- "Time passes after the events of the Namek Arc and everyone goes on with their lives. The peace ends abruptly when Frieza, now a cyborg, arrives to exact his revenge for his defeat. Before the Z-Fighters can confront him, a mysterious teenager named Trunks intercepts and easily beats him, revealing he too is a Super Saiyan. After Goku arrives back on Earth, Trunks reveals he's from the future and that a major threat is on the horizon in the form of androids that will kill the Z-Warriors and decimate the Earth. Goku won't even be able to help as he dies from a disease before their arrival though Trunks has brought a cure to prevent such a fate. With this, the Z-Warriors get to work training in the hope to counteract the threat. But there turns out to be some unexpected surprises that even Trunks was unaware of leading the Z-Warriors to face their greatest threat yet."

The fact that Trunks tried everything to save his future(died 2 times in the process) and never lost hope even after all he went Just for DBS to destroy his entire universe and make him live a fake life in other dimension is sickening to me

Absolutely unconscionable and the single reason I will never give DBS a chance. It clearly shows a disrespect for past work and characters.
Dragon Ball Super made it a point to make a mockery of known characters, and even new ones. Like the Tournament Of Power introduced so many new characters only to immediately make them into a joke.
Technically he died once. The Trunks Cell killed was from a different timeline cuz multiverse theory.

Evidence #1: The androids did literally nothing to krillin (in this timeline) and had no reason to resent them in the slightest. Mind you, his squad is still alive and they let him revive them.
In all seriousness, I really do like that our protagonists have to adapt without the main character backing them up (which is going to be the major turning point in the Saga’s climax).
This arc also does show why Future Trunks is a peak character. He is genuinely heroic, isn’t afraid to take risk, get his hands dirty, or be afraid to kill if it means doing what’s right.
And typically enough, his one folly is his inexperience

You're saying that as if this wasn't the case already for the entirety of Z. The saiyans pull up; Goku is effing dead and the Z warriors have to pull out all the stops, give it their all and throw everything they've got against them so that Goku can make it in time and aid them, and even they don't know if he's gonna make it time. Several of them die, with the survivors barely better themselves, and even Goku's arrival doesn't turn around the fight completely, leaving his entire body in a cast. Gohan and Krillin go to Namek; Goku is still in the hospital or won't be arriving for several, so Krillin and Gohan are left to fend for themselves against a very high on life Vegeta, Frieza and his elite forces, having to resort to diversions, guerrilla strikes, stealth, hiding and even having to ally/team up with Vegeta just to make it out alive. And for how stacked the deck was against them, Krillin and Gohan performed spectacularly to survive for how long they did. Even when Goku hits the scene, for half the saga he's incapacitated, he gets his body snatched, and even he has to think cleverly against the big bad
This saga, on the other hand? All fights are one on one, no one gangs up on anybody, no clever usage of powers (they're all just big blasts), no exploitation of weaknesses, all big "AHA" moments are just "you have to get buffer" and the spectacle is nowhere near as grandiose. For now theoretically stronger every villain in this saga is than Frieza (who tore Namek's landscape asunder and could body a planet with plenty of energy to spare), they sure don't show it practically
No matter how strong Vegeta gets, he will still have to live (and die) with this weighing on on him.

This was so humiliating for Vegeta bro. I just re-read this part of the cell/android arc and it’s just hilarious and sad. Vegeta went from feeling like him to getting his arms (and pride) shattered in the span of an hour.

Even so Vegeta vs 18 and Piccolo vs 17 are probably two of the best fights in all of Dragon Ball. Both are in my Top 20

That one scene shows that despite all his talk, he doesn't want the others to die. At the same time he was surprised they jumped in to save him.
Understandably too. Considering the last time he took a hiding. Gohan, Piccolo and Krillin stood ring side watching the whole match, and not one of them threw in the towel.

I think what they where going for with the androids was an enemy that initially aren’t as powerful as the Z fighters. But durable enough to take whatever the crew manages to land on them, and with basically limitless stamina to outlast any of them. Like if the terminator was coming for the prince of all sayans.

Android 18's fight with Vegeta is definitely my favorite fight featuring her. This is definitely one of Vegeta's worst defeats, both physically and psychologically. Not only did 18 legitimately defeated Vegeta singlehandedly, but she made him realize that super saiyans aren't the strongest in the universe and that Vegeta isn't the strongest. 18 was technically the weakest of the android trio of herself, 17, and 16, yet she was still too strong for Vegeta. Even compared to the rest of the Z-fighters who were defeated in this conflict with the androids, Vegeta got beaten up the worst by Android 18.
You just KNOW that #18 held this shit over Vegeta for the rest of their lives.
She can't though, he gets stronger than her afterwards, so her time to gloat about this was limited
