Some of those fish I've never seen in any fish stores. One thing I didn't hear you guys mention is that lighting and substrate make a big difference in how good fish look, even "bland" fish.
You could do an hourlong video of colorful killifish. In the no-so-wellknown category, some of the North American darters are strikingly beautiful. The Ozark longear sunfish is also super colorful.
I have to agree with you about the killifish. I kept my first one back in the 80's before Moses was born. It was called the red panchax and I had gotten the egg's through a scientific catalog from Edmund scientific, I don't believe they are still around. I know their store closed quite awhile ago.
Someday I hope to be able to get some peacock gudgeons. I've always been fond of the bird they're partially named after, so it's just a given I'd take an interest in them. Paradise fish and bettas got mentioned, but I've gotta say that my favorite Anabantoid right now in the rainbow color sphere is the sparkling gourami. Sure, as juveniles they don't have much color, but as adults their fins have a rainbow of shades at their tips-and that's not even getting into the iridescent rainbows in those shiny "silvery" fins all over their bodies. Just a beautiful little fish all around.
I don't have room for big tanks, I'm a nano die hard keeper. For me, a really amazing colorful tank is a 10g with tons of various male endlers. So many bright and beautiful colors you can get them in. And they they so stunning against the greens of a planted tank, plus they're so active and friendly, like micro puppies always trying to convince you they're starving, lol. 👍❤👍
Really nice list!!! Several are new to me. Love my mutt endlers/guppies because each fish contains blues, greens, oranges, purple, black and sometimes white, yet each fish looks unique with diff patterns and fins. Truly fun to see how each fry will turn out as they get their color. Happy Monday! (And love the bloopers)
Just got back from a trip in Alabama and Orange Beach. I got to visit Aquatic Cove In Northern Alabama. It has some freshwater, but is mostly salt. Not that many dry foods either. But it was still cool to visit, if your in the area.
There are many rainbowfish that have multiple colors on them. Melanotaenia goldiei dekai makes have blue bodies with red, orange, yellow and green on their fins. Chilatherina alleni wapoga males have blue, teal and yellow on their bodies along with a black horizontal stripe. Their fins yellow, green and orange. I know you guys, Jason and Joanna, keep a lot of cichlids but I think you should look into all of these rare rainbowfish that are being bred by hobbyists. The farm raised fish don’t compare to hobbyist bred fish.
I've bought Congo Tetras precisely because of the color and they don't disappoint, at all - On the contrary, they're such a kaleidoscope of colours concentrating too much on them might give you headaches!
It`s finally Monday. .. .. Oh no, it is used on fridays. 😁 Have great colorfull and fishy monday. Keep up your list coming up. Your are great with them
Another great list. Always appreciate the mention of fish that are tough to find. Right now I'm looking for some Cupid Cichlids, if you happen to know where I can grab them. The bloopers at the end are classic! 🤙🏻
I got a group of juvenile congo tetras, about 3/4" a little while ago. They're about 1.5" now, but I still can't tell what m/f ratio I have. About what size do they reach before showing sexual dimorphism? Thanks!
my electric blue acara is getting attacked by my geophagus steindachneri and my jewel cichlid. do you know any ways to reduce the aggression levels. also would adding 2 or 3 more similarly tempered cichlids distract the aggressors from picking on only one fish
Depends on the size of the tank, but both jewels and steindachneri are fairly aggressive relative to the acara. If I were keeping them together I would want at least a 4ft tank and a 6ft tank would be even better.
nice outtake. lol awesome. thank you. The second to last fish which seamed to be the end of the video; was that fish just added to the tank? looked like quite the little stand off. I'd love more on that behavior and how it gets sorted.
This one is my favorite Fish color episode!! Why?? because it has the Ram Cichlid, and, Kribensis Cichlid my two most favorite and beloved Fish!!!! 🥰💛💜🤎💙❤️
Probably a slip up but flagfish aren't livebearers :) They are really colorful though! They almost seem like little cichlids. My first fish as a kid was a Jack Dempsey. I loved that poor guy but back then we didn't have the internet and the pet store told us all wrong.
I know you'll most likely never find them in a LFS, but longear sunfish are really pretty. They get about as big as some of the larger cichlids. Dollar sunfish are smaller and just as pretty as well.
Not a single aphyosemion, fundulopanchax, or Nothobranchius? Well I you had one killifish, the flagfish. Why do killifish in general not get any attention? They are such a colorful fish and most are easy to keep and breed. I even keep them in community tanks.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics if you do a little research, you will discover that is only true for a small number of them. Most live just as long as most small aquarium fish. The vast majority, maybe all, of the genius I provided will live longer than just a year.
I'm really bummed about my platties, they have like 1 baby every couple months. And are hugely fat. I put them in a a larger tank thinking that might work. Is they're anything I can do to make the females to release the babies.
I've never found a video of the maximum length of different kinds of fish. Fish are always small medium large. Even videos for fish for specific size tanks don't tell me maximum inches.
Looking on the bright side of my truck setting it’s self on fire is I can watch all of the video and know I won’t be buying any at the LFS because money will be going for truck payment.

