Garithos showed us that he has balls to go against an invading and near endless undead horde to stop it from becoming too much of a threat unlike Arthas who just spent his time defending Hearthglen.
Lord Garithos may not have managed to make a second base at the northern gold mine, but I loved how in the end he sent a whole train of workers to collect gold from there on foot during the final assault.
You made this campaign epic. From the music choices to dialogue with Garithos being an ACTUAL competent commander. This is amazing. Can't wait to play the full thing.

I like how Garithos here is basically “pompous and often rude but competent when it matters” commander, sort of a very “old timey military” style, as opposed to more knightly theme of Uther and Arthas.
@@MrVlad12340 I've come to the conclusion Uther was trying to definitely lead Lordaeron into something more progressive, by having Arthas under his wing likely wanted to mould him into a piece of kindness and passion, he already was a court flatterer (especially with his history w/ Jaina) so when he returned Arthas to Terenas he'd be a peacetime king, where Azeroth was stuck under two grimdark wars that made the people bitter and jaded (which is why a lot turned to the Scourge as cultists out of hatred for being sent to die against the Orcs). A peacetime king in waiting with lots of issues and no war experience is exactly what Nerzhul wanted. A commander like Garithos would have probably turned Lordaeron around into another war against the Cult of the Damned and likely it could have resulted in more civil war and purging but it would have survived, instead of 90% of its occupants being turned into bone, ash and blight. Uther let his own pacifistic teachings into Arthas right when he shouldn't by all means DO that especially with the Orcs and whatnot still going around and it backfired hard. His failure cost the High Elves their kingdom and pushed them near extinction, 90% of mainland Lordaeron, a Legion foothold with warlocks now seen as a legitimate contender to the rest of the mage clans, cost Dalaran be destroyed several times over almost pushing the mage clans to extinction, plus the dwarves and gnomes were NOT in a good shape to deal with the Legion. Really they all threw in so hard with the sexy Night Elves by the end of it they still almost ran the risk of losing.. all because Uther wanted to make Arthas into a peacetime king and ignore his valid complaints at approaching the Cult of the Damned with war footing. Uther also failed with the Light, given his feeble answer was to refuse purging Stratholme instead of suggesting a quarantine. He also failed to do the minimum: a demon is in Stratholme converting the populace into zombies and he.. walks away?? No wonder Arthas turned from the Light, the Light was fucking POWERLESS and would shatter any Paladin's faith in it after the only recourse is their great champion says "I walk away from this problem and you've crossed a terrible threshold".
This was my favorite game back in my younger years and I played it a lot, but only now do I realize that Cannon Tower left no corpses from its kill so the Necro can't animate it. Amazing

In this custom campaign mission the undead bases have been set to stop producing units and heroes once the timer hits 30 minutes, look closely when he goes to attack them, that's why he wiped them out so easily.

I imagined that the requirement of not losing more than 60 recruits in the background of the mission is due to the fact that Garithos had to maintain the defense with only the garrison of Hearthglen, while the barracks used the time gained by the marshal to train and equip the new recruits of the village. Thus, after raising levies in Hearthglen, he gathered a force capable enough to counterattack the undead bases in the west.

Honestly, Medivh had no idea what he was talking about. Stormwind is fine, Stromgarde is fine, Kul Tiras is fine, Gilneas is fine. Dalaran is fine. Only Lordaeron was really lost. And Theramore, the shining hope for humanity in the west? Nuked by the orcs, who we were supposed to unite with against the "real threat". Turns out, the Horde was the real real threat all along.

Epic mission. I lost it when Garithos didn't just survive but charged for the counter attack. Had to go back and find these episodes manually. TH-cam for some reason skipped a lot of these when it's set on autoplay. I thought you skipped these.
I really like how Garithos heals much faster than a regular paladin. Something that should have been in W3 years ago. Also, I really like this idea of presenting the campaigns from the other point of view. I really want to see something like this done with Orc campaign but with Grom Hellscream or Cairne Bloodhoof. I'm biased but I really like the idea of having similar campaign but with different units, changes and such. Much like in the InsaneMonster's Re-reforged or SevenBlood's Revamped or "reverse race" campaigns.
This is literally what I anticipated and I was not dissappointed at all. Also, I feel like you could bring back the 30 unit loss limit again if you just make it a secondary quest and failing it will just simply give the enemy like 30 ghouls or something as extra reinforcement. That way, you don't make it too punishing like losing the campaign, but don't make it too easy either.

The Undead here didn't know they were fighting Garithos, and when they knew, they just noped out, leaving Garithos to decimate their base, which seemed nigh-invincible before.
So, if you managed to last that long, the enemy will be unable to make units, and they lost every unit in the final assault. Shame we didn't see the ending scene, though I wonder why? Perhaps something special after the mission, like killing Uther or something.
You should learn some important shortcuts starting from Garithos skill shortcuts. It would save your men from dying if you've learned those shortcuts. I'm not suggesting you to learn all the shortcuts of the game so you can start with Garithos and it would be fine. But your campagin is bloody fancy and dialogues are brilliant. Rooting for ya mate!
I know all the shortcuts and use them efficiently. Garithos eventually runs out of mana for using Holy Light so I sometimes just let humans die. Hard AI target kills the units with low health so there is no point to micro them out of combat for the most of the situations. Other than that Humans suffering losses makes the combat a bit more realistic and fair since the AI can't micro which is not fair.

The bases have accelerated training speed that's why the undead are capable of amassing large waves of forces in a short amount of time.

They also have frost bolt. That's basically storm bolt but on a mass produced unit.

The *Human* Workshop
The idea of attacking the enemy after 30 minutes of surviving is a very good followup objective that should've been used more frequently.
So, if you managed to last that long, the enemy will be unable to make units, and they lost every unit in the final assault. Shame we didn't see the ending scene, though I wonder why? Perhaps something special after the mission, like killing Uther or something.
I want there to be another human campaign where Garithos is the mentor of Arthas instead of Uther.

In the last mission it will be Garithos assaulting the orcs, elves and traitors at Hyjal not the legion.

Garithos Wizards are more versatile and powerful than Elves wizards.
You should learn some important shortcuts starting from Garithos skill shortcuts. It would save your men from dying if you've learned those shortcuts. I'm not suggesting you to learn all the shortcuts of the game so you can start with Garithos and it would be fine. But your campagin is bloody fancy and dialogues are brilliant. Rooting for ya mate!
I know all the shortcuts and use them efficiently. Garithos eventually runs out of mana for using Holy Light so I sometimes just let humans die. Hard AI target kills the units with low health so there is no point to micro them out of combat for the most of the situations. Other than that Humans suffering losses makes the combat a bit more realistic and fair since the AI can't micro which is not fair.
@@ExecutorNral I agree, it's better to use a shockwave, it does more damage than light could heal.
