Great changes, the only QoL suggestion I would make to add to this would be to inform the player that their party is full when they open the gift menu, to prevent gift wasting
Agree. I feel like you should know before you fire. Also, I never understood why you couldn't just automatically transfer any caught digimon to the remote server if your local memory was full.

In the remake it will be tiered and accessible much earlier, but will allow only certain amount of transfers per dungeon session. There will also exist Item Transferer, which will do the same but for Items.
Wow, this was just recommended to me and I'm amazed. It's looking great, good job! The only thing I had a small pet peeve about was the battle arena. That giant "Fight!!" on the ground was a little goofy, please make it so just beginner dungeons have that written :P and I hope there are different dungeon layouts with corresponding battle arenas based on the aesthetic of the dungeon (in this case the dungeon was yellow and the battle arena was completely blue). I'm so hyped, gonna watch your other videos now!
It would make sense that you could still use gift items of a specific type for a mixed party where that corresponding type exists, i.e. vaccine gifts would only be affective for any vaccine type digimon in the party. Another characteristic I always thought was counter intuitive about this mechanic is that you couldn't target the digimon you were gifting directly and that the only way you could be selective was by KO'ing it last. When it would make a lot more sense to simply select it from the list that appears when inspecting them, and then KO them in an order.
This is one of the not-so-many original decisions that I actual am siding with. Directly selecting Digimon feels like extreme cheesing in this case. Catching is meant to be a chellenge-type mechanic, not just "here, have a toy and go with me" type of thing. Much like in pokemon, where you have to battle the target to a point it becomes reasonably catchable (i.e.

I don't see why the cannon can't or shouldn't be precise in it's targeting. Now that you mention it, it's always been the whole party targeting that's felt nonsensical. Look at it this way; who's gift is it really? Can you imagine the whole party fighting over who the toy plane really belongs to? I see your perspective though. Personally, I've never considered capturing digimon a challenge so I've always regarded these changes as quality of life improvements.
I love what you are doing for QoL and it makes me so excited to see everything else you have planned for the game! I noticed you used "Dynamite" to take out the digimon in the one battle. Am I correct in assuming that you will be adding offensive items for the DigiBeetle to use? This I think would be an interesting addition to the game as long as it doesn't become too powerful, but maybe better for adding certain status effects to enemies. Also, I've always thought it was kinda lame that you never see the DigiBeetle in the actual matches even though it does a lot in battle. So I am curious if are you planning on potentielly adding the digibeetle into the background area of the battles and maybe have an animation of it using the cannons to heal, etc during the battles?
Yes, Tiered Ray Bombs and Z-Bombs have been added to the game, with the most powerful only unlocked towards the end of the game, and being reasonably expensive. As for the DigiBeetles in Fights - it is possible in the future, we'll see.
Nice changes. I guessed right you would make some changes but I was thinking you would make gifts for each rank (rookie, champion, mega, ult) and it would be able to use like the final tier item to catch any rank but I guess it is ok. I was hopping to have unlimited space to catch them and also be able to multi catch like 3 at once by the end of battle and pick and choose who we will like to catch or not.
I think keeping it simple like in original is the way to go. Besides being able to choose who gets caught would remove huge part of the challenge (getting target beaten last).
Its looking amazing!♥ One question/suggestion: The spacing between digimon in-battle seems a little tight if it stays the same as rn for higher evolution mons uness you are going to do some sort of scaling.(There's a lot of room in those battle areas) Are you going to adjust that in the future or do you have some sort of preset for how close the models can get to eachother?

That's a temporary arena, it will later be repurposed into Colliseum arena, while thematic dungeon arenas are being planned.
It was so frustrating throwing a Toy plane and the Digimon randomly ignoring it... that's a great QoL update.

The placing will be adjusted later. We need some big new Digimon to be able to measure the actual space needed.
