  • God is speaking, working, faithful, and commanding. Are you listening, noticing, trusting, and obeying? In this sermon from 1 Kings 18:1-19, Pastor Mark asks a series of questions to show how we can stand against the Ahab and Jezebel spirits in our day just like Elijah stood against Ahab and Jezebel themselves.

    Dude preaches like a man hammering nails in wood. Why? Because he’s building something.
    Thanks for this series Mark. It’s been a blessing. So many need to hear this.

    Mark Driscoll not having a mega church anymore is the best thing to happen to him. God is good because look who he is now. Preaching with true power and authority and moves in the Spirit. He always had the anointing no doubt, but now he is overflowing with oil.

    This series is changing my life! My mom is an Ahab and my 2 older sisters are Jezebels. They say they believe in Jesus but then mock me for praying and told me to stop hiding behind Jesus and the Bible. There daughters are also Jezebels but are into demon worship and witchcraft. My mom is so lost that she believes the lies they are saying about me and gossips with them but won't talk to me about how I feel. They all hate me and when I said something to my mom she said I'm sorry you hate the family. I love them which is why I was trying to tell them the truth, I want the best for them. They have so much hate and anger towards me. My mom is too passive and my other siblings are also Ahabs they won't stand up to the Jezebels. I used to be an Ahab but I have been changing into an Elijah, thank God! After getting a degree in environmental science I got Lyme disease and couldn't do much of anything so I started reading the Bible and it has changed me. I no longer fear man but fear God. And the world has told me that I am wrong and I was really depressed and anxious because I started to believe it. But you are teaching me that I am not wrong they are. I am doing what God intended and they are following demons. Thank you so much pastor Mark! May God bless you and your family beyond measure!

      Ooo see Messiah 2030.
      The 1 year to 1000 is the same as 1000 to 1.
      All the same and proves it in prophecy plus the true Sabbath is established.
      Age of grace has zero to do with the 10 commandments. They were not voided cause Jesus is the law. He is the Sabbath. Said so.
      & rome just took the 4th commandment out and it said Remember the sabbath and keep it HOLY & ppl forgot anyway.
      If one gets thrown out the other nine may as well go also. Pretty much have actually. Ppl have idols.
      Ppl don't really get along with neighbors in love.
      Love brother as thyself?
      A lot of self love I see or self loathing.
      To be offended is now considered self love and that's totally perverted.
      Talking about evil twisting a truth.
      Anyway the 1st 19 minutes is awesome & totally explains it. The rest of Messiah 2030 is just as good btw.
      Happy learning trails.

For 22 years ive been passive, never once stood up for myself, and ive cowered hoping things would just change for me. Im ready to be Elijah. Im ready to change, be assertive, and not let people walk on me anymore.

    Prayed this morning and asked God to PLEASE send me the correct message. I have listened to this whole series but since this one popped up first I decided to just listen again instead of hunting a new one. This was exactly my “word”!!! Thank you so much for being the vessel God just used to send me my comfort and direction for this time in my life and in our countries present catastrophe…..God is wonderful and you are an amazing messenger of His! Just wanted you to know your online ministry is working for us here in Alabama. Got a lot of Christian friends that are having to bail on their evil churches and we are all floundering a little right now. You have become our pastor!!! Also, my husband just told a new friend of ours in GA about how much he enjoys your messages so now you have several members in GA also!!! Bless you and your amazing ministry! Thank you also for giving us God’s directions in this crazy time.

I havent done Elijah...again Wow...I hear the Holy Spirit thru your teachings...i have listened to many different preachers...i find God has shown me thru the years false and Holy Spirit driven ministers...there are certain Ministries i listen to and you now are one...Bless your anointing...i never quite understood what anointing meant because my church does not teach about it..actually it doesnt teach about a lot of chrismatic things but i study outside of it and get a more round Christian outlook...and isnt that what we are suppose to do...I figure God leads me where I'm suppose to go when he deems I'm ready to move into that direction...and your on my radar now!!!

    Hello Pastor Mark, Many Blessings. I have such a strong sense. I just know and within the last year I have been getting very close to God and having two out of body experiences just reinforces my belief. Nurses jaws dropped after I had what they were doing while I was under anesthesia. I saw a lot of what they were doing and I asked why they doing certain things like one nurse was squeezing the blood bag and the other nurse was was squeezing the clear bag. This is one of a few times It's happened to me. I have no doubt Jesus answers our prayers in his own time. All Praises are to my Lord and savior. Thank you and I have no doubt you are blessed.

    Where in the Bible does it say that God told John the Baptist to confront Herod? Normally People of that day simply did not address leaders, religious or otherwise, in this manner for fear of punishment. But John’s faith made him fearless in the face of opposition.
    I was told that John the Baptist approached Herod on his own accord and that's when he stepped out of the will of God and later was beheaded

    Pastor Driscoll this series thus far has been powerful and much needed for the times we live in. One question, I heard you refer to the Yellowstone series, you referenced a character in making a comparison. I tried watching one episode and less than 5 minutes ran from it due to violence and vulgar language. My question, because I don’t want to assume, is do you watch the series? As leaders, and I have heard you do so, we encourage those around us to be very aware of what we are putting in our minds, ears, eyes and hearts. Thank you for your response and
    For letting God interrupt your vacation for this word.

