      Do you also 'appreciate' dictators who answer honestly about their atrocities? The EPA has no business making "standards" or "regulations". If he was being totally honest, the EPA is a non-elected body engaged in lawmaking (ie: utterly 100% unconstitutional). They may call their policies 'rules' or 'standards'... but if you break them... armed men show up. So these are in fact laws, but called by other names to skirt the constitution.
      Federal laws come from our ELECTED congress... state laws come from our ELECTED state legislatures. And bureaucratic rules, policies and regulations come from.... tyranny. These are unelected, unaccountable shadow government puppet-people that normally like to hide from this kind of scrutiny.

      I agree, however, I do not believe her that the average cost of an electric vehicle is $66,000 per year. I think she meant that is the average purchase price. When she says the average cost is $66k per year and compares it to annual salaries of $44k it makes it look like it is impossible to afford the annual cost of owning an electric vehicle. The point is that if someone making $44k - $58k per year has been saving for a new car and is able to purchase an electric vehicle, it is no more or less affordable to keep one. This may have just been a slip of the tongue. But it is easily misinterpreted the way she presented the numbers.

    • @raulthepig5821
      @raulthepig5821 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@jeffreymatter3620 I did not catch that at first. Probably a slip of the tongue. Many cars are $66k to purchase new not just EVs. It is not that people don't want an EV, most people can't afford to run out and buy a new car period. And I don't want to especially when some gas bag in Washington says I should. Why don't they reduce our taxes so I can afford a new car once in awhile? Then maybe I'll buy an EV. Politicians should get the h.ell out of our business and let the free market decide. They are always pushing some doomsday scenario to get into our pockets. Sorry for the rant. But I am sick and tired of government meddling in our everyday lives.

We don’t buy brand new cars anyway and I consider us as middle class. We make good choices on our finances (or try) so buying a new car that depreciates great,y isn’t in the cards for us. An EV? Call it a protest but o don’t like the govt telling me what to drive and using my tax dollars to subsidize. Government isn’t the answer. The market is the answer. Not the cows. The grass they're fed.
      It's similar to how grass decomposes, but at a slightly accelerated pace.
      A decomposing field grass releases higher volumes of gas than a field of grass eaten and digested by a herd of cows.
      My understanding of the exact science may be a little loose, but being here in England and hearing and reading about the Republic of Ireland proposing a 250,000 cattle cull to reduce methane emissions in farming and agriculture, the studies have taken a slightly altered path over here, and are now focusing on the emissions ratios between naturally decomposing grass wastelands and that of farts from cows digesting their feed.

      175,000 per year and he hasn’t got a clue. We have all been hearing the environmental disaster that is upon us all for decades now. Yet, we are all still here. There are many ways to cleaner fossil fuel energy and in fact fossil fuels are much cleaner than they were years ago. Electric vehicles are not the answer. How about disclosure of how much pollution and harmful emissions electricity causes. To produce electricity there is a lot of emissions from the dirty sources needed to produce electricity. Wind power and solar is simply not enough. Affordable energy and affordable EVs is a great question, since we all know neither is affordable to average Americans. So easy for entitled, privileged, spoiled politicians and elites to say, let’s go electric.

    I have never been asked by the EPA or any other government agency about anything, and I don't know anyone that has either. The bureaucrats are getting paid more than elected officials. That is about 3x more than they should. With little to no practical experience, this is appalling.

      What exactly is the alternative presented by republicans? Deny climate change is even an issue and deregulate to the point of environmental destruction. I agree with this woman's points on the problems with our current approach. And why shouldn't high ranking bureaucrats be getting paid a lot? Don't we want a high salary for important jobs?
      Whether or not they are a best fit for the role is a different argument. But slashing the pay 3x will just kill the quality of candidates applying.
      You have valid concerns but where I can't agree is the general republican party approach to the EPA. Under Trump they did substantial damage to the structure and effectiveness of the EPA. I have yet to see a good alternative presented by any high level government leadership on how to approach it. Likely because one party is in absolute denial of the gravity of the environmental problems we have and the other party is happy to virtue signal for votes.

Even if it's 90,000 per month it's far too much for what she does, let alone what he fails to do and fails to know. They are paid too much and lie too much. Applauding him for talking (however nicely or honestly) about the EPA making "standards" is like applauding a dictator for being honest and open about his atrocities.
And bureaucratic rules, policies and regulations come from.... tyranny. These are unelected, unaccountable shadow government puppet-people that like to hide from this kind of scrutiny. We need a president who will FIRE THEM ALL.
