Thx you very much ! Perfect comparaison. A passionate Frenchman who has just discovered your channel. I don't speak English very well but I like your diction, you speak softly and well. So I understand 🥰
Bought the Sigma a couple of years ago. Fantastic lens, and absurdly light for a 100-400. f5.6 to f6.3 is only 1/3 of a stop, not a big problem with today's Sony sensors, especially considering the extra 100mm of focal length. Would be interested in a Sigma vs Tamron comparison for the 100-400 vs the 50-400. The Tamron should focus faster with its linear motors, but it's more expensive, too.
Thank you for your comment, I think the sigma is also one of the best zoom lenses. Unfortunately I don't own the Tamron. But it would be a very interesting comparison. When I get it I'll do a comparison. :-)
I'm really liking your exacting photo comparisons. In another of your videos I commented on, I was leaning towards getting the Sony 70-350 mm lens. Well, since then, I have actually purchased the Sigma 100-400 mm lens. I've had it less than a day at this moment. Just did some basic tests: weight, feel and comfort of use. The weight will take some getting used to. As to photo quality, I'm stunned at how good it is. I've heard some say the Auto focus takes a bit longer than it should. Maybe. I'm still impressed with it overall, as the speed seems most satisfactory to me. Thanks, Dawa, you've helped me quite a bit in the last couple of weeks.
I'm really happy to hear that you like my videos and that they help you with your decisions. It motivates me to continue with the channel. Thank you for your nice comments 🙏
Had before the Sony 70-350 on the A6600. Now using only FF-cameras (A7IV, A7RIII and A7C) and bought the Sony 100-400 instead. It is a bit heavy, but overall a very good lens for day light.
Thank you for your comment. 👍 I have also the A7IV and the A7RIII. These are great cameras. Did you ever try the Sigma 150-600? I’m bought it and it will be a review also here on my Chanel in the next weeks. I’ve use it currently with my A7IV.
Thank you very much for this detailed comparison. It really helped me with the decision which lens to buy - for me the Sigma is by far the better choice because of the much higher sharpness and the 100mm additional focal length compared to the Sony lens.
Thank you very much for your nice comment. 👍 I always try to do honest reviews because I pay for all my cameras and lenses myself and am not sponsored. The Sigma is the better choice! 😉
Good review! Do you know by any chance if Sony wants to release an updated version of 70-300 on the nearest year or so? Like mark II smth :) just curious
@@dawa5581 bummer :( 70-300 is nice and light bit sigma 100-400 is so much sharper omg. Next to sigma you can’t really look at 70-300, but sigma is so huge 🫠
@@dawa5581 hah you really covered this whole segment of telephoto lenses 😅 that’s very nice. Yeah I’m watching your Sony tamron comparison and the most bummer is that tamron doesn’t have stabilization (and it’s not as sharp as Sonys or sigma). I’m using 6500, so I kind of have stabilization but still it’s an aspc and I don’t really want to crank up my iso to 2000+ to compensate higher shutters :( especially on the longer end. I’d probably love to have a full frame lens, cuz I want to upgrade to full frame eventually and I want something to force me, which could be a full frame lens. Sony 70-350 is such an amazing deal, but if I buy it, I’m not gonna upgrade to full frame in the nearest 2-3 years hahah
Thanks for your comment. 👍 Did you seen my review about the Tamron 70-300 telephoto lens? If size and weight is an issue for you maybe this lens could be the right for you. I have also a lot more reviews about telephoto lenses for Sony on my channel.
@@dawa5581 I'll check it out, thanks. Weight for me is definitely an issue. I sold my 24-70 F2.8 because it was too heavy for standard shooting. Now i'm using a 35mm and 85mm prime setup. But I need a good zoom.
@@sonacphotos for me weight is also an issue. I sold also my Sigma 24-70 and I have replace it with the Sigma 28-70, witch has a similar performance. I have made also a comparison video about it.

Amazing comparison. I’m always hesitant on buying a lens that isn’t Sony. But you made me confident in the sigma
Thank you very much for your comment. 👍 Sigma has produced very good lenses in the last years. Sigma is a very hot competitor for Sony lenses.

Thanks. Im going to get the Sigma.
Thank you for your comment. The Sigma is definitely the winner. 😊👍 I was a little bit disappointed from the Sony lens.
I've had it for a couple of years, it's a great lens. Considering the price and the focal range, it's unbeatable IMO.

What about the image stabilization? which one its better?

Can you tell me, how fast the eye focus if the sigma paired to sony a7RIII? 😁
It works really fast. I couldn't tell any difference to the sony lenses.