  • @DogOneIsOpen
    @DogOneIsOpen ปีที่แล้ว +90

    I’ve appreciated a lot in this series but there’s a big hole in the advice given here: Few Pastors, elders, etc are willing to suggest to men that a certain point they must separate or divorce from these women. “Tough” pastors such as Mark easily call some men Ahabs (and some are) but I’d argue that there are a fair number of men out there who have held the line against their Jezebel wife in a mostly Godly manner (best as can be done under the circumstance), but instead of repentance and Godly submission, turns up the Jezebel meter to 11. She publicly shames her husband and church elders, uses the children as weapons against her husband, threatens divorce or even legal charges. Pastors, seeing this from the outside automatically think the husband isn’t trying hard enough or is too passive, and might even suggest he’s an Ahab. I think it’s time for pastors to preach from the pulpit that as hard as it may be for these husbands, they need to divorce those wives who are very much acting like unbelievers. These women should fall under the category of unbelieving spouse who seeks to leave. She should be “let go” even if the man is initiating the paperwork. She may not want to file herself out of respect of her own public image, but in her fury will try and push her husband out or cause him to stumble so she can get a good enough excuse that she can share with everyone. Only when Christian men are armed with this as an option will they be able to stand fully in the face of Jezebel. Otherwise, they are completely out of options other than “speaking the truth in love” or trying some toothless bad cop routine. These husbands must be prepared for her to take money and time with the children. But until some women know they can’t use manipulation and leverage to try to control their husbands ease their fear and pain, these women WONT STOP. Women know government and social power is now stacked in their favor.

Told so many lies so that her family and our friends took her side. Truth came out when she got a divorce in less than 3 months and was remarried less than 2 months after the divorce. Turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me, but I wouldn't wish that on anybody else.

      Wow, that is Alot of insight. I believe that Men more than ever need to connect with healthy/mature (SS) Support Systems, to help them brain Storm. In the Pro. It speaks about In the multitude of Counselors there is strength, to make PEACE, and assurtive resolves, or if necessary make war. Men need to connect and take action. You sound like a Man who has been through some of this stuff personally. It would be good for men like you to go through courses together, bond in the Lord helping them to work out and work in things with the help of God. Mentoring types of things. Having an older mentor, walk along side, iron sharpens iron. And mentoring young Christian, maybe even coaching, YMCA Camps, businesses, supervisors, etc. I hope that resonates to you, and helps you to take action.

    • @nickzucc
      @nickzucc ปีที่แล้ว +16

      So here is what I was hoping would be talked about or there could be a follow up. What if, just as you proposed as the man you have stepped up, you are doing EVERYTHING you can to keep peace, going to individual counseling, couples counseling meeting with the pastor on the regular, and the woman has no quit. I wondered why that was, but we were fighting against a spirit that doesn’t quit and doesn’t rest. I had no idea what NPD was until this happened to me, I even brought it to the church and the only advice was to “stay in the fight” “don’t file” and because of this I let the demon back into my life and she tried to complete destroy me this last time before the final discard. If you know the stages of NPD you know the cycles I speak of. I have looked extensively about the grounds of divorce, and there are only 2 sound ones, adultery and abandonment by a non believer. But it isn’t quite clear on chronic physical, mental or emotional abuse. What about this case? If the Pastor of this video is listening, now what? What do you do for the man that has stepped up and tried everything? In my case the person abandoned and immediately started a new relationship so I had biblical grounds for divorce, but some people are stuck in these demonic relationships for 10-20 years. Pure hell. This is NOT Gods design for us.
      We need clarity on this issue. I can see that NPD is on the rise, blame it on society if you will but this Spirit of Jezebel is loose and is gaining power. What is the answer for us who are trying for God? In many cases, and this happened to me, the relationship and the person became an idol. All their needs and the stress of the relationship came before God. So what is the greater sin? Divorce or Idol worship of your spouse?

    👋👋👋 Well Pastor, Christians are instructed to walk in the Fruit of the Spirit to separate themselves and exemplify their God to the world. Read Galatians 5. ❤️🍎🍓🍒 It seems conservatives will do anything, including twist scripture, to avoid walking in the Fruit of the Spirit. I know its so hard for controlling bro-dudes, driven by their inflated egos and desire for power, to lower themselves and submit to walking in the soft, woke spiritual fruit of LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONG-SUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, and TEMPERANCE, but no one said Christianity was going to be easy, pastor.

