Through examples from scripture, we explore the difference between anointing and gifting, illustrating how true anointing comes from reliance on God, while gifting is a skill developed by the individual.
The process of anointing is symbolized in the Old Testament by the preparation of anointing oil, which involved crushing and altering ingredients to release their fragrance. Similarly, believers today experience crushing in areas like fear, pride, selfishness, and ungratefulness, especially through worship. As worship becomes a vehicle for crushing, it releases the "Oil" of Confidence, Humility, Crazy Love, and Favor, leading to a deeper connection with God’s presence.
