Im a contractor in Miramar beach and Santa Rosa Beach Florida. I have worked on this home for the Actual original owners. The Pennington family. I can tell you 100% this home was not owned at any point by a cartel. The locals here think this story is hilarious! Dr Pennington sold the estate due to excessive water intrusion wicking moisture throughout the concrete structure. He never could figure out what was causing the issues and spent millions attempting to rectify it. When Dr Pennington sold the home it was Owned by Destin Chiropractic for years and stayed empty. It then sold to a development investment firm and now a third time to a developer. All of this info is available on Walton County records. The cartel story is cute though and the guys talking about digging up money are hilarious. 😂😂😂😂 Keep dreaming kids!
Built by the Penningtons, most recently owned by a Georgia Automotive software magnate. No record of a drug lord, and the knife and blood look to be added for theatrics. Some spent shell casings would have been better.
Your videos are literally next level, there are thousands of xplorer vids saturating the youtube market but your vibe is definitely different...maybe because you come off as being more real.
Love your work!! The gulf is so beautiful. I’m a Florida native. Did you all see any square groupers? The star underneath the black ceiling represents a compass
Pennington Sr to Pennington III and Paula, Daryl B. Sr. 11/19/96. Then Casa Magnolia LLC 10/23/2019 for 12M to Hathcock Realty LLC. Hugh Hathcock gifted 12.6M to FL Gators in Apr 2022 (unrelated by interesting factoid). Complex bc there are (3) total parcels involving a total of 10.69 ac. Hathcock sold for another record $25M on 06/06/2022 to Miramar Holdings LLC. Pennington Sr is still rolling in his grave over the neglect & destruction. Was only a little over 2 decades old. Sad situation in my view but money talks I guess. Let's see what happens next to the vacant land.
Not destroyed by storms. I saw the mansion in Jan 2021 during an estate sale and it was fine. I was inside at the time and crew of workers were present beginning to take things apart. They advised it was slated for destruction by new owner. All this talk about drug cartel is B.S. Finally, in Jan 2023 work began to total demolish. All trees along the service road are gone as well. Up FS again for $48M (minus a mansion built in the early 2000's) on 01/22/2024 (was $62M on 09/22/2023). County approved 'Development Order' in hand for 30 interior homes, 4 gulf-front & 3 commercial pads along US 98. Current MLS 932871 for 10.69 vacant acres. D.O. will transfer to buyer @ closing. Current owner is Miramar Holdings LLC that bought the 10+ acres for a county record $25M from Hathcock LLC. Hugh Hathcock bought the property in 2019. The dwelling could easily have been saved from the start. Proof that one persons mansion is another persons tear-down. There is a youtube video on the property w/the mansion in top shape. Pull up 39 Sandy Dunes Circle by RE Broker John Paul Somers.
I live there, drive by it everyday and didn't even know it was there, property was hidden behind overgrown trees.....though it was owned by a Oil family from Louisiana.
The eyesore was not the mansion in 2021 or 2022. The eyesore was the neighbors all around the mansion at that time. Review the youtube video mentioned above seconds ago.
Hey Rick if my parents had a house like that my parents can park all their vehicles in the garage and my dad would have room for the stuff he wants That is not car related Am I mom can store holiday decorations in the garage and there won't be any bickering back and forth about the garage.
You can have it reenforced with hurricane proof windows and beams. Fireproof insulation. If you're willing to put in the money you can definitely have a big beautiful house in hurricane alley and have it not be so easily damaged.
In the State of Florida if you pay the Property Taxes and maintenance. (Upkeep of exterior) pay the utilities and any interior repairs for 7 consecutive years all under the same name and you have all receipts. You walk in to the Courthouse with a title of ownership as long the rightful owner or inheritance claimant doesn’t show up. But, if they do show up…. They have to compensate you back 100%
Walton County FL just east of Destin near the huge outlet stores. About a half mile from where Scenic Gulf Drive begins going west. Just west of Sandestin Resort. Very close to the huge Camping on the Gulf property.

It looks foggy outside post rain and if it’s colder out it’s perfectly normal off of the water. It’s beautiful.
Likely not a tropical storm 🌀.

The hardwood floors are gorgeous!
Not any longer but yes they were gorgeous and the real deal.
Beautiful place, but too far gone for restoration. I think you are right that It was destroyed by storms.

It was demolished in early 2023.
Bro you did a Beautiful job on this one 👏👏👏👌🤙❤️
I don't know how you find some of these places, but they are always interesting to see. You got to live as a gangster for a day on this one!
I'm sure the neighbors are glad the eyesore is gone.

Strange thing to have a big house right in hurricane alley 😮😢
LOL at least they are not left overs.
@@barbaragravely920 that is the truth about that

Not if you have the funds. Ask the Donald about Mar a Lago.
That’s Casa Lauren it was never owned by a drug cartel.. 😅
Whos lauren? Whats the story then
Rick ask how the water looks when there is not a storm ??purrty pease lol
Almost as nice as Half Moon Cay. Ask me how I know.
I'd use the 30 car garage for private parties or events there, not storing my collection of 30 cars
Yes it said 30 cars but 25 is more like it.
Yes squaters have been staying there on weekends . misspellin words sorry
Possibly but could have been left by de-construction workers as well.
Property is for sale, $62,000,000
Reduced to $48M MLS 932871 on 01/22/2024.
Last sold for $25M for total 10.69 ac including w/the mega mansion intact and in good condition.
🙋🏻♀️Question…If a mansion is abandoned, can a person claim ownership?
I wouldn’t do it, I am just curious how the law works!

Was never a drug lords home. Guess you just made it up for a story.
The home was built by the Pennington family from Louisiana.
How do you know It wasn't a drug lords den? Rick said it was a originally owned by a Columbia cartel.
Jordan is 100% correct.
This huge place was built before 9/11. They all had to be ejected right after 9/11
