Now, THIS is worship I can get behind, I just LOVE it!! This is what I grew up with and enjoy so much. It is filling my soul to no end this Sunday moring. I got my hymn books out and I'm sitting at home, by myself, singing along with you. Hallelujah!! And Mark Lowry is right, that IS how you sing "Nothing But the Blood," only in our Baptist church we didn't hold the note on "snow" quite as long as you did. :-) It's all good, to God be the glory, amen!! Thank you SO much for this.

Oh, how this blessed my soul. I miss the old songs I grew up with. When my parents were in their eighties, I was privileged to take care of them. Mama would play the piano, i, the keyboard and the three of us would sing until we couldn't sing anymore. One of the songs we sang was "I'll Meet You In The Morning". It was also sung at my grandfather's funeral per his request. We would all be crying. Them because they were seeing that meeting and I because I knew that soon they would have that meeting. I teared up listening to you singing this beautiful song. I am now 70 and I, too, am looking forward to that meeting. I hope you continue to have these "sings". God bless you richly.

A 25-year old in tears!
The classical hymns not just remind me of God's immense love and grace, but also my father's life and presence. He used to sing these songs almost every single day way back home in the Philippines, at random times when he was still around. He would grab his Methodist Book of Hymns and would start singing flawlessly.
Fast forward to today, working and living in China as a teacher and living alone, whenever I yearn for a church, I will usually play this video and this will just give me precious flashbacks of good old memories when I was younger, and it helps me rekindle my relationship with Jesus!

My mother was recently admitted to a nursing home with a stroke. She is not adapting well. I brought one of the Hymn Sing DVDs and also the TH-cam videos such as this one to her room (before visiting restrictions). She literally held onto the screen as she listened to each hymn! What a blessing for her and for us! If anyone cares to pray for her, it would be an extra blessing.

This is a great selection f the most beautiful hymns that I grew up with. Unfortunately many churches does not sing these hymns anymore. They have music, message and melody like not other modern music has.
Gerald Wolfe ministry is a blessing for many hymns lovers like me and because of this many other people are blessed with the power of the message that these songs has.
I saw this program a live in Texas in 2019 and I am constantly looking for a chance to see it again.

Singing hymns is part of who I am. I grew up in a Evangelical / Protestant church and still love many of the old hymns even now. Songs like “How Great Thou Art”, Old Rugged Cross, Amazing grace (how sweet the sound “Holy, Holy, Holy”…it’s just something about them. One of my favorites is “Blessed Assurance.” I remember how I felt when the minister would say, “Turn to page 251.” I never did because I knew the words…This is my story! This is my song!

