Phew!! This is the 1 thing I'm doing right in my running! 😆 I get bored easily, so the thought of running the same route more than twice in a row fills me with dread! Same with strength exercises... if I had to do the exact same exercises every time, I'd never do them. I've got a list of exercises and routes, and do whatever fits my available time and mood.
@@Fucev As someone who used to do power lifting, and loves ALL exercise, sure they're fun. But that's just it, there's so many options out there, NO exercise is fun for me when done every day- not squatting, not even running!
Awesome! This is great advice. I have turned to looser more varied terrain (trails/snow) to introduce micro variations to my body to be repetition down
I couldn’t agree more on how varying terrain, speed, shoes and races contribute to avoiding injury. I would add that the one thing you shouldn’t vary too much is mileage volume. I have been injury-free for 5 years (now age 62) while running over 2000 miles each year, including many races and marathons. I keep running a fairly consistent volume week over week, but I enjoy mixing up all the other items like terrain, speed, routes, and shoes.
Coach, I've been running more and learning more about running recently. I've heard that shoes with less drop encourage better form and that you should generally have shoes with one drop height at a time. You talked about having shoes with different drop heights that you rotate through. Have you found there to be a range that is ok to use simaltaniously? And have you seen anything to suggest that less drop is better, or was that more of a fad?
Love this!! I forget about the 5k and working on speed. I need to work on that more! And, I knew I needed more running shoes!!! 😆 my husband doesn’t believe me 😂🤣
Funny. At the exact same time you posted this vid I was on a sixteen miler, contemplating how my right ship's been sore for the umpteenth run in a row and how I really ought to do a bit more cycling for a wee little while, just to maintain fitness while giving my hip a little rest. You've godda use little workarounds sometimes cos injury time means down time, and that means a loss of hard won fitness.

My biggest mileage weeks have been done when running a lot of orienteering! Very varied footing

Any tips on how to recover from a Stress Fracture other than don’t run, instead I have been on a bike, an elliptical and lifting weights.
Unfortunately, not much helps cure a stress fracture except time. That bone has got to heal!

So great to see Riga in your video (08:10)! 🇱🇻
Nice thanks for information
