 'Do you have a cat?'. I picked up two Maincoon kittens a while back, had no carrier for them and put them into pillow cases for the short ride home. Of course they both got out and scurried all over the inside of my VW bug. At one point I actually had to pull off the road, because one was under my gas peddle. Great memories. Good lessons learned. Those brown bears were a real treat! Thank you for sharing.
Greetings from Nazareth PA. Ive only been a subscriber for a short time. My wife and I just started looking into buying our first RV. I came across your channel and we just love the chemistry, LOVE, content and production quality of your channel. Top notch! Thanks Hanks!
We were in Alaska this summer, Even camped next to you guys in Valdez. Used Star Link almost every day for work. It worked great. The more remote the area the better it worked.
Lovin' this trip...I will mention that holding up 5 vehicles behind you is a violation in some of the Pacific NW states, too...and not all that much enforced...
Russian River is where I saw my first bear when we were fishing. We stayed at Stoney Creek Park in Seward before. So glad yall got to see some bears from a distance. We just got back from Alaska this week.
Great video. Dream trip of ours some day. I had the same issue with my Chevy HD with the trailer brake system. After trying the dielectric grease, replacing the brake controller module on the dash and then looking into replacing the module under the bed of the truck. I ended up rewiring the brake system wires on both axles under the camper. I ended up finding a wire that runs inside the axle had frayed right where it comes out of the axle before connecting to the brake drum on the trailer. Which in turn led to occasional alerts on my dash board over and over and over again. After rewiring all of this, problem solved.
I never just “keep an eye “ on severe weather warnings. I prefer to error on the side of caution. Loved this video and Seward , Alaska ,beautiful place.
Hey Renee, that picture of a guy mowing with a tornado in the background was here in Alberta, Canada. It was in Three Hills. I moved here ten years ago from San Diego, California and that about sums up how serious people take their lawns here. It always make me laugh!! We get 3-5 months of lawn here, so when we have it, we baby it!!
I can back you up on the traveling with cats, we have two one sleeps under the seat while we travel and the other one sleeps in a square cat house that sits on the back seat, our son sits back there with them. we also take a litter box with us just in case but most of the time they done need it. Every now and then Cinder our girl kitty will come up and sit in my lap to take a look out the window and get some love.
In northern New England snow storms come and go. Just stay home or inside until the roads are cleared and has stopped snowing and blowing around. We listing to the local weather man. Shows year around on top of Mount Washington. Make sure you bring your jacket year round.
We were in Cheney WA. and got a knock on the door. (FIRES) Evacuation, level 3... Go Now. WOW, it took a minute to sink in but husband like no time to panic. ... Go.
Fished the Russian River all the way to the Kenai River. Yes I had fish stolen from a bear and seen many. Had a Huge Black walk down the fenced path and had to run half up the stairs. We did have our bear protection with up.
The fish and the bears were awesome great video you guys are great I can’t believe my big trip is coming up in about two weeks the end of September going into October for two weeks going to Tennessee.
You did the right thing. It is better to safe than sorry. I used to own a sailboat on Pamlico Sound in North Carolina, and you would not be believe how people took their sailboat out with small craft warning.
For your trailer connection that keeps dinging, Dielectric gel is to stop corrosion BUT is non-conductive insulator,, use MG Chemicals - 8481-1 Premium Carbon Conductive Grease
Hello you two, boy are we with you on so much of this episode. Traveling for first time with Henry , our Tabby main on mix cat , we’re experiencing the meow. Last year we were camping at the beach in Ian hurricane and the local campground told us “It’s not going to be that bad” but we could move up to the cabins ( well it flooded the whole beach area and knocked out the bridge ) 😂 covered the roads with the beach sand ... say it ain’t so! Part of the life !
The guy mowing the lawn with the tornado in the background is actually from Three Hills Alberta Canada. He didn’t know it was coming until his wife took the picture and told him to get to the basement. In Alberta we are part of tornado alley. We get a good tornado at least once a year.
Just discovered your channel and am loving it! With my wife and 4 children, we hope that we'll soon have an rv and do some traveling. I'm envious about how you've done so much, so far. 😉
Very nice episode guys!!!! My love to you and Dexy! ❤️😻 Yes!!! Weather warnings are to be taken seriously 😳. Here in Connecticut we are holding our butts for Hurricane Lee and how and when it will turn safely to sea rudder than pummel us if it doesn’t. I agree with you about keeping Dexy in is carry case . Much safer for all involved when in a vehicle. And yes most definitely, cats are NOT dogs. Beautiful photography guys! Trout and Bears 🐻 another dream of ours to see on the road in the future!!! Nice hike ! And yes Carl! There’s no more CD players in cars or trucks this days unless you install one and is a messy business doing so since everything in a new car is supper wired and blue tooth electronics and computer mambo jambo! We just got a Chevy Silverado Duramax and the console screen is insane! Something for you to look forward looking for a truck in your future is the DEF port hole is next to the gas intake ! Much easier to pour in! Stay safe ! And keep the sunshine 🌞❤️👍
My pets are leashed (dogs) or caged (cats) in the car. I have got them trained not to go out the house door, but they seem to think they must race out the car door. Pushing my feet out of the way to squeeze out past my feet to force themselves out the door first. Did I mention I am the driver?
Hey Hanks', I really enjoy your videos and am really interested in your Alaska adventures! Regarding the trailer warning light/buzzer you're getting, I hope the dielectric grease on your trailer connector continues to work for you. If it doesn't, check the ground connection where your truck to trailer pigtail connects to the trailer (probably in an electrical box tucked up under the hitch box area). I had fits with this same warning after a trailer dealer put a new pigtail on my 5th wheel, during a long trip, of course. I finally checked this connection, tightened it up, and never had a trailer warning again with that trailer. It seems like a rule that if you have a weird, intermittent electrical problem, it's a bad ground connection somewhere. Hope this helps! Y'all have fun out there and stay safe!
More than likely loose pin connectors and/or corrosion build up if you didn't have grease in there before. Great suggestion on the ground wire though. Could be it.
Cool listening to these Alaskan town names because my folks left Indiana and pulled their camper up to Alaska and to the Article circle and back. They were gone 2 months. Had a blast boon-docking some nights along the road. Feel like I’m on their trip with them during your trip.
Ok, I'll let you know one more time. Dielectric grease is a must. However, it is non-conductive and prevents corrosion only. You need to make sure the individual pins are all making good connections. Clean/ scrape off the existing corrosion and ever so carefully, slightly bend the pins so that they make solid connections. I'm a professional truck driver and fellow RV'er. Just sayin'. I'm glad to see you hit Kenai. Beautiful, no? If you are going up to Fairbanks definitely take a whole day for Pioneer park, you won't regret it. Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down!
Just loved this episode! I’d like to just be planted it this beautiful area. I would be terrified taking the RV but am sure it feels better being with friends.. safe travels ❤
my truck did the trailer wiring thing and what i did was just take a small file for cleaning up trailer plugs and file some shiny contacts and no more issues
That was just awesome!! Loved seeing the bears and salmon jumping upriver!! Can’t wait for the next video!! Keep them coming!! We love it! Happy Camping and Safe Travels!❤️❤️❤️
About that. Not many slow drivers will pull over to let people pass. It's not really enforce. Thank you for pulling over. I know it was appreciated
“We’re keeping our eye on it” are the famous last words before you hear “oh crap!”
The tornado behind the guy cutting grass is from Three Hills Alberta , Canada , north of Drumheller Alberta .
Came here to say that! Howdy from Hanna, AB - about 40 minutes east of Three Hills 😂
Ditto 'lawnmower man' is from Alberta 😂
Tornado shot was Alberta, Canada. We Canadians love all things weather. 😅
Awesome BEARS and SAMON jumping, going upstream. Tthanks for sharing. Beautiful!