If their hearts were a window that they could look through, oh the pains and scars they would see. What a cruel fate the skin gives as a mask to the inward pain. But the skin couldn’t cover THE SUFFERING YOUR ONE AND ONLY SON BORED on the cross as PAYMENT for all our sins because HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ALONE HAD THE MERIT TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR HOLINESS. They have seen a lot of crazy things done in YOUR NAME. For example, the father of lies futile attempts to make crooked the right ways of the LORD to turn people away from faith in the WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST ALONE. How can anyone bear the thought of his or her life story detracting from the GLORY AND HONOR KNOWN TO BELONG TO CHRIST ALONE? As a consequence, YOU ARE A MYSTERY OF GREAT MYSTERY to them. They are aware of hypocrisy in religious assemblies that like to be seen and heard. In addition, secular education teaches that there is no right and wrong, if GOD exists there is no way of relating to HIM, and moral standards shift according to the whims of fashion. Therefore, their minds are conditioned to question everything this world has to offer including “THY POWER THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE DISPLAYED.” They have accepted the heavy burden of dealing with the troubles of this life and seeks to know another way, YOU THE GREAT COMFORTER TO ALL who did receive YOU as their personal SAVIOR. Still, YOU have shown them NEW MERCY every day with each thought they make and each breath they take.
Unfortunately, like the prodigal son, we are all guilty of wandering far from YOU LORD because the negative experiences of our lives tend to build roadblocks to the TRUTH. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them to identify the way, truth, and eternal life (that is YOU). Since to know and follow your SPIRIT is more exciting than any 007 movie, and YOU DELIGHT MAKING the ordinary into extraordinary. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST MAKE them understand that there is no way around YOUR TRUTH, and that there is something about YOUR NAME. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them defeat in their minds what is false in YOUR EYES.
LORD GUIDE their thoughts to know that the path of sin is hard on their hearts for the purpose of crying out to YOU to know the joy, peace of having the heavy burden LIFTED by THE GOD OF PEACE I AM, and ANCHOR their souls in THE HAVEN OF REST. In other words, LORD use the storms in their lives to get a hold of them to trust YOU and believe. In truth, YOU ARE THE JOY that seekest them through pain.
LORD HELP their fainting hearts to believe that YOU, who was slain on the cross over 2000 years ago has the POWER TO CHANGE lives today through the INSTANTANEOUS GREAT FAVOR from GOD to the house of Israel made known in believers by YOU to make YOUR NAME EVERLASTING. 🥰 For as the statue liberates the citizens so the cross liberates the soul. ONLY YOU can calm the trouble waters of the mind when one admits to wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, JESUS IS LORD, and believes in the heart that GOD RAISED HIM from the dead TO LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt away from the heart in accordance to YOUR WORD found in Psalm 51:1-10 KJV. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 O, the wonder of it all to experience within the flesh the feeling of a tree being cut back/pruned inorder for it to grow stronger and more beautiful after meditating on the words of said Psalm. 🥰🙌
LORD MAKE them know that ONLY YOUR HOLY SPIRIT, through the experience of a new birth within believers, can prevent the family circle from being broken because THE HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE YOU HAVE GRANTED means a chapter of their lives is decided. Creation sings the rebirth song for them yearly, through YOUR PROMISE of springtime, giving rise to the idea that by the mention of YOUR NAME flowers grow, and the desert blooms again. 🥰
LORD GUIDE their understanding of words to use to come into YOUR PRESENCE with an honest reverence of WHO YOU ARE to experience the beauty that time can't erase YOUR WISDOM resting on their faces. LORD STRENGTHEN their determination to never waiver in efforts to search for YOU because the wages of sin is too high for anyone to pay. Additionally, THE KING OF KINGS is needed in their hearts to learn how to expand their capacity to love for YOU are LOVE in any language. 🥰 Once they learn to speak it with boldness through YOUR WONDERFUL COUNSELING all the world will hear, and know that LOVE is the language of their hearts. So LORD, KEEP KNOCKING on their doors until they let YOU in to know hardships and struggles will end with a GREAT CELEBRATION WITH YOU. 🥰🙌
If one believes faith cannot be forced, YOU WILL GIVE that individual over to the stubborn heart to follow own counsel which will surely fail him or her to the extent that the punishment will last forever found in Psalms 81 NIV. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee.
Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again, I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh.
O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. Many thanks LORD for speaking TRUTH in our lives TO BLESS those who are not offended by THEE. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE because YOUR LOVE ALONE CONQUERS everything by WAITING for them to cease struggling, and finally surrender to YOUR EMBRACE to learn about YOUR LOVE AND PROMISE TO TAKE CARE of your children exquisitely. 🥰 Since... "at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore"... (Psalms 16:11 KJV), and the nail print for them to know YOU by answering the following question. How did CHRIST LOVE people into a relationship with HIM? 🥰

I played mine on trumpet at age 12, after I got a 1 on UIL. "I Love You Truly" people in the congregation cried when I finished. It was part of their old songs to each other when they got married. :)

That verse in 66. Is talking about following Jesus Christ geninuely who is the head of the church. Accepting Jesus Christ in our lives as lord and letting him run our lives and costly but the rewards are great too.

