Lifelong Ok State fan here. From my perspective, I am excited to see Utah in the Big XII. Every team has rabid fans. I for one, won't disrespect a team, but rather enjoy watching these young men compete and give their all on the field every game. Do I want the Cowboys to win every game, every year, hell yeah! I watch several podcasts from Big XII fans, just subscribed to this one, I like the different perspectives given for other teams. It's interesting because both teams are feeling disrespected. Both teams have great coaches and both teams have stellar returning production. This really might come down to location, health and weather as the deciding factors. Go Utes.

I am so very tired of the old arguments coming out of "some" Big 12 fans about Utah. I have heard it so often I just feel like I need to talk about it somewhere.
1. Truck Stop conference came from Bill Walton and was spread on BYU forums (Google tells us so)
2. A lot of Utes fans were big defenders of the Pac 12 (you know that conference that the Big 12 fanbase so willingly slagged for 2 years and your conference sought to destabilize after USC and UCLA announced they were leaving. (now that is water under the bridge to me but I feel like it is needed to be said to give context) Big 10 was the instigator and enabler of the PAC destruction but Big 12 fans cheered on (as they are now doing about the ACC).
3. BYU as a group of 5 independent is not a Power 5 conference team don't worry about the Pac teams I doubt there will be an "adjustment period" to big 12 football.
4. Calling Kyle Whittingham "Crazy uncle Kyle" because he pointed to the truth that all the current conference structure is in doubt is just ignorant at best.
5. And finally, other than Colorado no PAC 12 school coming to the Big 12 wanted to be there over other conferences. Yes Utah though we would be a good fit in the Big 10 because of how the team has been formed and played over the past decade. Quite simply TV revenue not record is why we were not invited (even half heartedly they way they did Washington and Oregon)
6. I think most Ute fans have made peace with all this, I certainly have, and I look forward to playing teams like OSU because I do think it will be a real good game and I am pretty sure it is the most difficult game we face until UCF due to playing TCU and Arizona at home.
I really hope this stuff comes to an end when the real games start but every time there is this "why aren't grateful enough" stuff pops up it really really annoys me.
Dude you hit the nail on the head. A lot of the Utah hate is self-consciousness on the part of this conference’s fans knowing that a) this conference is probably next after ACC implodes and b) Utah is one of the best teams in this conference despite being a newcomer.

To those Utah fans, I am glad you all are in the conference. But I do not think you guys are giving the competition and conference credit. I expect Utah to be good, I just know that the way the Big 12 goes, I will not be surprised if things do not go the way the media/fans predicting domination for Utah. But I cannot wait until the season, this is going to be fun!

The biggest thing in my opinion, every team in the league cares about football , so each game is like full stadium hype and excitement because about 10 evenly matched teams have chance until about 8 or 9 games in to win title, then you start to see separation..so its crazy how you find yourself watching all the competitive games in conference across the country with new opponents and environments. I am curious to see the new 4 corner schools style of play integrate.
This guy is such a baby, and just goes to show how insecure a lot of big 12 fans are. Nobody except for a small minority Utah fans thinks that Utah is at the top of the conference as a program. And plenty of CFB reporters/publications have picked non-Utah teams to win. However, every single big 12 fanbase gets irrationally angry when someone even suggests that Utah could win the big 12 and make the playoffs. Not that we will, but that we COULD.
Well said! I've been saying the same thing for months. The Okie guy thinks most or as he says a significant portion of Ute fans are trashing the BIG12 ....not true! Most Utah fans have accepted a long time ago the death of the PAC and not be invited to the B1G. We're excited for a very competitive BIG12 and are happy to be part of it. My advice to BIG12 fan bases stop complaining about Utah it looks like you're insecure, the few loud irrational Ute fans on X do not represent the majority of Ute fans.
It’s like when the new kid moves on the block who’s bigger, stronger and better looking than you and he’s coming to steal your girlfriend. There’s other new kids who want your girl too but this one can actually take her and you know it. That’s Utah to the big 12.
Cody is the perfect example of how Utah fans re being treated in the B12 forums. He comes out of the chute raising his voice and getting riled up. Within the first 30 seconds He's telling how good OSU is but Utah is getting all the attention. Then he blames it on Utah fans.
This is how Utah fans get treated in the B12 every day.
As for the game in Stillwater, the Utes will surprise them. Humble pie will be in order for the cowboys. OSU boasts last year's returning players who were rated at 108TH on offense and 125th on defense. With those crappy stats, they still made the conf championship? Is the conference really that weak? Last year the Utes were no 8 against the run. They don't know what's coming.
Not sure if utah fans are all like you, but osu was 30th in total offense. Bowman was 15 in passing yards and gordan was number 1.

