One tip i dont see anyone commenting yet: If you kill a baby dino... they give you prime meat. I did with sabertooth on official.
@@DyFuenteBRtbh it’s always been that way, killing baby penguins or baby dinosaurs in ASE All give prime meat so it’s not really new lol

I love that they included many of the S+ features of ASE into the vanilla game for ASA. They are so useful in ASE and I'm glad ASA players now get to experience that without having to get mods to do it.

@@legendarygigan9855 Ah yeah that's right. Still, I'm surprised (happily so) that they included all those features. I guess they realised how popular those features of the mod were and decided to integrate those. Which is a great thing.

@@DreamingVoid I mean, its kind of hard to steal from your own work. If that guy who made S+ was hired, he was no doubt hired to bring his work into no longer being a mod. And no, none of these things in this video 'came for free with UE5'. This all had to be built out in blueprints and a lot of that needed to be coded in C++ to start.

I don't believe it was mentioned, but you can tame wild babies by taming the parents too, not just killing the parents.
Edit: I'm not sure if this works on servers, but at least in singleplayer, wild baby creatures are tethered to the mother. So if you grab the mother and fly it to a preferred taming location, it's babies will teleport to it. You might need to unload and reload the area though.
E.g. I was looking for a doedic to tame, and ended up finding a level 150 with two babies. I decided to tame all three. I grabbed the mother first with my argy and flew it back to base. When I went back for the babies, they were nowhere to be seen, so I just assumed they starved without their mother or something. After a bit of searching, I decided to cut my losses and return back to base to tame the mother. When I got back to base, I saw that the babies were near the mother again.
Wait really? That's pretty damn cool!.
@@darkstar_sierra1588 That actually makes the babies get the extra levels as well, just as if you were to tame it normally. If you kill the parent you dont get the extra taming levels.

Honestly it's been just refreshing to see how many mods they shadow integrated into the main game that just make ark play way more enjoyable and smooth. The binoculars being an item officially now in the game and working the same as the awesome spyglass minus the border has to be my ultimate favorite by far.
I thought that when every single Friday I come home from work to play ASE and there's a half hour long update I have to go through, pretty much forever since the game launched

Love the tracker, we've all had a moments when we have a couple creatures with us and you turn around after walking a bit and one or both are gone and you usually find one of them and the other is lost forever. Only to find them weeks later just chilling somewhere and are useless at that point.

Or your flyer gets attacked and you forgot to set him to passive, so now he went on a vendetta 5 islands over.
The generators fuel use increases with more things turned on.

@@unnamedblade. But, with that said it's still way more convenient to just have to monitor just that one points fuel.
In the building section there is a "Hidden wall entrance" when you select the different wall types. This can be really usefull in PVP🎉
I accidentally buildt an entire house out of those.. xD

@@murtrustatorright, and theoretically you can tell by walking up to the other persons walls and looking for the "locked" or "open" prompt lol
6:12 - You don't have to put the water tanks inside the radius of the intake. If you pull the tanks out of the circle, you'll notice a blue arrow appear. As long as that blue arrow is present, you can irrigate beyond the range of the water intake's influence. The range is actually MUCH larger than it appears and I believe there's a youtube video that also covers this more in-depth.

@@CastaBoi in local multiplayer in games, there’s a common feature where the 2 or more players can’t be a certain distance apart. That’s called the “tether”. In most games, it’s fine, because you’re all going towards the same objective anyway, but for a game like Ark, it’s the most annoying thing on earth
Could they actually reasonably remove the tether in non dedicated? I know they could never remove it in split screen because it would put to much load on most systems but is there a way to evenly divide the load between systems on non dedicated?
You can remove it on PC, poor console players tho...
Man I love this game. It’s janky and put together by string but at the end of the day it’s still the apex of survival games
I love all these new features! As a long time console ASE player, these will greatly benefit us and give us time to adapt to alot of different scenarios. This is definitely the break we needed!
Not gonna lie but I actually enjoyed running water pipes and electrical wires. It was fun to plot them out and conceal them.
Please note in the very first feature, demolishing the walls WILL demolish everything on top, picking up picks everything up
Yes, I do wish I had mentioned that, I guess I didn't feel I needed to now that there is the pick up option, i'm also pretty sure even if you did demo it, you get resources back for them right? or is that wrong? XD

I was mad at 1st when I found out I was going to lose everything but I kinda understand why now, new ark looks awesome even tho they are Conan features.
Well not really they took some of the features from Atlas but the other building mechanics they actually had help from the guy who did the S+ mod that was all confirmed by one of the QA testers who said that.
And s+ features predate conan. Ps conan is a good game I miss playing that with the tribe

I just wish they replaced the intake pipe with a water pump of some sort just to make it look a little more appealing to the eye.