My parents were missionaries in India. I was born and grew up there. During my early childhood, we lived up in the foothills of the Himalaya mountains. We lived there all year round. Winters could be brutal but summers were beautiful. Down on the plains summers brought incredible heat. People there would escape up to hills to get a break in much cooler temperatures. Just up the hill from our home there was a rest house, not open in winter but in summer it was full of missionaries getting a respite from the heat of the plains. Every Sunday there was a hymn sing. When I turned 7, my parents decided that I was old enough to go along to the hymn sings. They were marvelous times. You get 75 - 100 missionaries with such love for the Lord singing hymns and gospel songs together -- it was incredible. We may not have the number of people as you do but the end product was as enthusiastic. Thanks for reviving those very happy memories for me.

@ifcmhqbengaluru6160 Bangalore is where we lived when I was a young teenager. I loved it there; although it has changed a lot now. When we lived there, Bangalore was called the Garden city of India. Now I gather it is called the Silicone city of India. I prefer my memories. My mother died when we lived in Bangalore and she is buried there so emotionally Bangalore is close to my heart.

Wonderful singing
This took me back to some of the hymn sings in my youthful Christian life. Once a month we would meet together at various local churches on a rotating basis with individuals calling out favorite hymns and each church supplying special music. I fear that many churches that are distaining choirs for worship teams are unwittingly depriving their youth of the rich heritage of Christian music and theology throughout the generations for what amounts to little more than entertainment.
You are right. At least on one Sunday in a month traditional songs should be sung.
I totally agree. There’s generations that will never know this type of worship. They only sing contemporary verses. Oh the messages they miss.

My church still sings hymns & I love it.
Wish ours did. Even when we get to sing an honest-to-goodness hymn, the leader manages to change the beat and sometimes even the lyrics! Have to admit, it brings tears to my eyes (along with 'righteous' indignation) when I have to think about keeping up with a new beat -- instead of letting my heart sing praises to the Lord with ease and familiarity. I think this new 'wave' of contemporary 'Christian' music is a very effective tool of Satan to divide churches and 'cater' to the affections of 'his' crowd -- another punch in the face or lash on the back of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. I feel so sorry for this generation who has 'no clue' what true worship of God sounds like. What a disservice to them. God forgive us. On the sunny side, I can't wait to sing with all God's children and all the Heavenly hosts only songs presented to God exclusively in honor and praise in recognition of His majesty, grace, and love. What a day of rejoicing that will be!! :)

I well remember the Heavnly Sunlight song from my younger days. But we always sang "heavenly sunshine" (not sunlight) I think originally sunshine rhymed with glory divine and Jesus is mine.

These are the heavenly hymns, it will really tunes your hearts for worship, I missed my choir in the Philippines I’m the pianist at a southern baptist church in pampanga, I’m so sad here in California there are only few churches that sings these beautiful songs, and sadly see only few Christian come to church, where are the Christians, one Sunday I attended a SBC in Anaheim California my gosh a 300 seater to a 20 faithful Christians holding on to their church,what had happen so sad to see the conditions of our churches around California, only few big churches we have but what their singing are like rock gospel praise song mostly ,many of these new era songs it doesn’t stir up your spirit through worship it simply feels your at a youth camp, hope someday we’ll hear these beautiful hymns again.

The only thing that would make this better that is having the words come up on our screens so we can sing along with you. I come from country that do not sing this songs. These precious songs will never lose their power and I would love to join in and sing with you guys. There’s nothing better than praising our Savour with one heart one spirit. Imagine what it would be like if we all could worshipping and praising our saviour, what God would do. Putting off all our religious differences I’m just being in one Accord.

Everytime when I see the congregational singing led by Bro Gerald Wolfe, my heart is overwhelmed because there is joyful life in singing! Very nice singing and wonderfull piano play!!
51 years ago I graduated high school from the Baptist High School, Jos, Nigeria. For 5 years, while in the school, we sang from the Baptist Hymnal. Most of these songs are very familiar and we could sing them from memory. Unfortunately today, in most churches, these beautiful hymns have been replaced by songs that have semblances of Rock n Roll.
These old hymns mean so much to me. It is a shame they are being neglected by many churches. They are called "Sacred Music" for good reason.

