that 2x, 3x, and 4x QoL improvement that we all needs. I'm looking forward to you adjust the leveling mechanics. Maybe instead of combining 2 digimons to increase leveling cap and starting from Lv1 again, why not Digimons DON'T have level caps, but the combining of digimons will only increase the Digivolution Points ONLY. but the question would be would that eventually over level you? why not decrease the exp by like .5 or .25 to compensate for it. Rather than you having to catch countless Digimons and combining them and starting from previous rank and level, cause that would be SUPER TEDIOUS and SUPER TIME CONSUMING. With this? you won't ever have to catch more digimons to increase level cap, since they don't have level caps, you'll only need to catch more digimons for them to gain Digivolution Points to be able to digivolve to digimons like Omnimon/Omegamon. etc2
Thank you! The biggest problem of older Digimon games is the speed. Everything takes way too long and especially in DW2 the animation speed was horrendous. I actually really like the game but I can only bring myself to play it on an emulator as it runs so slowly. Looking forward to your progress and hope you will finish this remake. Great work!

@@Gabvrie194 Again, it works exactly like in original - it recovers 10% of MP. That's one of the things that never really needed rebalancing since the original game nailed it.
Love it! This is such a love letter to us all classic digimon game fans. People say new digimon games have similar mechanics so there's no need for a remake but honestly, the feeling of playing the classics can't be replicated, not without something like this! I can see the speedruns now. Game Over vs Auto Pilot, god mode toggles, speed toggles. Idk if this question has been answered but would you consider adding an NG+ into the game? I honestly don't see it as a priority as there has been so many great implementations, and it would prolong the time needed to finish this by a lot. But it would be nice to have that replayability for hardcore nostalgia players. Maybe increase the stats of wild/boss digimon, add more bosses in the storyline, etc.
NG+ would actually be a nuke to the beginning game content, no matter how much you boost the enemy stats. It's just a hardly-calculatable factor. So instead, I decided to go the post-ending route - beating the final boss and seeing the credits unlocks multiple new dungeons with new/unique bosses, which will be kind of a "hard mode". It's much more simple and more logical for this specific game than a flat NG+, at least in my opinion.
This is really looking great! For such a grindy game like DW2, the slow battles were really annoying. Fortunately in emulators we have the speed-up option, but seeing here it's built-in is great!
It was too repetitive and it was mostly designed to sound good with the default dungeon theme. Now that more dungeon themes are going to be added, it would eventually become a nuisance. So I changed it to something less abrasive.
Getting cooler the more I watch. I think the item drop part is great(esp if you could get upgradeable parts). Now if there was a way to dv out of the lab...
This made me happy and sad at the same time. Happy that this guy's doing god's work, sad that why Bandai doesn't do this or any of old Digimon World games T_T

i thought he gave up due to copyright crap, in battle why is the camera so zoomed out? its just a tiny bird digimon not a world size boss, and why is the player digimon hiding behind the UI boxes? 2:22 your digimon should be half above the UI boxes, 2:47 no battle cam should zoom out that much unless the digimon is big if size scaling has been added.
First of all, the thing with Command UI is a big challenge the did not exist in the original. There are now 5 slots per party, there is now a widescreen ratio with it's own problems, and there are now new FOV values in place that better show the battlefield. Therefore I sacrificed the Digimon view during command section, solving other problems in the problems. As for the zoom in battle - I simply disagree. A little space is always left for the VFXs and that's why there's a small zoom-out, but in no way that is a bird view, especially compared to previous implementation. The zoom value is even randomized a little, to make it look fresh, but it's never that far from the target.

Also with regards to battle animations - making them more in line with Digimon Card game would be cool. That game got animations right. Then maybe have an option to toggle it on/off for people who don't care for that?