I want pipes back. We used to plumb water up a mountain, and I'd like to do that without a bunch of unsightly water tanks
@kerbalairforce8802 you can still lay pipe up a mountain unless I'm missing something.

I always thought it would be interesting if they added different kinds of water to the game. For example making the ocean be salt water and thus unsafe to drink without processing it. Similar to how raw meat will hurt you unless you cook it. Or having river water be safe to drink but standing ponds be dangerous. Meaning you have to boil your water skin or water jar. If you have a canteen you can use the chemistry bench to purify unsafe water. It would make the game more tedious, but it would be interesting.
Great idea. Maybe in Ark 2.
I really like the "NEW Feature" where they cut your frame rate in half with clouds.

Just turn off the damn clouds its the ice biome clouds that cause the lag
One could just as easily say to the devs, "Just optimize the damn game," but no, they couldn't do that. I can play with settings at high, but only if I want to play at 30 fps 1080p. For reference, I have a 7800 XT and 5600X3D with 32GB of RAM. That's pretty damn absurd. I upgraded like 2 weeks ago. So I'm just a little salty.

Thank you! I appreciate the sub! And no problem! I primary play PC with an Xbox controller instead of using M&K, so is actually kinda difficult for me to figure out those controls a lot of the time XD
LB now places your inventory into said container instead of taking all and pressing a second time takes all, kind of annoying in PVP when you need to quickly take all
also aim assist is a thing now

This is the BEST introduction video out there for ASA!
With photo mode you can take photos and put them on flags and canvas i believe as well to add a little pizzazz to your base if needed. I think its a great didnt know we needed it feature lol

Haha yeah, I like 90% of the changes! Love the snow effect but yeah that would be some crazy high tech stuff if it melted too!

A LOT of those features are very welcome indeed. If they do end up lowering the value of the supply drops, hopefully it is NOT to the ridiculous levels of NERFing that ASE drops were subjected. If you see a blue lvl supply drop, it should have commensurate items more frequently, but not every single time. Nothing more frustrating than running up to a high level drop, only to find items that are useless or redundant.
I agree! Just need a little bit of balancing, it's just the quality that is way off, I think the content changes are great, minus Deep Sea Loot crates, now that needs changing!! XD
@@BEYPlaysGames I hear ya. I've still been playing ASE, and deep sea and cave loot ate a joke. In fact, I went into the cave at Supply Drop Island, made it to a supply drop in there...blue level, and it only had mundane offerings.
with all the current stuff been brought to asa which i think is amazing, ill only need a few mods like auto crafters, mutators, shop and kits. cant wait to play it, this game is gonna be so much fun and a massive upgrade to ase on console

I don't like that wires and pipes are gone. Sure, they could be designed better in Ark SE so you can more easily align them with walls and floors etc but to get rid of them entirely takes away some of the immersion and fun of planning out the infrastructure of your base.

If you look at the main screen at 8:39 you can see all the important characters. From left to right is Helena on the raptor and bob on the ground, santiago(i think) and mei yin lee, and finally on the right is our favourite mad scientist: Dr. Edmund Rockwell. I love that they added them here :)
I actually miss the irrigation pipes.
Those and the cables made things feel a bit more realistic and immersive, though I understand why people had issues with the latter.
I'm missing pipes and cables now too, It was nice for the first week XD
Maybe in a future update they could make them optional. I also question wireless water transfer from a simple metal pipe.
I always thaught they look ugly and out of place. This is more gamified yes but it makes everything easier, in a game loaded with jank.
If cables had a longer decay timer than wood it wouldn't have been such a drag.

