10/24/2023 UPDATE: Cyrax just got hit with a nerf. Now his horizontal chopper spin costs the entire kameo bar and he does less damage. All the combos in the video are still possible EXCEPT for the hype combos, as you landed horizontal spin more than once in the combos. You can still hit hype combos with Cyrax but they'll probably be less damaging. 0:27 is my go-to combo, and many other Johnny mains I met tend to use it too. but if you want to mess with them a little, you can use this one: 214 db3 K j124(hold Kameo if blocked for safety). does 30% damage which is quite good for a combo that is supposed to also make your opponent guess how else you can throw him off. also, if you want to "train" your opponent, I advise you to finish 2144 string on block, which is -6. not that great, but not really terrible. after that you are more likely to catch your opponent off guard with 212. do NOT try to train your opponent with 212 because they can up block on the last hit making this string an absolute death
johnny cyrax can be op for a lot of reasons but i honestly prefer stryker/kano personally for the extension after the EX nut punch. also i think johnny's highest damage combos (besides like shujinko vs geras or stuff like that) are with stryker anyway, sick combos bro keep up the good work
@@Tornadic I don’t know what is optimal, but I play online and thanks to your developments I win more and more often, the system is simply shocked by your combos, it clearly does not expect this 😅
For the midscreen hype combos (3:38, 3:56) you can get in 3 nut punches after the shadow dash, and end the combo with two shadow kicks, giving you more damage. For the double hype meterless starter combo (4:45), you can get another nut punch and a shadow kick at the end of the combo.
Every time I try to use cryrax during the hype combo after 214 BD1 it launches her a bit off the ground and I can’t continue the combo any tips? Great video btw bro . 💪
my problem doing these combos is that when i hold the assist button and he hits he keeps going and throws my opponent away so i cant continue the long ass combos
I’m having a problem where cyrax does the helicopter move instead of his normal move and im not even holding r1. i press it for like a split second. have u ever had this happen to u?
If you're talking about the hype combos; they all follow the same pattern. After stand 4 hype: 2 nut punches into shadow dash, then 214 into 3 nut punches + Cyrax, then finish it off with F34 combo. Most hype combos follow the same route
I keep struggling with hype, combos only because the shadow dash like I don’t know how to use it to keep my combos going, and I cannot seem to find a video to explain how to do it right
It can take a while to get down, it's kinda hard to explain. At least for me, I wait a split second before inputting 214 instead of trying to dial it in all at once. Just as he lifts his head is when you input 214
@@Tornadic as someone who hasn’t played since MKX, is it worth trying to learn? Or should I be picking up an easier character? I mean realistically you aren’t pulling off these long hype combos in game that often right?
@@bigmadcrabI'd say its worth to keep learning. The hype combos are pretty realistic in a real game, I've done them online (besides the double hype combos). Either way, Johnny is still a really good and easy character even without hype.
@@bigmadcrabas an old man, I say you can learn it and get those combos regularly in real matches. You have to be patient after the shadow dash before inputting the 214. You can even exaggerate the delay slightly and use 11 for the next string since it comes out faster.
I saw a comment from The Kompetitor saying the trick to connecting a string after the dash is to input your string immediately after the "woosh" sound of the shadow dash ends. I've been using that trick and it's very consistent.
hey bro I’m having trouble keeping corner position after doing the j244. I’ve tried letting cyrax spin longer and tried to do it as soon as it’ll let me jump but both ended up putting me in the corner. the only consistent way I can keep the other person is if I end with j124. any advice man?
Np, I see lots of pros getting J244 consistently on the same side but I haven't figured out the trick yet lol, you're only missing out on like 1% so it's fine.
I saw in a Xombat stream that the trick is to call in Cyrax Kameo as late as possible after the nut punch in the corner. Then do a neutral jump into your air combo, this works pretty consistently for me.
first time with cyrax kameo, for the combos that end with K, J244- do i need to wait for cyrax to finish spinning or go earlier? cuz my cyrax pushes them super far away most times
I usually jump in right after the kameo call, before he finishes spinning his blades. It's sometimes inconsistent (at least for me) but you can use J124 instead, I find it more consistent
Bro, I don’t understand at all, at the very beginning you do a combo where then Cyrax lifts up, I don’t understand the input, my Cyrax only scratches but doesn’t lift, I don’t understand the timing at all, I looked at your input

Johnny/Stryker combos are amazing and they hardly scale, but Cyrax is just op with almost every character so that's why I use him lol

I think Cyrax gonna get nerfed
For sure
I think his chip will definitely get toned down. Flawless blocking is mandatory against Cyrax kameo

Hi i dont understand the fatal blow reset. Does it really work
His fatal blow is a parry, so the opponent cannot press a button to interrupt the reset, and if they hold block they get hit with an unblockable.
I don’t understand how you are able to do F124 dash F124 dash F12, here for some reason I can’t connect at all with the last F12.. how you do this?
Don’t read instructions just play around with it on practice mode it changes with the distances
Just keep practicing it and it'll be easy to hit, or if it's easier for you, you can replace the second F124 with 212