    Awesome sermon AMEN Ironic that you speak out against Baal & Asherah, and then you close commenting on easter celebration which is counterfeit holiday mixed with a neo Christian twist (Deut 12:30-31). Our Lord Jesus passed on Passover and resurrected on the Feast of First Fruits. Jesus is Hebrew after all and did not come to abolish the Torah (law) but fill it more fully (fulfilled doesn’t mean finished - Mat 5:17 onwards). His return will be on Feast of Trumpets. There’s nothing wrong with adopting the feast days of the Hebrews as Jesus demonstrated. I pray a few more souls will hear this message and fill their lamps in preparation for our Lord return AMEN

It's also not a prophecy to say that a child will change a man. It's also not prophetic to tell a man he needs to clean himself up when he's been a drug user for 20 years and kept getting drunk multiple times a week.

      I'd like to hear what your concerns are because I'm trying to believe that this is just a bad series and he's exhausted from campus construction projects and just needs to be told to take some time off, but something has felt very wrong in every sermon this whole series and I hadn't felt that way in previous series.

      God must want you at the corporate job for some reason. It’s up to you to find out what that is. Don’t compare yourself to others. He will get his. Don’t worry. His wife has no obligation to stay with him if he’s cheating, and she is entitled to half of all the marital assets, which could include his business.

      Why are you looking at others and comparing? The Bible says there is a time and season for everything. There is a season for plenty and a season of lack. Where is your heart in all of this? Are you only being good in your eyes because you are looking to God to bless you? Or are you serving God because you love Him and Him alone and you are choosing to see Him as your everything regardless? Get your priorities straight, focus, and choose to serve, praise, and worship God from a pure place with a pure heart and right spirit.

      I pray your strength in the Lord. I pray that YOU choose to grow in God's discernment, love, wisdom, insight, relationship, perspective, patience, grace, mercy, and strength IN JESUS' NAME. Now choose to fast and pray as a way to get close to the Lord, and so you can get to know and understand HIM for yourself. NOT just because you are trying to get things out of HIM and from HIM. God truly does love and care about you AND SO DO I. Besides, this is more about your salvation and your soul and where you will be for eternity. This life, as we know it, is VERY temporary. So we shouldn't be consumed with or by these things. That's why the Bible tells us not to be fixated on the things that are temporal.

After listening to several of these sermons I have realized that the rebellious nature I had most of my life was not just “me” but it explains how my father was (controlling, dominating,demanding ) and my grandmother (his mom) also very dominant and controlling, she even said that because of the way her dad was, she decided she wasn’t ever going to let a man tell her what to do…I don’t know how many generations deep it runs, but it’s definitely not a coincidence to me now. And my grandfather (paternal)was and Ahab, even though he was military, my mother is an Ahab/jezebel, (passive aggressive/ gossip) and both of her parents are/were Ahab/jezebel (passive aggressive, and somehow condescending)

    Why is it that I need you, Pastor Mark, to know what your god is saying or commanding? 1 Kings 18:1-19 doesn't say anything about standing against spirits, does it? Wouldn't 1 King 18:33-38 attract many more followers and prove skeptics wrong? Why won't you show us that challenge?

    • @bufficliff8978
      @bufficliff8978 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That story will be told in 2 weeks (the week after Easter). He's going through Elijah's whole story bit-by-bit.
      I'm not a fan of his overuse of nonspecific "spirit" terms in this series, but in English saying "a spirit of fear" is generically understood to mean having an overwhelming sense of fear, crippling fear, fear that routinely prevents you from doing what you know you should do. It's imagined that there could be demons who's whole purpose is to make people afraid and cowardly in crucial moments, but most people try to not speculate too deeply on the jobs of demons and angels if such things aren't described in the Bible. Since we know faith is of God and fear is not faith then we can deduce that fear of obeying God is either born of our human brokenness or encouraged by demons.
      So Mark expressing "fear" as a spirit has a reasonable English background and a reasonable deduction of demonic influence.
      If you just want to hear the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal just type that into the yt search bar, but pulling out random Bible stories isn't what Mark does. Mark goes through whole books or full lives of people or full sections. The only one-offs he does that people expect are on/for Christian Holy days like this upcoming Sunday Easter.
      A denomination called Calvary Chapel does the same thing: preach through whole books of the Bible--not topic based or pulling a single story out of its context. In that style there was a husband and wife who gave their lives to Christ after hearing a sermon out of Leviticus about ceremonial washing.
      2 Timothy 3:16-17
      "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
      EVERY scripture and story is right for preaching and teaching. It's proper for every part of Elijah's story to be preached.
      You don't have to listen to Mark. The point of listening online is to learn more, so if there's a personality clash or a style clash that prevents you from learning then listen to people who's format you understand so you can focus on learning rather than being thrown off by format.
      Maybe sermons aren't the spot for you to learn right now. Maybe apologetics about spiritual reality is a better place for you right now.
      I personally haven't liked this whole series, but him going through whole books or whole biblical accounts is what he does, and that's good to do, and there's a reason for calling fear a spirit even if I don't care for how he's over-applying "spirit" in this series.
