omg I'm obsessed!! love love this technique. can't wait to try it!!
In my graphic design class in school when we learnt how to paint/draw different textures like glass, wood, metal, etc, they were some of my favourite lessons but I wish you had been our teacher! I always found glass the hardest to grasp but you have explained it so well in this video.
ok that is amazing. it really does look like real glass! you are da womannnnnn!!!
What a helpful technique - thanks for the great instruction on it. And the link to Karen's website - your encouragement and recognition of other artists is fantastic.
WOW Sandy, now this is totally exciting!!! Unbelieveable transparency effect! TFS
Just wanted to say, you are the greatest!!! I could watch you all day! This is so great, I would never have thought to make the glass shine like that! Take care and Happy Easter! Thanks for all your wonderful ideas and talent!!!
It's never wasted time if I learn something new. Can hardly wait for the work day to be over so I can try this. Thank you for sharing... God bless you!
Wow!!! That is truly amazing! It sure does give the illusion of glass!! TY so much for sharing !
That is utterly awesome, thank you.
Sandy, this is amazing! What a great way to finish off a project "under glass".
Oooh that cloche with the fairies is sooo adorable! Brilliant!
I love the little fairy one!!!! Would like to see how you did it. Tfs
This is fantastic...so cool and realistic looking and fantastic techniques!!
What a difference the white paint makes to the finished product. Great idea!
Brilliant! I should go glass hunting in my stamp collection too!
Very Cool! Thank you, Sandy!
Boy, thank you for sharing what you've learned. I've always wondered how on earth they get that sheer kind of look. Beautiful examples!
So cool, have to give this a try!
You have to be brave for this technique, but it is so worth it. Phenomenal! TFS this great tip! Big hugs, Kristina
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Love the effects.
Just thinking, if you are scared to add the with paint, scanning your colored image and printing a copy would give you something to practice on. That way you could try out the technique without being afraid of ruining your original! I learned these techniques when I was in art school, I have never tried them on a stamped image. Thanks for sharing! Your cards are amazing!
An awesome tip Sandy!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Love these, awesome.the fairy is my favorite. Tfs
That is an amazing technique! So inventive.
What beautiful images. Thanks for this. I would have yo really be brave to try this.
Love this, thank you so much for sharing ! This tip is very welcome to me !
Wow.. Thank you for sharing this. What a great technique.
Neat technique; thanks for sharing :)
Lovely ideas. Thank you x
fantastic! Thank you!
Omg I love this!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing !! Your cards are so cute!!! Hugs!
Wow definitely not for the faint of heart but truly great results! I was actually holing my breath on some of the stronger strokes lol
Forget the coloring, I’m stressed out about you using gesso on your SBV brush! I don’t even like to use gouache with mine, let alone acrylic products!! You’re very brave, Sandy.
Wash it quick and all is good 🥰

😳 If you say so 😘
Sandy, you can apply "Distress Micro Glaze" to "seal" your colored layers before applying gesso or any wet media, at least with any dye based inks, I'm not sure about alcohol inks; or any kind of protective coating like mod podge or matte medium. I'm not getting what the white is supposed to be, light reflection? Thats a cute card btw.
Great technique! TFS. :) I like your word for the thing too, "dubly-do".
You're awesome!
Woohoo, I'm the 1000th like! Anyhoo, love this idea though it is a *bit* difficult to watch you sort of cover up such beautiful coloring 😲 but the effect is definitely an amazing technique & awesome as all of your work, tfs! ☺️
+Sandy Allnock can you do a tutorial of how to paint the metal part on the bottom of the snow globe? it looks like metal I really like it!! love this tip!! woukd of be the same using gouache instead of acrylic or gesso like you used?
+Sam's Corner try it and see! 😍
Thank you for showing this technique. Have a question regarding the brushes. Should brushes used for gesso be kept separate from those used for watercolor? Thank you again. Congrats on over 40k subscribers!
+Mari Nyx for a quick detail like this--if you wash them out well right away, I don't find there's a problem...but if you're doing a whole acrylic painting, I'd get a separate set of brushes.
Very cool technique, Sandy! Boy, you sure have to be brave to try it though. Maybe I'll work up the courage. ;)
Wow! :) Very pretty!
Thanks for showing this technique, love them all. I also follow Karen, she's amazing to watch. What do you think about trying it over vellum?
+Nancy Sturtz you could try it, but it wouldn't be as subtle and realistic as this effect. 😍
Great share ,thank you
Instead of using white paint why don't use modpodge?
+Amber Garcia I don't like the color it turns over time.
Amazingl
