To everybody wondering if they died. I'll attempt to put your mind at ease by reminding you that zombies can't open doors.

the infection didnt mutate. they took a mutagen and became un-immune.
They didn't become un-immune there body wasn't killing the virus it was only suppressing it so they could off mutated at any moment

Why does everyone think Purna was the one who was infected just because she had a headache? They all had the virus inside them and it mutated. They went through the old Japanese war bunkers and there were deadly chemicals that made the virus inside them mutate. So they were all infected, it just slowly mutated and near the end, they all turned and killed the survivors.

no, the doctors its still ok if they inhale the fumes but touching the "pure" chemicals will cause a mutation... the mutagen that they inject themselves is already tampered with it like antidote + chemicals.
What I'm guessing is that they ditched the boat and went somewhere else and someone turned so they locked them in the hatch

This is what happened. They were drifting at sea for 6 days. If they had enough food, they either mutated in their sleep and went ape-sh*t on the ones who didn't mutate yet. Or they all starved and mutated because they died and changed into a zombie finally. Either way... they turned into full on zombie. Now they landed on that new island. Thus brings a new place to infect. Which leads to dead island 2.

the way I see it there is going to be new characters in DI2 regardless if our main ones died or not. They were located on island that were off the coast of what I can tell, Australia, so if their boat, a sail boat keep in mind, was sailing for 6 days it would not make it to California's coast in 6 days. They are most likely on a island that is still near Australia

great, so you beat the game only to find out they all mutated into infected and came ashore having a little mutant orgy in the bottom of the boat and then probably came out and spread the infection to wherever the hell they washed up at? fuck me, that's a shitty ending -__- oh something else, i remember harlow calling me an "angel of death", who else thinks it would be badass if right at the end when the hatch door knob turns if angel of death by slayer started playing? haha
I think the end of riptide might have been toward dying light, due to the fact that on the dead island 2 trailer the person from the cut seen at the end is not character if i remember correctly, and why does Serpo die after only one hit from a walker if u can take like 60 hits if u level all the characters skill trees right. Plus if u look closely and pay attention, the music is from Sam-b and they were on the boat the whole time/ Think they might not be zombies in the boat. Zombies cant turn handles They might just be in the permanent rage mode if they are not totally insane. If i said any thing wrong correct me. Also unrelated note. If u want dying light on the Xbox 360 just turn down the graphic sensitivity. It should work then.
I found it funny when (if you're playing as john) you say there are only 5 immune after you reach the camp and defend it from the zombies (after you set up the fences) and if you look at Harlow's leg she clearly has a bite. You play the game in THEIR time for like 3 weeks total. AT MINIMUM! Harlow would have turned. If you didn't notice then you must be slow to catch onto stuff. Sorry but there are a lot of stuff people never catch in games that are LITERALLY right in front of you.
Also some of the new dead island characters look like they are from the 2014 Lara Croft Game (Tomb Raider) and that was a rip off. I hate it when I'm the only person who notices stuff. Does anyone else notice the small stuff.

either they died or turned into zombies but they could have also survived and jumped off the boat and trapped the other people in the boat because in dead island 1 they can't get infected buy the zombies

Guys they turned into zombies remember in chapter 5 the sciencents tell you that exposure to chemicals will make you loose your immunity so when they took the mutagen it made them loose there immunity to the zombie virus that's why you hear zombies in the boat at the end of the game
Since dead island 2 is taking years to come out, the least they could do is have some involvement with the original 4 main characters. Because in the end of this they aren't zombies, they're still human but mutated to hell like Harlow was. They could be the cause for the zombies in dead island 2, if the damn game ever comes out.

Donovan McKenzie it was also made about three years ago so benefit of the doubt but I played both games and the gameplay was good enough for me to play through it at least one time per character
I should clarified. The build of the game looks awful, but I wasn't commenting on the gameplay, but the build of the game, which I'm including graphics, movements, and animations looks like stuff that was being released well over 10 years ago.

Considering the year it came out... it looks great. Saying it looks like it was released well over a decade ago is a ridiculous hyperbole. Halo 2 came out 12 years ago. That game looked amazing for its time, its definitely dated now. Dead Island came out 5 years ago, and is definitely in the upper end of the CG curve when it comes to its graphics and mocap for AAA games of that era.

I remember as if it was yesterday downloading definitive edition. At age 12 playing a videogame that included zombies, cars and weapons also that exiting horror feel it had to it, was the best feeling I've had playing a horror videogame besides outlast. Thinking back so many things have changed since then. We be here in 2020 and all those years of playing this game might come to use. Let's see if the zeds demise is effective as it is in game than real life.

If listen very carefully you can hear a zombie growl when the latch starts to open so they are either dead an became zombies that's a different boat or some zombies got washed onto the boat an they got off but before they did they put them in that small area of the boat

They had the infection all along and the player took the mutagen and it comes up as all of them as a group in each cut scene so they move as one act as one so they all took the mutagen but thats why they went into fury mode because it started to f**k with their bodies and thats the reason y plus zombies cant open handles anyways
Exactly/ ZOMBIES CANT OPEN HANDLES/ I think it means that something was on the boat with them but they got in the hatch, when they exited they never realized that the zombie was with them thus putting zombies on another island.

It's just a warning telling you you can't go back once you climb the boat, in case you just want to keep playing.
I think they were hanging out down there and one of them turned and killed all of them so the one who killed them can never be stopped because she or he took that thing so it's never going to END

So let me get this right, maybe on the boat they all went into the inside of the boat for sleep or whatever. Then there boat shows up calmly at a dock with no damage, the place is clear of zombies, but the main characters became zombies, and are awaiting for someone to open the latch on the door. And because of this stupid ass ending, we see dead island 2, correct.
Crappy ending for a very long and frustrating game, the scenery and the girl were pretty but still 3/5.

ok first y were ther all in the boat and not outside have they been supposably zombies for longer than we think and the didnt know how to open doors until the hit the island y wud all of them be in ther wouldnt some be outside if anything i think that one of the survivers tht are no immune were in there and that others found a way to ditch the boat if they were infected wouldnt the door had been open already y is it that as soon as the get there they open the door but not before
its kinda stupid no one asked about her, the last you hear of her is that she was transported to a facility and that was like near the beginning of the game and then nothing else was asked about her, no one questioned even further about her, its like she was completely forgotten about. but hopefully the dlc about her is made and what she did after the beginning. If its not made then the makers of the game just completely wrote her off.
