    Nice work, well and effectively narrated; a nicely done video all-around. Looking forward to more to come!

    It looks like a lot of hard work, but I’m sure the end result will be great. Keep up the good work. 😎

      Appreciate it. It’s work, and it’s not totally enjoyable, but at the same time it’s part of a really interesting process so it doesn’t completely feel like work. As I joke, in a way it’s a lot of fun. Thanks for checking it out. Follow along. I’m sure it will be entertaining even if it’s a comedy of errors.

    Hi mate, good start. One of the purposes of fairing is to fill the weave in the cloth that was not filled evenly. The best of the best in this field have to go over and fill the weave, it generally will give you the path to follow after the first light coat. To apply use a normal trowl and force the fairing compound into the job it may look like you have put little on but remember your filling the weave. Good luck

      Yes there was a lot to this learning curve, but I hope I am close to being out of the woods. Appreciate the advice.

    I vacuumed after sanding also, but the best thing to use is a airgun. There is a ton of pinholes that the vacuum cannot remove. Especially sanding after primer....

      I will use compressed air to clean it before I apply the second coat to make sure it’s a clean surface.

    Congratulations on breaking 1000 subs too!
    That fairing compound is amazing stuff but can be challenging to work. nice job!

      Appreciate it. I’m most excited that the subscriber count will lead to a boat plan giveaway. That’s coming pretty soon as I’m working on details. So far I’m liking the fairing compound. I have some epoxy fairing additive I am going to try as well and compare the two. Thanks for checking us out.

    I used 40 grit for knocking down everything, fairing a boat build is quite the project in itself but the end product is worth the sight!

    • @Bigeaux20
      @Bigeaux20  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the TotalBoat sands pretty easy so it's not that hard to get the high spots knocked down. I learned a lot that first day and applied it going forward. I think the next video will show that progression. Appreciate you checking it out, and keep the advice coming. I need all the help I can get.

      I’m happy to report that they didn’t fall off as was initially the major concern. It was a much easier process going forward and I’ll show that soon, but that first day was a lot of burning. Thanks for checking it out!

    @allanragnarsson5929 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I hope you used 25 or 40 grit paper for the rough faring.

    • @Bigeaux20
      @Bigeaux20  ปีที่แล้ว

      No and hindsight is a good teacher no doubt. I did everything with 80 grit and that was intentional. With 80 grit I felt like I could prevent myself from getting into too much trouble if I went the wrong direction and did something dumb. At least with 80 it would make that more difficult. Good point though and maybe as I gain some experience I can work in a more efficient pace. Thanks for checking it out.

    Do you know anyone with a pneumatic longboard sander that you could borrow? Lol

    • @Bigeaux20
      @Bigeaux20  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Believe me I have explored all options but I don’t mind the hard way. My problem with a pneumatic longboard sander isn’t the sander but the compressor required to run it. I just can’t justify it.

  • @bullykuldo6233
    @bullykuldo6233 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You are going too need a lot more faring compound to Finnish it off . Why didn't you put it on properly and do the job once and get a long board to do the sanding have a look at boat works today he has some top videos

    • @Bigeaux20
      @Bigeaux20  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well we will have to debate “putting it on properly”. You can’t discern the obstacles I am attempting to circumvent, and I have been studious in my research and what my approach is. Now if this hard work makes each successive step easier, we shall see. But regardless I welcome the criticism. Lee it coming as it will keep me sharp. And I love watching Andy, Lou, and I follow many of them.

    Why don' t you want to work smart instead of hard?

    • @Bigeaux20
      @Bigeaux20  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve never done this before as you can tell. I am trying to do the best I can with the skills I have. Keep in mind, there is no way to develop these skills I lack without doing it, and sometimes learning what to do means doing what you shouldn’t. That’s all part of the process. What should I have done different?