Happy Monday! Great examples. I am partial to my rainbow fish, especially my Boesemanis! I also LOVE my mature Odessa barbs! Very colorful
We thought about adding them too :-)
I like the blooper reel at the end! Very nice selection of fish in this line up.
Thank you!

Geophagus on my list! Love the end of the video 😂😅

'skittles', lol !! Great video, thanks
Great video as always Joanna & Jason. Thank you these fish are all amazing.
Thank you :-)
I needed this so bad today! Thank you! Always a pleasure!
Glad you are here!
Happy Monday. Superb list of colourful fish, the Geophagus is still top of my wish list though 🤩
I’ll never have one of these, but they sure are fun to look at and swoon over. Thanks!
Ooh, I've never seen a Nanochromis before. I like that. 😊
The Red-shouldered Severum is lovely too. 😊

Guppies and endlers can add so much color!
Tomato Haps are a GORGEOUS fish!
A really good nano centerpiece would be Apistogramma macmasteri 'red mask.' Blue, red, orange, yellow. Almost every colour of the rainbow!
I love endlers, one of my favorite fish.
I love all the pretty fish!

I've bought Congo Tetras precisely because of the color and they don't disappoint, at all - On the contrary, they're such a kaleidoscope of colours concentrating too much on them might give you headaches!
You guys should do a *no* color (transparent) fish showcase next in the series! (Thai glass catfish, ghost shrimp, etc)
It's on the list!
Great video - thanks. I did have some Paradise fish, but they were crazy. The males were so aggressive
Go retro, go paradise fish!
Rainbow shiners have amazing colors and are super hardy.
A big bonus is that they are sold by flip aquatics.
OB Peacocks are my favorite ❤️
Happy Monday 😁
My favourite thing to do Monday morning ❤️
Thank you! 😀

Check out the Wetspot?
Fern fish are my favorite fishwater fish! 😁
Mine too! 😀

Usually about an inch and males will start to color up. Longer fins start to appear at 1.5”.

If it was the mbuna tank I don't think so - they are always chasing each other, but no real fin-nipping or anything.
More bloopers please !
Good Morning.
Odd, I missed this video last week. Cool fish! I really want to get Apistogramma's, but I can't decide which ones I want.
Glad you caught it later 😀

Rainbow fish bar none !

Ya, duh - oops

I totally agree! It's really had to beat the beauty of a longear sunfish.

All good choices. Thought about adding them, but some have a sort lifespan so sometimes not well-suited for the average hobbyist.

00:50 hate to say it brother.... but the Florida Flag fish is definitely an egg layer
Yep - oops
Came to the comments to see if anyone else noticed 🤣

I don’t think there is anything you can do, but once they ramp up baby making it won’t stop. Haha
How can you forget channa bleheri
They’re illegal in the US. Love them!
Will be adding to tank when i get the money 😭😭
Next Monday: Top Fish with NO Color!! All the Albinos!
Cichlid,Cichlid and more Cichlids it's the closest you can get to salt water fish colors if you ask me.
I've never found a video of the maximum length of different kinds of fish. Fish are always small medium large. Even videos for fish for specific size tanks don't tell me maximum inches.
Is it me or did this video just cut out as she was trying to figure out the word
Salvini Cichlid.