Such a cool couple….really enjoy your videos because you are so real!!!….plus as a Chevy person I love duramax!!!

When we lived in Louisiana it was Hurricanes and Tornadoes, moved to WA it was Tsunamis and wildfires, now in New Mexico it’s ONLY wildfires lol. 😅
The dude mowing his lawn was in Alberta. Glad you are all safe.
Dielectric grease is for anti corrosion- but it also inhibits conduction 😮
Please spray the trailer connections with Deoxit spray ( brand name ) and then the dielectric grease. Have fun!
NO...be safe...don't be sorry and you don't need to apologize for taking care of your family. We love you!❤🙏Stay safe! Your friend in SC, Jane🥰

No - new cars don’t come with CD players and when I asked if I could get one added, they literally laughed at me. I was so disappointed.
That was incredible! Salmon AND bears!!
😂 I have a phantom of the opera that looks like yours!!
Christine! My favorite!

Hello Hanks. Ready freddy.... glad your safe. Better that than sorry you ignored it. ❤

Safety first! Always put Dexter in his cage, good for you!
He is precious and must be protected. ❤

Nice music selection for the river bears
Loved watching the fish jump and the bears play.. beautiful scenery.
Glad you enjoyed it

Beautiful hike. Thank you for sharing.
I used home dir for internet and loved it everywhere I went, not in Alaska. I was all over the East Coast and it never failed me.
Yay! Saw moose and grizzlies! What an adrenaline rush! ❤

Nice footage and great music today. #ThanksHanks
My wife and I do not call our dog’s kennel a cage either. When we have to put Liberty in the kennel, we tell her to go to her house.
Hole😂
We call Buckwheat’s kennel a cage. He LOVES his cage.
Our pets are children. We never want him not to be safe. We want him to always be happy.
😅
Our dog's favourite place in the world is in his house. We have to keep it latched shut all day so he'll stay out of it. Lol
Love the let Dexter roam free in the truck comment. Yeah it's hard to drive with the cat on your face, up on the dash, stuck to the ceiling...
You can split your plug prongs and clean them with water and baking soda

Omigosh I literally teared up when Carl's dream came true to see the bears catching salmon ❤
Great video. Thanks! Love the bears!
Riding the Rapids would have been Supper Fun & Nice.
HA! Carrier………
From this day forth, Dex lives in a CAGE n’LOVEs it😂
Thanks!
Thanks from the Hanks for the super thanks! #LetErRip!

Very nice episode guys!!!! My love to you and Dexy! ❤️😻
Yes!!! Weather warnings are to be taken seriously 😳.
Here in Connecticut we are holding our butts for Hurricane Lee and how and when it will turn safely to sea rudder than pummel us if it doesn’t.

Thanks for the video, we did an Alaskan cruise back in June. You have convinced me in retirement it’s a must do trip!
Guys be sure to get a “classic pizza” at Moose’stooth on your way back through Anchortown.
My pets are leashed (dogs) or caged (cats) in the car. I have got them trained not to go out the house door, but they seem to think they must race out the car door. Pushing my feet out of the way to squeeze out past my feet to force themselves out the door first. Did I mention I am the driver?

That was a fantastic video, AGAIN.
you guys should absolutely stop at Jamf and Jasper national parts in Alberta, it is amazing views and so much wild life.

Here in north east Illinois (Chicago Area) we get quite a few Tornado warnings…. Yep.. We “keep an eye on it…” LOL!
