The actual phenomenon is referred to as heteropaternal superfecundation, and while I won't go into detail, I will say there's only 19 cases of it reported worldwide, so I guess we just encountered one...

The way the twins ended up with the adopted black mother and the white dad at the end actually looks more natural because it literally looks like they’re all biologically related where one daughter took after the mom and the other daughter took after the dad. Even tho the adopted mom in this story isn’t the biological mom, in most real life cases with bi-racial twins where one looks white and the other looks black, they usually have a black mother.
