Grew up with these songs and they are written on my heart. Wish I could find a church that still sings this music, not a fan of the current “worship” music, they are empty refrains. There’s power in the words of these songs.

Oh how i miss the hymns and choirs singing the old time gospel numbers, i love southern gospel music. It is unfortunate that this worship in music has left most churches and has been replaced with the contemporary worship now. It is hard to find churches that worship with hyms played and churches that love southern gospel music.

If they would just mix it up with both. The hymns has so much meaning and comfort and ministry to them. I remember when I was making my decision to follow the LORD I kept telling myself if they sung that song 1 more time then I would go to the alter. AND guess what happened? Awwww you guessed it!!! Yes I did.. 68 years ago. Wish I could say I lived all these years for Him but I can't. But He forgave me and let me come home again.
Love these old hyms…. I hate that churches have gotten away from these songs .
Heaven becomes real to me when am listening to all the songs. Am drown closer to God.

These hymns far surpass the modern Christian songs of this day, this brings me back to my early start of Christian foundation attending a Baptist church as a young child via their church bus ministry. It was hear I earned my first Bible by reciting the Books of the Old and New Testaments.

Great old-fashioned Christian music where the whole large baptist church is like a huge heavenly choir lifting up beautifully in harmony the Name of Jesus, our Hope and Salvation. In Finland the baptist, pentecostal and methodist churches are much smaller but I am glad to recognize many familiar songs. God Blessed Happy New Year to all of you! I love hearing Sandy singing and playing that beautiful Hammond Organ. I would love to find a church with a Hammond Organ and get permission from them to play some beautiful hymns on it. It has that beautiful sound that makes playing it a real pleasure and it makes you want to just stay on the bench and keep playing it. It’s a smaller organ but a pleasure to play.
