Someone should make a chart where you pick your tank size, then pick your substrate, then planted or not, hard or soft water, temperature, tankmates or nah etc. Then in the end it shows the ideal fish to add 🤗
Happy Monday!! I hope you guys had a fantastic weekend !!! Another fantastic list!! I like the rosie barbs and I've been eyeing the long-finned ones ♥️ I finally got to see some rainbow fish at a pet store yesterday. I think they were the bosmani (if I spelled that right) I saw some little short bodied platys I don't think they were balloon but they were shorter and they were deep deep dark orange red. They were stunning and super cute! And you are right red looks absolutely gorgeous against the Green of the plants especially if everything's blacked out like the background and substrate!! My kitchen tank with my red betta in it is really pretty!! I've really been thinking hard about the pencil fish. They're just simply cool! I also want some super red plecos!! I love it!! Thank you so much for another fantastic video! I can't wait to hear some more about aquashella!! I hope you all have a very blessed day!!🙏✨🌿🐟🌿💚♥️
Many thanks for another fun and informative video. I have an idea for a fun topic...Fish with food sounding names. E.g. lemon tetra, chilli rasbora, pineapple sword, honey gourami. To name but a few.😊
Happy Tuesday /post -Monday! Another Great video for fulfilling the full spectrum of colors that are available in aquatic and invertebrate livestock. I can't wait to add it on to the live chat tomorrow🤓 ✨🌟💫😎 It really is amazing how something so small is a few cherry barbs can deliver an instant pop of color in an aquarium. The larger cichlids are beautiful.. The first time I saw a jewel cichlid in person I was fascinated by its spangling. The festae , that is a unique fish in the way it changes its spectrum so rapidly. Thank you for adding on the caveat that those are definitely not for beginners.
Going to try cherry shrimp for the 1st time they are so cute and yea the red bettas are gorgeous. I have my red plakat in a green plants tank and he is stunning. Great video, thank you both😊
@@PrimeTimeAquatics I saw a couple of them at a LFS couldn't believe the color on them. I also couldn't believe I was unfamiliar with them. Purchased 2 of them but lost one. Now the one thats left is the bully of the tank.
keep in mind I wanted a schooling fish for my apistogramma cacatuoides tank that would match the fins, did quite nice until the apisto passed rather quickly. Now I'm in the limbo mode of not knowing if I should replace the apisto or try something else.
I have serpae tetras in my community tank and they are very red. They look great with the black sand and black background. I just need to get some bright vibrant blue in that tank I have alot ofnred and yellow.
The color fish series is a ton of fun. Each time, I see a color you feature, I think that would be a cool color to have! I'll do that. Then along comes a different color, and I want that color. Lol. Truth telling time...you say today we going to feature fish in the color_____ and I automatically think, One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish from Dr. Suess!!! 😆
I love my red laser tetras (hemigrammus coeruleus)! A lot of the time they're more pinkish with a red stripe going down the lateral line, but when they are in breeding mode they get some SERIOUS color. Another fish that gets intensely red is the rainbow shiner. Their body turns a type of red I can't explain, and some get blue heads and fins with that.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics 🤣 I was just trolling and am thrilled that you actually replied. But now that I think of it, do you think it's possible to keep an actual tablespoon of water with some kind of microalgae wtih microorganisms alive with a drip system that supplies its nutrients/gases and keeps up with the rate of evaporation?
Hey there guys! Jason, it was awesome seeing you again my friend. Although, I wish we’d had more time to chat in person. Maybe next year huh? Joanna, it was freaking awesome to meet you this year. And, I look forward to your small skate videos every week. For my redfish comment I keep cherry shrimp, guppies, rainbows, and I absolutely love my tomato hat! He is one of the coolest fish that I have as far as my Africans go. Also, my fire hat has a lot of beautiful red almost turning purple against the blue in his body. At least, that’s what I’m told by people who can see them. Hope you guys had a safe trip home, get some rest and I will catch you in the next video!😁🤘🏻🐠🦯
what about some of the killifish like nothobranchius kourthousae or to a lesser extent aphosemiom striatum, and some of the gardnerii killifish and what about blood parrots
Any recommendations for fish that can do well with a ropefish, but also will stay mainly in the middle and top of the tank. I was thinking columbian tetras but only because I don’t know and fish that get around 2in
What lighting would bring out the red more in the Scarlet Badis? When I got mine at my LFS the red stripes were more enhanced and in my tank the colours seemed washed out (I picked the dominant ones so naturally the most red ones out of the tank). I'm pretty sure it's the lighting cause I have a budget one (comes in 3 modes: white, white/red/blue and red/blue) for my nano shallow tank. My tank is 8 inches high and 14 inches long. I was looking at the Nicrew ClassicLED Plus and one by Hygger (you did a video on that model). Do you have any recommendations based on the dimensions of my tank? Thanks in advance!
It might not be the lighting as much as the substrate and background. A darker substrate and background will bring out the reds more. Also, more subdued lighting will help him feel more comfortable too.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics Wow, just wanted to say first that I truly appreciate the fast reply! Well, I do have a black substrate and I have scaped it with plants, rocks and driftwood for them to have hiding places etc to make them feel as most comfortable as possible, to compare to the LFS I got them from, where it's just a bare tank and sponge filter. Yet they were more red there. By subdued do you mean the light is too bright for them? Cause I also have floating plants and the light is approximately 20cm above the tank.

One of my favorites. Odessa Barbs. 😍
Those pencil fish look so cool! I've heard they like to jump out.
I really want some of those guys 😍♥️
I didn't knew at the time I got them.. I have an open tank and couple of days later after when I turned off the lights.. two of them jumped out 😕..

Peruvian red pencilfish… is that the same as the coral pencilfish that TM Aquatics is hoarding? 😉
