They would not let me in, but I actually fibbed and said I had a relative there, so I wiggled my way in there. I’d hate to see you make the trip and be turned away at the door. They’re very sensitive there and only next of kin are allowed in. But you might try it and who knows, they might just let you in.
Yes, but keep in mind that after death it doesn't matter how fancy the place is where your body lies. It's where your spirit goes for eternity, and it's paradise in heaven with Jesus!
Thank you, Ron .❤ it is a beautiful mausoleum. Another Face of the Forgotten brought forth to be remembered. Thank you again for the time you put into this, Ron. Quite a bit of history down south compared to Canada and so many odd stories which are fascinating or morbid. No matter what you show them respect in their resting places. ❤❤❤ God Bless you and all those who help make this channel a success so that we may walk along with you learning as well and remember them .
The mausoleum is gorgeous! I love the stained glass windows! The statues are so beautiful and unique! What a great story! Thanks Ron! Good thing you aren’t in WI right now. Single digits for highs. But we have no snow. Storm is missing us!
Life was quite harsh for most early newcomers, so legends were made and things added along the way. Life could be stifling, so the romanticizing was probably welcomed.
Well, look at how the middle ages are romanticized, if you dig deeper you realize it wasn't a great time to be alive no matter what Arthurian Legend says. Even those lucky enough to live in Palaces could not escape the stench from lack of plumbing and were not spared disease. I imagine the Wild West Legends underwent even more embellishment thanks in part to Hollywood.
A magnificent mausoleum of outstanding beauty, thank you Ron for taking us in for a tour of such a beautiful place, I loved the chanting too, gave the whole thing a spiritual and peaceful atmosphere.
My friend Jimmy really liked Ron's hat and got one very much like it!! Now he subbed & we chat about the stories here. Jimmy has a beard & mustache and with his new dapper hat looks like a mountain man. We ride bikes together -- and we both teach children's Bible studies.
I'm just...they went all out on that building! Never seen anything like that at a graveyard...that is incredible, with hints of a castle, you came around that corner and it opened up and my jaw hit the floor lol...not a fan of LA California at all, but that is insane man..another great story...thank you ..
Had to catch it a few hours later because of the time difference (I'm in UK). Loved the wild west since I was a kid thanks to my dad's obsession with it. I do see it as a 'romantic - if that's the right word- time but reality is it would have been harsh and brutal. Great vid. A special part of our past that I would never see if it wasn't for this. Loved the history behind it too. Also loved the ?Gregorian? chant too. An absolutely jaw dropping place. And so clean too. Thankyou. What a gorgeous mausoleum. Love stuff like that. We have a few great channels - grave visitations and serenity sue whose channels specialise in graveyards and mausoleums here in the UK (plus the odd one when on hols abroad!) it's such a fascinating thing to look at. I do visit churches and graveyards when I can - not a maudlin pass time at all, but an important part of our history.
Ron, just when I think you just can't do any better, here you come with another that is just as great or even greater than the last. Thank you so much!! ❤
Yikes! We were a morbid bunch back in the day, ya think?? No social media, so we took & kept permanent visual memories of our community corpse-making events. "Johnny, this here's your uncle Jeb. Just couldn't stay off the hooch. Got him in trouble and well..that's his final portrait- sittin' in a rocker, outside the post office."😂
One of my husbands ancestors rode with Jesse James... later, after he was arrested, the law offered to drop everything if he talked. At first, he refused and was convcted and sentenced to 10 yrs. Then the James gang burned his house and pulled his family's possesions out and burnt them too, but they let his parents and wife go. He turned states evidence the next week after he was informed. He was a Bassham. They even burned his ancestors old stuff from the War of Independence. We lost a lot of family history that day.
Thanks very much, Ron for this wonderful video. The background music (Mass of the Angels?), the statuary, and the mausoleum were sights to behold. Happy New Year 2025 to you and your superb team.
It's really impressive that he made it to 78 years of age (if I did the math correctly that is), living much past one's 40s was a tough enough goal to reach. I was watching a video on the Old Woolworth Mansion a few days ago, have you ever looked into visiting the grave of the Woo Woolworth family? Barbara Hutton the Granddaughter's story is particularly sad, so much so that it was the subject of a miniseries back in the 80's Titled "Poor Little Rich Girl".
That mausoleum is stunning, the stained glass, statues, and monuments, wow. I also loved the gregorian chants, really added to the experience ❤. Great story Ron, the outlaws got served!
