I didn’t truly get into bourbon until about 2.5 years ago. And right off the bat I stumbled across two 15s and later a 16 at $59.99. I thought that was normal. Apparently not. But 16 to me still reigns supreme between 15-18. That’s all I’ve been able to try.
I love, love, love Stagg Jr. I've had batches 7 through 17. Batch 9 has always been my favorite. I've heard people say that they blinded it against 2018 GTS and it won. I've never been able to do that experiment, tho..
I don't think it would beat 18 GTS for me but def 2019. Stagg batch 9 was great. Had a couple of them. 15 has been my fave tho! And I've had batch 12. That sweetness nailed it for me.
Really happy watching this review as this is my first time finding Stagg and I found 3 of the 19’s this past week in 3 different stores all at msrp.

Just got one for $53 in NC, just FYI. I can't wait to pop the top on this one. It's the first Stagg I've ever acquired for myself. I've sampled batch 18, and enjoyed it, but wasn't blown away like I was hoping I would be, so I'm happy to hear your positive review of this batch. Thanks for the info and comparisons!

Stumbled on a Stagg today at Total Wine for $59. They had Blantons, WH Taylor...a bunch of hard to get just sitting on a table...one per customer unfortunately. It does NOT have a batch ID on it however so no idea what it is
Batch 15 has been my favorite to date, but I've only tried 8, 13, 15 and 18. It has the same candied flavor that I sometimes get with Old Carter American...which is almost harder to find than Stagg. OCA is probably my favorite whiskey right now. Batch 10 is 🔥🔥🔥
I finally found an 18 a few months back, but I honestly did not like it at all. I blinded it, and it got last, even against something I didn't like. I just found a 22a(which I read on redit was a small batch from May of last year?). The coding system is confusing me, since 22b came out a while ago, but I am sure someone will educate me at some point. It'd be great if you were able to review a 22a!
Everything coming out of BT the last 6mos is this soft, lemony, vanilla, very light oak. I've had it in BT SP's and EHT BP . This sounds the same...not bad or good in my view, just seems like something in the ingredients, weather/aging, etc.

My girlfriend gave me a Stagg Batch 22B for my birthday yesterday. I’m even more excited to try it after watching this review! I’ve tried batch 15 and 16…and also have an unopened 18 at home. Batch 15 has been my favorite so far… which also happens to be the first bottle of Stagg Jr. I was ever able to get my hands on.

Another great review! I just lucked into batch 19 today for $52+tax in VA (state ran ABC). Pulled 18 a few months back for the same price. This crazy start to the year and wanted to share. I’ll be comparing 18 & 19 this weekend!

My fav so far, and I’ve had B14-B18, B15 is head and shoulders above the rest. B14 was an ethanol bomb for me. All of the bottles were fresh pop neck pours as well.

I’ve tried batches 10,13,14,15,16,17. 15 has been the standout for me. Doubt I will get my hands on this but I will definitely be on the lookout

Cool review on batch 19 I have not seen 18 or 18 anywhere in my area. Batch 12 and 15 are good batches. I just released my first Stagg jr review, we are comparing all batches 1-17 to get a winner. I would now like to compare the winner to batch 18 and 19. thanks for such a great review. cheers.
15 is my favorite
I’ve tried 12 and 15 in a bar. And won a bottle of 16 in a lottery. I wasn’t crazy about 12. 15 was amazing. 16 I like as well but it may have been beat by 15 for me. Can’t say for sure because I couldn’t A-B or blind them.
I also won a Stagg barrel pick but haven’t cracked it yet.
I just scored this 22b at a local point redemption day for $50. My 1st stagg of any kind. Really damn good. Not as hot as i was expecting from what ppl always say and from the 130prf. Wish it was more widely available, but doesnt everyone.
Had 12,13 and 15 and 15 is my favorite. Hope to get a 19 🙏

that's weird. I've wondered that before too. I had an EHT SmB that was funky in a bad way. Maybe cork taint? or some sort of bacteria or whatnot got in there??

I haven't even seen Stagg Jr/Stagg since Batch 14, unfortunately, but 12 is indeed amazing. In general for Stagg/JR, at $70 a great buy. At 200, find several other good bottles for the same total price.
Picked up Batch 18 (131 proof) for MSRP at a VA ABC allocated drop. Got lucky it was the last bottle at my store. Gotta say it didn’t disappoint. Btw, great Jordan cap!
Batch 3 Fall 2014 was my favorite from 1-13. Never had the chance to get a Batch 14 up.

Woohoo, just picked up a 22B off the shelf for $80.
Although B18 is “off profile” still seems to have more complexity and depth than B19
I went in a local store today and bought a Stagg Jr for $52 . They also had Blanton's gold for $118 .

Ive only had 1 Stagg Jr. store pick and wish I was able to compare but couldnt. I think I would have liked 12 better

18 has been my favorite so far, it’s complex and delicious. More akin to GTS than then rest. How did you view batch 18 verses GTS?
Got 2 bottles at a local gas station yesterday. Get this, $55 a bottle and they had a buy 1 get one half off deal going on. I almost passed out at the register.
Never see them without having to wait in line. Not worried though. I'll stick to my M&J picks.

Only ever had the 18, and one taste of a barrel pick from a local bar.
According to the NC state pricelist, it's $49.95 here and according to the warehouse inventory, it's supposedly in stock, but I didn't see it this week. I'll have to keep looking.
I have yet to try a stagg. I never see them and if I do it’s at redid secondary pricing. Always wanted to try this out of any BT line.
Had Stagg Batch 19 on Thursday, then had ECBP A123 next. Was surprised how much the ECBP smelled and tasted like a rye compared to the Stagg.

I overall greatly prefer ecbp so unless i see one of these under 80, ill just buy an extra ecbp.
I don’t even bother asking for it anymore. Minimum $250 everywhere here. I always saw these as more or less equal to ECBP. I’ve still got batches 12 thru 15 and will certainly enjoy them until they are gone. Envious of all you folks that can still get it with some effort at less than $90.
In all my bourbon fishing, I just can't seem to land a STAGG lol! Been really searching harder for value bourbons so my weekly rotation is a little less expensive.

12 wins blinds with me, but 14 flies way under the radar. It has been overlooked for years. The Junkies were the only ones right on this batch.
Yep, Stagg (and GTS) is basically Eagle Rare Barrel Proof.

Haha!! You are assuming that we can even get any Stagg. I can't find any in Nebraska without paying secondary prices. Which I don't want to do. That just makes it harder down the road. It's frustrating!!
B19 was horrible to me, and I won't be keeping a bottle in my collection. :(
Every time I find a Stagg, I try to trade it into another B17. For me, the B17 tastes like a hellbird Eagle Rare. It's a high-proof grape bomb.
Everyone has a favorite Stagg and there's no general agreement on which one is best. For me B17 is great and B19 missed the mark.

A place here has it for 4X msrp. The only reason I'm tempted is because it's for a charity. They just won't tell me what percent the charity gets.