The removal of needing to lay pipes and cables is odd to me. What they're saying is that the intake pipe has a mini teleportation system and all the other machines, tanks etc also contain teleportation systems so the water can be teleported from the intake pipe into the machines. Would have made more sense to have a basic pipe system and then a more advanced wireless system or change the intake pipe to a device you just place in water and doesn't look like it does as it just looks weird lol.
Totally agree. It hurts the immersion as well as the need to plan out some infrastructure for the base. All they needed to do was change the way they are placed. If there's a demand for teleporting stuff, give us a tek device for that.
@@Mantaforce2 The immersion? Umm… you are playing a game where your mind is cloned into a new body in a spaceship (Ark) above earth and you tame dinosaurs and other creatures that don’t exist…. But plumbing and electrical is what you are stressing lol. Ok.
@@Tovek Immersion is not the same as realism. Fantasy games can be immersive. But sending water via bluetooth in a primitive setting is not. And don't tell me immersion doesn't matter because if it didn't, we wouldn't chop trees to gather wood but we'd interact with object X to increase variable Y, displayed using plain undescriptive icons for the resources and colored hitbox cylinders for the interactable objects.

Same. It’s my favourite tame. I had a awesome line in pvp going but I we got meshed. I’m keen on doing it again but in pve because pvp is too time consuming for me

The water intake and the generator thing is convenient, but it kind of takes away some of that immersive spirit of ASE. Not to mention it cheapens the wireless capabilities of end game power generation like the Tek Generator. That was literally the main reason for working toward unlocking the Tek Generator. Now it's all like that. People wouldn't be begging for cryopods if you could just build a pokeball out of rocks and sticks, would they?
Got kinda sad when i realised i couldnt wire a turret some 300m underwater.
A lot of these changes seem like they were lifted from popular mods, which isn't a bad thing, if it was a good idea used by 99% of people with a frontal lobe, probably a good idea to include it. Mojang could learn a thing or two.

I just hope they talked to the mod authors and got at least some kind of permission before copying so many ideas

Some of these "features" are quiestonable for me, electrical wiring and water pipes not only make sense to have, but are useful pre-raiding bases!
This video has me insanely excited for this game to come to console. I was jonesing for Ark, but this new Ark is amazing.

I was running down the beach and would consistently see this bronto with its baby walking around. At one point I ran by and saw that the mom had died and the baby was abondoned and being attacked. I saved it and adopted it and its now a staple part of my family. Ark Ascended is amazing and theres no negative review skew that could convince me otherwise

#1/2/11/12/13/18*/23/26/30: Makes base building soo much easier.
#7/8: I've been wanting this SOOO badly! Fing finally they have it.
#14: This will make moving recources much easier, esp early game when you are often to encumbered to move everything.
#15: Taming made easier by murdering the parents of that creature and adopting it (like that chinease cultivation webnovel you were reading earlier)
#16/19/33: SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!
#29: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MODS BABY!
Features i find controversial
#18: I hope we get something that could also extend the range of the powered radius as making multible generators for a megabase is gonna be quite costly and tedious to protect.
#22: I have a need for speed in multiplayer, why remove that?
Probably because they wanted the pve to be harder now you can’t just zip out of danger and it changes the pvp meta
99.9% of pve players don't travel on foot once they've tamed their first dinosaur and let's be honest taming your first dinosaur isn't even remotely above extremely easy. So no movement speed makes zero extra difficulty to pve players. I was always on foot in pve with pumped movement speed it made the far more fun.

7:05 a few months back my tribe on pve got robbed of over 75k ingots due to someone leaving a smithy unlocked in range of the boxes. So someone came in when we logged off and helped himself to a couple nice pairs of ascendant flak armor lol

Unsurprisingly a large number of these changes in ASA are now "vanilla" for me in ASE with the help of mods. Unfortunately so, however, I'm still siding with the fact that this should have been a cheaper update. I didn't say free but i know some people feel free is a better option still.

Also you missed a few things. Like the item durability being reflected in the item and the random body bags all over the map. I’ve found two In places I haven’t been before or died in. I’m also pretty sure there was a hard hat next to one I found in the water, and I don’t mean the box you drop when you drop an item but the hard hat itself but I might have been mistaken cause I only looked at it for a second before getting back to what I was doing.

for number 37 i kinda miss the old school physical map you pull out (as long as you arent wearing ghillie suit) but the pinpoint gps stuff has made the notes a breeze

Ngl, snow on your house in the game is almost getting me to buy ASA even though i decided id hold off until its more complete (and to wait and see how snail and wildcard handle things from now on)
Removal of the movement speed stat and wires/pipes is actually really annoying imo
Movement speed is just a nice to have that saves time, but wireless water and electricity make no sense and this takes away most of what made tek generators special..