thanks ron sorry i missed tonight i was reformating my laptop and got lost in time, but came back and watchedd it,very intresting, thank you for all the hard, hard work you do and for putting up with me
Thanks Ron, that was quite a story. I'm glad the bad guys got what they deserved. That place was beautiful inside and outside, the property was so well maintained. You look good in hats Ron, the chanting at the end was a nice touch. Take care, looking forward to your next post.
I love all the beautiful statues and the picture of the last supper. That was just amazing. I also noticed how clean it looks in there. But as for ol Tom, he wasn't too smart a man. Sees two people shot dead right off their horses, and then goes back and keeps doing the same thing. I think I would have chosen a different occupation after that. Shoe salesman would have been a better choice. Thanks for the story Ron. 🥰
Great video and I love the music. I will be waiting for your next video. You have a great day and be safe. The mausoleum is beautiful, and the Lords Supper is amazing. I hope you do another story there.
Absolutely breathtaking mausoleum. Question....was that music you put into the video or was it played in the mausoleum? The chant is beautiful. Thanks for sharing this story. 🙏🏻🌹
The fellow in the hat (Bill McCarty?), killed in the Delta robbery, had the top of his head split open (hence the hat). The fellow that did the shooting, was a Civil War veteran, and used a Springfield breech loading, 45-70 rifle to dispatch the robbers (at several hundred yards). The story was in a small book about citizens defending their towns against outlawry. Don't recall the title of that book, but it was written to dispel the myth that citizens didn't get involved in defending themselves.
Hi Ron ! What a beautiful place with the nice music. Yes he was a good man for doing what he did & he earned his rest in heaven. If folks who were robbers had just gotten normal jobs they could have lived out a normal life span without hurting other's but they choose not to and paid the price for it. I turned a friend onto your channel & now he subbed but not only that he bought a hat much like yours ! Now we get to talk about your storys. Be safe in your journeys -- thanks for letting us be in your GOOD 'gang'. I loved hearing; "And we're in" -- it always means we're in for a real treat-- another great Ron story time ❤ Came back to ask if possibly could you take a picture of your dog & you together and have it so my could hang it on our refrigerators? Or would that be too hard to do-- Just a thought -- I'd put one on my fridge & apt door & buy some for friends.
@@FacesoftheForgotten I can use my other phone to save the pictures. Dog is God spelled backwards. What a beautiful 🎄 tree!! God bless! We have snow here in Maryland. Sadly 6 people have lost their lives due to the storm. 😥🙏 After church the church folks brought us to the food store - there wasn't a cart to be had.
I love the gregorian chant and that beautiful stained glass windows and statues, being a traditional Roman Catholic myself. Great tour Ron. ☆☆☆☆☆❤❤❤❤❤
It’s worth a trip to LA in my opinion.🙂
They would not let me in, but I actually fibbed and said I had a relative there, so I wiggled my way in there. I’d hate to see you make the trip and be turned away at the door. They’re very sensitive there and only next of kin are allowed in.
But you might try it and who knows, they might just let you in.
. I love the Gregorian Chant.. I play it at night before bed..it really really relaxes me.
Wonderful story and tour, Ron. Much thanks to Deb for her research too. Have a great week❤
That interior is beautiful with all the marble and stained glass, really enjoyed it.
Thank you Ron! I lost the live chat but what an absolutely amazing place! Can you imagine the wealth it takes to be interred there? Beautiful!-Nina
lots of wealth, many famous movie stars here, in the basement; Clarke Gable, Elizabeth Taylor...
@ Thank you for getting in!

What a beautiful cemetery building this is so so beautiful.
Happy New Year, from snowy, blustery, frigid Kansas!
Its crazy to me how outlaws have been romanticized over the years, I'm betting their lives were far from glamorous!
Agree 👍
Life was quite harsh for most early newcomers, so legends were made and things added along the way. Life could be stifling, so the romanticizing was probably welcomed.
I agree, it must have anything but romantic. Just real life in 1800s

Certainly they had short lives spent on the run with often a brutal and painful end..
I missed the live chat, but caught the replay. Great story, as always, Ron. Thanks to Deb for her contributions, too.

Love these stories of the Old West!! You are looking like an Arizona cowboy, Ron! Thanks for bringing us this story!
Hey Gang!
I grew up about 80-85 miles from Delta, CO!
My sons girlfriend grew up in Delta. I missed the beginning so I guess I need to listen from the beginning.
Hi Ron,everyone from ballarat in Ozlittle rain today help put out the fires we’ve had here recently, stay safe,🙏🙏👋👋👍🇦🇺

It's amazing to me how many naked statues there are... I'm guessing that mausoleum was built in the 20's or earlier. I really enjoy your stories!!!
