I don't know if you've had the opportunity to go to Copacabana (Titikaka Lake) in my opinion one of the most magical and beautiful places of Bolivia. In Copacabana, I found this community of French expats and French owned vacation properties, amazing place by the water. Bolivia is the hidden gem of South America. Also known as the Tibet of Latin America
Yes I actually visited Lake Titicaca! And I loved it there! Amazing to me how the indigenous people that live on the islands on the lake have preserved their culture! Simply Amazing!
*Cheap Early Retirement In La Paz Bolivia is very possible!* There is such a mix of neighborhoods in this city. From Colonial, to business to hip, this city has it all! There are a wide variety of restaurants throughout the city but especially in San Miguel which was my very favorite neighborhood in the entire city! It was also quite fun an also interesting to visit the colonial part of the city shopping and enjoying all the Andean people I met there. What a beautiful and interesting city La Paz is. If you have the opportunity, you should definitely go! I very much felt as if I was in a foreign land when I was there! You will love it!
I moved to El Alto, very close to a cable car station, so I travel by "teleferico" most of the time and it is cheaper here and more authentic, I mean it is more real bolivian.
@@TheTravelInsider I've been to JV in Bog as well as Oma on Carrera 7. It is 5:41 am Pittsburgh time. I had to get up for obvious reasons. I'm old lol. did pushups and made a small serving of Cafe Bustelo in a 3 cup moka pot.
I absolutely loved your footage of La Paz. Thank you for sharing. Question for you, how did you go about finding a place to live while there? Is there an agency you used or did the US Embassy provide assistance?? I'm a US citizen & curious how to get a place to rent through a reliable source. Thanks for your time, insight & guidance.
I got an discounted hotel in San Miguel for 5 nights (I have wholesale hotel connections), and then began asking locals if they knew of any monthly rentals or of anyone wanting to rent an apartment or condo by the month. I found one which I really loved and came to an agreement with the owner. Good luck!
I have not applied for residency in Bolivia but visit occasionally for a month or two at a time. I have applied for residency in Lima Peru, as I have a very close friend there for the past 25 years.
Honestly I don’t think I ever really got used to that high if an altitude, it’s over 12,000 feet. If I walked up a hill I had to stop to catch my breath. It would take some getting used to I think..🙏😎
You know, honestly, that’s a very good question. I noticed when I first got there if I was in the part of town with a lot of hills I definitely had to stop to get my breath several times. But eventually I moved down to a place called San Miguel and it wasn’t quite as hilly, so I had a much easier time once I moved there 😂
@@TheTravelInsider definately comrade maybe they were extra friendly to me I stayed in miraflores when I was there BTW, San Miguel looks a lot nicer Maybe il stay there next time ill go agian
Keep in mind about healthcare. How is their hospital and med availability?? I'll be 65 in several months. In USA, healthcare is a racket. I've had herbal mate at a Argentine cafe near where I live. Alas, it went out of biz in 2015.
@@ericbond5276 I could not agree more, as I just turned 65 also. I get all my medical treatment done down here because I completely agree that in the United States, the entire medical and pharmaceutical industry is the biggest racket that there is.
@@TheTravelInsider Mucho gracias for the agreement. Drs bury their mistakes. I know very little Spanish. Didn't stop me from ordering an espresso at an indie coffee shop or letting me sit off to the side in a tiny coffee shop during covid. Politeness goes a long way. This was in Zona Rosa area of Mex City. My amiga was getting ready for the day and I escaped her, I mean went out for my morning espresso. Does La Paz have alita shops. I luv chicken wings!!

I retired in beautiful Cuenca Ecuador ..Planning on visiting Peru and Bolivia next Year ❤
I think you’ll love it!❤️

wow, I saw this van with French plates when I was there
that explains it
I went to lake Titicaca in Puno Peru in the other side of the lake I believe. such an interesting place! I loved it there!! ❤
Copacabana is magical because of the garbage dump along the beachside? Yes, there are nice hotels and food.
9:27 nice Art Deco building. I saw a few in Bogota.
The entire neighborhood was like that! Fantastic place..❤
Love La Paz. Lived there for over a decade. Wanna go back to Bolivia for my retirement.
I loved San Miguel! Such a wonderful place!!
wow, cool
I only went for 2 months and now I want a earlier retirement over there too

My country, my city is so excited and beautiful, you will be welcome here.
Muchas Gracias mi amiga🙏
Your video shows different aspects of La Paz that other bloggers don’t show. Great job, keep it up.
Thank you for your kind words. I love the diversity of La Paz! Such a great city..🙂
4:52, you got to meet a "yinz'er from Pgh! I've traveled to Bogota 10 yrs. ago. I've been to CDMX. I'm always looking for espresso cafes.
I always look for coffee shops also, especially private owned and also Juan Valdez! ❤

So well done. A nice humble, curious video. A contrast to many other vloggers.
Wow, thank you so much. Your kind words are much appreciated. 🙏❤️
I agree. Too many vloggers seem to think they are making their acting debut. We are interested in the location, not their antics.
Love La Paz, my husband is from La paz❤
I love it too!!
Are there alot of Indians in la Paz
Thanks for taking the time.
It was my pleasure! I love La Paz! 💕
Definitely on my "must visit" list 🤗
Excellent decision! I love it there ❤
I love your video, La Paz beautiful city, the best in everything thank you ❤❤
I completely agree. It really surprised me how nice the area where I stayed was. It was beautiful and so diverse!

Estoy completamente de acuerdo... y como dijiste, ¡la topografía era totalmente increíble! ¡Realmente me sorprendió! ¡¡Yo amo esta ciudad!!
How much should a person save to retire in bolivia with a monthly income of $1200?
Whatever savings amount you’re comfortable with as you can live on $1200 per month there!
10 dollars for a 40 minute taxi ride?
they always charged me about 3-5 for that ride
Yes sir I understand.. but I’m sure thats because you are Mr. Kim Jong Un 🙏😎
