Thank you very much! Though I'd already got the Core Update from Vestel site, I didn't know I had to press and hold the OK button: you gave me the right hint. No need to freeze the EEPROM chips in my case.
Thanks for the video and showing the cooling method. However it costed me some time to find out, how to manage the firmware upgrade, as you didn't show the full process properly - and obscured the simply procedure. In my case, the first USB-Stick didn't work, as its capacity (32 GB) supposedly was too large. After I dug out and tried a 1GB (FAT32, 4K blocks) Stick, the upgrade worked. So: 1. Format a 1GB USB stick (FAT32, 4096 Bytes/Block), copy upgrade_loader.pkg to it and plug it into the board with power cable disconnected. 2. Apply the cooler spray to both chips. 3. Power the board up to standby. If it automatically turns on, alter the settings in the menu to go to standby on power on and try again (with step 2). 4. Press on the remote control and then . A more rapidly blinking LED indicates that the flashing is going on (about 50sec in my case). After that it alters to slow blinking and the TV can be turned on via RC and has the updated firmware on it.

Hello! i have the same problem with MB82, and in 10:25-...in this video, you are on Vestel driver website, and you have the TABLE with TV models, i cant get this TABLE, can you help me?

I did manage to get one of these TVs (different brand but similar board) to load the upgrade file off of the USB drive exactly how you did (even without freezing the EEPROM chips), however it only worked once, meaning that after I switched it off with the remote, I couldn't get it to turn on a second time - it had gone back to flashing the led again. Even if I put in the USB drive again and do the whole procedure over, when the led stops blinking rapidly, the set doesn't come on like it did the first time - it just blinks slowly forever. What did I do wrong ? Was I supposed to factory-reset it ? I'm actually kinda pissed because I almost had it >_> Switch to badcaps if you think you can help me (haven't created a thread yet, but I assume you know who I am :)) )
So, I managed to find the update .pkg file, put it in an USB FAT32 formated drive, and do the "power ON while OK button pressed" and.... Doesn't work. Just boot up the TV normaly without any changes. Any help ?

I've got a TV with the exact same boards, the only difference is that mine's not doing ANYTHING - it's like totally dead. Funny thing is that the power supply seems to be working fine: 12v, 5v Stand-by and even 24v for the LEDs are all present, but other than that, nothing else - not even the LED wants to flash (yes, the LED itself is good - i tried it :)) ). Is the main board dead just like that, without even a blinking LED ? :| When I try powering it on, the voltage for the backlight doesn't shoot up to 100 something volts either (it stays at 24), so I'm pretty sure the main board's not turning on the power supply. Any thoughts ? Cheers.
Don't bother - I doubt we're even on the same continent :)) It belongs to a client, so I couldn't have given it away anyway and even if they somehow agreed to let me have it, I would've kept it for spare parts myself. Cheers :D
