Jean Peters and Mitzi Gaynor hadn't reached star status when this film released, hence, they were given featured films. But, I still love Jean Peters in a rather bold role, who is not afraid to air her views. Jeanne Crain, as beautiful as she was, is always guarded like all her other characters. I'm a fan too of Jeffrey Hunter and will watch it again at home since the quality of the film is rather nice.
Wow, what a throwback to a time of sororities like the one portrayed here, called Tri-U, an obvious take on Tri-Delta. I was rushed by them (and Kappa Kappa Gamma) when I was a freshman in 1971. No, thanks. I will say, there was an advantage to being in a sorority because you got the inside scoop on boys and help with scholastics if needed. Just not my cup of tea.
Old movies are soothing in this chaotic time of political strife. Our democracy is at risk most of all by our own president and his money hungry allies. I wish I could stop listening to national news but that would make me part of the problem! My parents made it thru the Depression so I guess I can do the same.

And still they divide themselves, with no others around!
Dale Robertson, not Cameron Mitchell.
