Was actually looking for the oil temperature sensor glad you pointed that out been looking for a week thru alot of videos on 2006 kia sedonaex thanks again.
thank you help a lot neither fan was running until I tap on the cooling fan module both started to run until I turned off i did notice temp gauge immediately at half am changing module cooling sensor and testing both fans direct to battery like your other video Thanks a million
Thanks for your vids. I am having the same issue with my 06 3.3L Sonata. It ended up that when I bought a grounding kit, the temp gauge stopped sky rocketing when AC was engaged. But I wanted to ask you what kind of temperature are you seeing for this car. 195-210? Haven't really got a consensus on what is normal for these cars. I have an Azera and it runs about 197-200 and never really reach above 210 like my Sonata.
hmr1979 that temp range sounds fairly accurate, depending on climate & elevation. See my other video review of my OBD II scan tool & look at my temperature gauge. I was running at 75 - 80 mph for hours on the interstate in 75 degrees & my temp gauge was reading just over half. I didn't do any data logging from the OBD II at the time, but based on my assumptions, I believe it was somewhere around 185 - 200 degrees.
Thanks for the quick reply! I am still trying to tweak my car to have stable temp. I have an 06 Azera and that car seems to be a lot more stable when I really look closely at the OBD temp reading. But at least I remedied the needle jumping with the grounding kits.
I finally had a chance to check the temp in my Sedona & I was surprised. Around town, the temp gauge shows about an 1/8th under half & I checked the actual temp on my OBD & it’s 198, maybe 195avg. Hope this helps!
Hello there! Thanks for the reply - I am sure our different weather conditions will affect the numbers, but I finally was able to get some numbers after latest coolant flush - I guess this car just runs a little bit hotter than m y other 2 Azeras - It will run about 201-210 at the harshest condition (AC full blast, 100 + degrees out etc...) I think that still a little bit hot but at this point I think I can live with it being cooler weather is coming.
My 2004 kia sorento with 2.5crdi engine will not get to the halfway point on the temperature gauge. It seems like it is running too cool, I have changed the thermostat for a new one, but still the same problem. Performance seems fine and no loss of coolant. I don't think it is an air lock in the cooling system because I have squeezed the hoses and took the coolant tank cap off to purge any trapped air.
@@thejoki04 Thanks for prompt reply my fellow Kia owner and nice video btw. Yeah I am definitely lucky because it isn't really a big issue. Takes a little longer for the interior heater to get warm and possibly uses a little more fuel, but it's running like a champ. Apparently the Ecu tells the injectors to inject more fuel if it believes the engine to be cold, so maybe I am even getting a little more power too. Cheers.
@@99ron30 I have the same problem on my wife's Sedona It doesn't warm up to the halfway point and I was thinking of changing the thermostat but I see your comment and is the same problem so no need to spend for a thermostat
I can’t find one either, strange. I do not have the van anymore, but just follow the top radiator hose back to the first housing & it should be in there.
yeah , i am thinking those wires in mine are messed up. replaced the thermostat in July, now again in January same year. i have never had one need that. turns out it;s still got a problem but it's a tad different. so i was thinking, those wires must be grounding to something somewhere . the temp gauge is flying to the top and coming back down., weird thing though, before this new thermostat, the hoses would be solid when it was reading hot like the thermostat was closed still. Now the the hoses seem relaxed like alls well and circulating and although the fans are both on and it's winter ( 30 degrees outside or lower) seems to be running well. well, completely unrelated to this problem ( I think) i have to put a new clutch in this damned thing now. GRRR! i am going to go pull that plug and see what happens.
Wow! Sounds like you’re having a lot of fun with yours! Sorry to hear that. I would assume that changing the coolant temp sensor should clear up a lot of issues; hope it’s not grounding somewhere!

Happy to help!
Thanks I haven't start working on my wife van but this help a lot to begin. She told me the van overheated so again thanks
My pleasure!

Absolutely my pleasure!
thanks! been looking for it forever
Thanks for the directions!
Is this the same engine with 2008 Hyundai azera 3.3 ? Is this engine in the video is 3.3 ?
No, sorry, this is the 3.8L V6. See my other video for more info.

I remember mine seemingly running cooler also. I’d say if it’s running good then you’re one of the lucky ones & to keep rolling!

Is this censor notorious for leaking when bad
I am not sure about that, sorry.
Thank you. Had to change the sensor in my Hyundai Entourage and couldn't figure out where it was. Maybe time to buy a service manual.
B. Golden, I noticed my temperature gauge in the dash was working at first, but then it would stay lower & my fans would kick on.
I cant find a thermostat video anywhere

@@thejoki04 i already changed it. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It fixed the problem.
Great!