@@robertpearce4316Alan bowman has 15 Passing TD’s and 14 interceptions. That is TERRIBLE lmao. And he’s not even a dual threat QB. Literally only had 24 total rushing yards last season, with a long of 13. He’s not good bro. Oklahoma state has a great O-line and RB, but the most important position is one they are severely lacking in, just like the other OSU (Ohio State with Will Howard). Cam Rising is way better than Bowman.
@@neverbackdown1918 oh I hear you. He set 2 years. Like Cody said he left pocket early and threw off back foot. He lost weight worked out built up arm strength. Addressing those issues. In his last game against a&m threw for 435 yards. The guy had a 600 game at tech. Return with most yards thrown at 3400 last year. Real only played 12 games because of the split games early. Oline only gave up 13 sacks I think alan had 10. Second year in the system. I agree needed more td passes. Pics not that bad for 500 attempts. Guy is smart. That 13 yard run was a td in bedlam.
We have issue in the red zone kicked 10 fg in the ksu and ku. 6 were red zone fg. Brought 2 guys who will add with the best receiver healthy will help in red zone.
I do believe he was gun shy, he had serious injuries at tech.
Same with the defense second year in New scheme.
The big 12 experience is going to be so much better for us Utah fans. How annoying was it when playing at the California schools and only half the stadium was filled? The fans in the big 12 are so much more dedicated like the Utah fans. And yes, we’ll have the annoying usc fans replaced by the even more annoying byu fans.

Utah has recently won two PAC 12 championships while the Cowboys have played in but lost two Big 12 Championships recently. Both teams have plenty of returning star power. Both head coaches are long time legends at their schools. The Cowboys are at home, so for me that gives the Cowboys an edge to win this game. It will be close and suspenseful 'til the end. Much like a Bedlam game.
Yeah as a Utes fan I’d give ok State the edge right now for sure, but would never count us out. Also we went to back to back pac 12 titles and lost few years before becoming back to back champs. So for ok State there time seems to be coming now.

If Utah’s QB Rising can stay healthy then CFP bound the Utes should be. The OSU road game will be their toughest challenge, even a loss to OSU they can still make the Big 12 championship game. Unfortunately my beloved Cougars will be for a long long season.
Very much looking forward to this game early in the season and the overall matchup. That said, this Cody guy is extremely defensive. He's gotta lighten up.
This game will be huge. I honestly think they (Big 12) front loaded the schedules to give the teams a better chance at having higher rankings come the end of the year. Also, it looks like we could get Gameday for this so a lot of eyeballs on Stillwater for this.
One thing I'd like to point out about OU having the most wins in the conference: Utah beat their old head coach not once, not twice, but three times in a row and with his heisman trophy QB all 3 times.
Come on guys don't get salty when someone doesn't jump on the utah band wagon. Utah plays better when the odds are against them. Let people say what they want, we'll let the Utes do the taking on the field. Utah played against THE Heisman winner Caleb Williams and made him look like the chump that he is. Utah will be fine. Utah isn't South Alabama... I think the BIG12 is going to have issues dealing with Utah's style of football. If they stay healthy, I feel they are a shoe-in for the BIG12 champion. That being said, I think the BIG12 is going to be wild this year. Also, I'm not a Utah fan.
Gundy is a great coach and gets the best out of his players, but this year just seems to be all Utah (this coming from a Tech fan). I mean between the two QB's, theres no denying Cam is way better than Bowman. If Cam can stay healthy, then this is Utah's to lose.

I've talked too a lot of utah fans. I have found that utah fans love talk about utah accolades, if you question it you are crazy. Not showing respect. I have given utah the same respect as vegas by saying utah wins 10 games. If I talk about 8 loses in 2 title years or baylor having an easy time running, im crazy.
I'm on alot of other teams sites utah and ksu is the most sensitive.
Most Utah fans aren't on Twitter on comment boards. Just because you are on those sites consistently doesn't mean that represents a lot of the group. I got spit at by a Oregon fan on the sidewalk in Seattle. Most Oregon fans aren't spitting on people, but that guy is a bad representation of the group.

Alot of talk about utah is the 2 titles. 8 loses in those 2 year. Each year only 2 ranked teams. As a fan of football i see that as weak. Best team in a powder puff league.

@@littlebig3720 lol picking a stat and say it doesn't work. Over all record big 12 leads. Utah had 11 wins and lost to a 7 win texas team. Big 12 had 3 top 10 teams in 2021. I still go back to Utah won 2 titles losing 8 games. Byu won 5 games one of those years.

You got to admit the pac12 are all over the place. All the teams have spent years in the bottom 6 of the pac 12. Look at washington they have a span of 2 years with 1 win this century.

Utah is a good team, it will match up with ksu and osu with another 4or 5 making runs every few years. On the future can you say utah will stay there. How long will Kyle be there. It's always a crap shoot get a new coach.
