    Very cool. Brings back memories. Not exactly 40" header of a JB combine, but it makes you appreciate the hours our grandfathers put in farming.

    One of the easiest machines to maintain . It was the most affordable. It sure made a lot of things possible for the small farmer.

      Still makes things possible for small farmers!

    We had acouple of the 60 all crop combines. One of the most underrated pieces of equipment ever built !! Grandpa had acouple also. For a young kid it taught all the basic functions of a combine even a newer one. It truly was a ALL CROP combine also a poor farmer could afford it and repair it as well !!

      It's amazing how the basic combine workings haven't changed much in 70 years. Thanks for watching

    I love the pairing -- 1940's combine with a 21-century tractor.

      I like it too! In perspective, that little tractor probably has more horsepower than most that ran those combines back in the day. I'm sure it's a lot more lightweight, though.
      Thanks for watching!

    Great to have a backup, and it's a working AC A-C! In a pinch you can go counter-clockwise around the field since trees shade out yield around the edges you aren't missing much. The guys with the big machines have to go fast and cover many more acres just to make equipment loan payments. Older cash paid equipment with no debt can make smaller farms profitable.

    The A/C All Crop would cut and clean everything from clover to grass seed. Great machines, and you at least have the bin type - no bagging while you run it. It's amazing how good they did. 👍

      It is quite a machine. It was very fun to see the old stories come to life.

    Very nice that old machine still functions, we still have one in the barn, but sitting 30 years I’m not sure chains would even move, thanks for the video

    9-24-23 Illinois We had AC 60 on the farm in the 1950's. pulled with a Massey Harris 44 tractor.
    The cylinder bars were rubber faced, , what do yo do today? Doubt can get replacement ??

    • @thumbcountrystuff4215
      @thumbcountrystuff4215  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Actually, you can still get them. I should replace mine, but there's still some rubber left. It's sort of just a toy anyway. I love hearing those stories. It's great to own and use a piece of our great history!
