  • This hobby never ceases to amaze… I am so thrilled that Royal talked me into taking a 4 hour drive with him away from Syracuse to the beautiful mountains of Vermont for a day of detecting. We were hoping for something different, and old, but didn’t expect to unearth such an important piece of history as Royal scored the find of a lifetime … a superb example of a piece that less than 10 are known to exist, this should be in a museum. Real treasure. If you enjoy, please consider subscribing and hitting the notification bell. God bless and happy hunting my friends.

    That's a great save!! I'm with you, I drive around looking at sites and wondering what relics are hiding there and where I would start swinging when and if I get permission, it's a great hobby.

    What an incredible day for Royal 😃. Though I must say that you also had a wonderful hunt with finding the two CW era buttons, the Vermont and the Canadian buttons are both amazing finds ☺️. A V nickel, IHPs, Wheaties, the sterling pin; you made some great finds!! I agree that we never know what we'll swing over when we change up our usual MO 👍. I've got to make my latest video because of some items I just found that were a total surprise for me ☺️

    Hello fellas - found your video in my feed and love your passion at the very end - I get it. New subscriber and have been at this for only 2 years but was lucky enough to find this exact same Unity, Prosperity & Independence button in a friends farm field in Ohio. there are around 40 different types of GW buttons - this one is ultra rare RRR - The one I found is a beauty too and I have only cleaned it with a toothpick. . Congrats and keep on keepin on !!!

      @garydurk1646 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have done some research and I don't know exactly how many of this one there are. As of 1968 - which wasn't yesterday - there were 3 known examples ( not sure what the numbers are now ) They would wear them as decorative buttons and were taken on and off. They were expensive for the time They smelted canons etc to make these. One like this but missing the shank and not as good of condition sold at auction in 2017 for close to 5,000 - I do not want to sell mine

    • @yerdigginitmetaldetecting
      @yerdigginitmetaldetecting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I believe these to be crotal bells from the 1800’s and I imagine that they were all lost together on one leathers strap and the leather disintegrated over time just leaving the bells.

      I know right … I think every button got kissed. Believe me, I hardly ever ding anything… I think it had something to do with the hard rocky Vermont soil, you’d go to dig the plug and you’d hit a rock and it would push your shovel in right towards your target. 🎯 That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