Something has infiltrated into our churches. I am saddened to say pastors are inviting others to speak nowadays and some promote their books. Some churches sell merchandise of many sorts. It reminds me shockingly about the scene where Jesus cleared the temple. I miss these beautiful hymns I had learnt by heart. Those new worship songs with lyrics I so easily forget the minute the service is over.
Supposedly this type of music is to attract the younger ones, who find church services irrelevant....But the music seems taken to the extreme. And what gives relevancy to the youth is actually opportunity to serve...having programs that not only worship God but include acts of love toward our fellow man...maybe not just in the collection of $ offerings, but in personal service locally and in missions near and far.
Thank God there are still Christians who sing the hymns of our forefathers, instead of meaningless chorus type of songs.
John Mathew I love the old hymns also and not the new four lines forty times music. However we need to be careful in our attitude towards that type of music. The reason is that a lot of it is Scripture verses put to music and it does imbed the word of God into our memory.

From India. Here in India too sing many of the hymns. We are under curfew. I am 68 years old. Never heard of cancelling church services. But from 19 March 2020, no men's fellowship, no choir practice, no service. All because of COVID 19. Please do remember all those suffering around the world. Thanks I will download this.

Yes and most churches have abandon the true meaning of singing by having chiors, special singing groups and or solo singing.and most of all, the use of all the biggest and loudest instruments. Churches that use instruments do not understand the true meaning of singing hymns. It's all a show, entertainment if you will. "SINGING" is not just opening your mouth and reciting words to the sound of musical instruments. Singing is a lot more, and the musical instruments are useless!

I love this hymn. The old hymns are really more biblical and full of statement of faith. Unlike so many popular songs today just like an emotional expression. This is my opinion, others have different, is okay. But we are united by Jesus love.

@Rose Lilly the Catholic Church refused to accept my child (I forget the terminology bc of brain surgery, which wiped some memories) I was born c of c and adopted by protestant family, but I learned the hard way that not all Christians are accepted alike. My 1st husband was Catholic who died in DWI accident and we were married less than 2 years. So I raised my son with the protestant church who supported me as I tried to stop more people dying from DWI accidents bc mortality rate was 75% kids under 21 years of age.

It is not a a Church (Catholic or Protestant) or Baptist or Pentecostal or Church of God or any other denomination that saves you and gives you the freedom to live for God. Nothing but the Blood of Jesus can ensure that we will live in eternity with our God and Savior. I pray that God shows himself to you in a way that can leave you with no doubt that He is God and it is not man but him who gives us that peace and freedom. May God truly bless you.

We're the same age, and I grew up with this precious music too, in a musical family that loved the Lord. I didn't appreciate it at the time, but I do now, so much. I wish churches still sang like this, I'm spoiled.
The choir seemed to be genuinely happy singing "I'll Meet You In The Morning". I just love it when an individual can talk or sing while having a smile on their face. I'll bet they were wanting to "learn" more songs from whichever hymnal Gerald Wolfe was referring to.

Nothing as unifying as the body joining together in a “church setting” in song.
There is a vast difference in performance and praise. Too many today simply watch platform performers in a somewhat hypnotic stare with little involvement. It’s as if the enemy has stolen our song. It’s time for a “revival of participation” from the pew and not performers on the platform.

Hymns encourage participation, and focus on the people assembled singing together. Contemporary Christian music, (praise band and so forth) focus on the performer and performance, with little or no audience participation, more like a concert or entrainment. Mostly the words are unknown to the audience and the tunes not memorable, not to mention some of the very weak theology in them. There are exception of course but speaking generally churches that have abandoned hymns have lost a great way to encourage participation. Nice to see that you can still be seated and sing, most contemporary services require the audience to stand through the whole music portion. Thanks FBC Atlanta!

Contemporary praise songs are so repetitive they remind me of the Muslim chanting.
