Jeanty is only a RUSHER and that means he is reliant on the O-line, and when he got stuffed, Boise couldn't use him effectively out of the backfield by throwing him the ball to free him up. Jeanty should have had no more than 20 rushes before switching it up by getting more involved in the pass game since PSU was locked in shutting him down in the rushing game. Jeanty ran over light competition and Coach JB is missing the fact that there was nothing else that Jeanty provided. Hunter winning the Heiman was a no brainer and Jeanty got exposed, not for failing to break the record, but for not showcasing any versatility out of the backfield in the passing game. Jeanty is dependent on his O-line in most cases while Hunter can be used effectively on both sides of the ball. Jeanty was NOT the best player this year because Hunter had an exceptional season playing full-time on offense and defense at an All-American level. Everything fell into place for Hunter and that is it. Jeanty didn't get screwed over, he simply had his best season when another player completed a historic season at two positions. And after last night, Jeanty will be forgotten outside of Boise State if he doesn't have a great NFL career. That's the reality for failing to break a historic record in college. You don't get remembered for finishing 2nd.

They both had amazing seasons, but only one was truly historic and that was Travis Hunter.
