Glad to see you working through the Bond films. This is such a good one!

Trivia: Bond's quip “I’d say one of their aircraft is missing” after dispatching the helicopter is a reference to an old 1942 British war film "One of Our Aircraft Is Missing". Not the best of Bond quips granted, especially with younger audiences but the original 1942 film title the quip references has nonetheless been popular in giving rise to several other films or TV show episodes which paraphrase the original 1942 film title such as "One of Our Spies Is Missing" (1966) - A Man From U.N.C.L.E. film, or "One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing," (1975) and many others.

Not just my favourite James Bond movie but my favourite spy thriller movie. The filmmaking was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock and it shows. The quips make sense and aren't ridiculous or out of control, and the story seems to exist in something of a real world. I see The Living Daylights as an 80s version of this. There's a real sense of death in this movie, and for people who say James Bond can't die, this movie suggests otherwise. The first few movies give you the sense that Bond could die at the end and it could be the last one. They abandoned that completely after Thunderball. I also like that you almost feel immersed in the web of spies and the Cold War. "They follow us, we follow them." A Bond film that actually has storytelling and somewhat real world information in it. Imagine that.

By the way, Dean and Hendo, I've started reading the Bond novels, and they're very interesting if you wanted to give them a go.

A lot of 00 agents, I recall, are present at a briefing regarding the two stolen NATO atomic bombs in Thunderball, and 003's frozen corpse is featured in the beginning of A View to a Kill.

And if you want to be technical, then I guess Nomi as the new 007 in No Time to Die counts too.

Just realised too that the killed MI6 agent in the pre-title sequence in The Living Daylights was 004.

Great reaction! Dr. Julius No’s SPECTRE number is classified. I thought he was maybe number 4, but that distinction goes to an unnamed operative in Blofeld's volcano lair for “You Only Live Twice.” Maybe Dr. No was 4 and then replaced after his swimming pool reactor death? Looking forward to the rest of the reactions! Take care, gentlemen!

If you had and you had OG Connery Bond as a role model, your life might've turned out different. There's still hope.

I always thought the fight on the train was great but I don't know if they would have been able to do as well as they did in a room full of teargas.

The spring of 1964 was when this was released in the States. Imagine being a 14 year old boy. Me and my friends saw this three or four times in the ONE theater it played in Denver, Colorado. Fourteen year old boys and James Bond double entendres. What a great summer that was! 😎 (Still one of my most favorite Bond films.)

John Barry and Monty Norman went to court three times over authorship of the James Bond theme. Norman won all three times

Most of the last crusade had many Easter eggs to this particular Bond film as Spielberg was a big fan.

@TheMovieJourney I think you guys and us as well will love it if you guys can make a 30 minute video of the other Bond movies. You dont have to reshoot it, maybe edit a longer video from the original tapes.

Great reaction! i know i am in the minority, but apart from all of the Daniel Craig films this is just personally my least favourite of the series.
