Gateway has been majorly overhauled and polished. It's on an entirely new level with how nice everything looks and performance is significantly better than our last time exploring Gateway nearly a year ago. There's been a lot of smaller updates too like directional attacks, Stamina was changed and AI was also changed though keep in mind this isn't the final product! I can't say much right now but i stick by saying this feels like a partial embargo lift, What you're seeing here scratches the surface of what we were actually seeing but i can't go into detail. I’m really excited for the migration system it gonna really help from there being hot spots and the map and everyone has to keep moving to get certain diets and not just stay in one place
Unless they improve the core gameplay loop, players will just end up creating a new centre PvP zone regardless, it will just be easier to grow before you PvP now. You underestimate the power of bored individuals who don't know what else to do.
@@dylancrosby2451 argue against that considering Herbivore players will likely be moving around. Maybe Carnivores would find a spot buuuuuuuut, why would then when the people to fight and hunt are else where? And you for the most part know where they are likely going. People were bored because they could sit in a spot and not need to leave to keep up the diets. Now night will be more dangerous with Dilo getting closer to release, Herrera is coming to the game so it'll be doing more. There's likely going to be a lot more player movement and maybe a little less boredom. The game play loop has indeed been altered. It'll drastically alter once Elder is a thing because at that point You're on a time crunch. Spiro sucks, Gateway has a lot more to it to keep the loop a bit more interesting.
@@Frostbyte115 herbivore players rarely existed or engaged in pvp without a stego regardless, so that argument is kind of irrelevant. The people to fight arent elsewhere because once everyone gets bored and is fully grown, they would all congregate to an area that they know will have pvp, this won't happen until people are more familiar with the map though. Maintaining diets doesn't matter when you are fully grown and with enough people dying, you will have food. I don't know enough about how elders work, but I believe they get weaker as they go on? So this is even more reason to seek out pvp quickly at a place with guaranteed pvp. I would agree that you will have less concentrated pvp, especially at the start when no one knows the map, but as time goes on and people get bored, I guarantuee there will be another "centre", because walking around looking for ai and dead bodies, is incredibly boring once you've done it a couple of times. People play the isle because you get to fight player dinos as other player dinos, this will literally never change and gamers will find a way to optimise this, they optimise everything.
Herrera might actually be a really scary dino simply because most players dont bother to look up. Makes it easy to get the jump on unsuspecting dino. Would hate to see what a small pack can do lol.
There are going to be so many jump scares XD. The Herrera and dilo are terrifying. The Herrera because I checked a few times and couldn't see it when you were fighting off the flappy Bois, so that is some extreme stealth. And the dilo because it not only sounds terrifying, especially at night, but because it's venom is also terrifying and will really mess with your brain. 22:08 also that looks like the place where kong fought the adult skill crawler on skull island. I'm not even joking, just add a ship and some other stuff and it would basically be a replica.
5:55 i actually saw things through that ceras perspective and wondered what was up with that adult raptor. Now that i know its you, things suddenly add up
as a herbi main. i *hate* when herbi players body guard. its just being an ass no matter the angle you look at it. its like a carni guarding bushes/trees. there's no point other than being an ass
The best way in-game to prevent that from happening is probably giving the herbis a debuff if they stick around a big corpse (not compy or the flying scavengers) for too long. But then there will be so much room for carnivore players to abuse it, I don’t even know what other solution there could be.
It's been a really long time since I've been excited for the isle. It was before isle legacy was last updated atleast. Seeing your excitement for the isle too ant is amazing. I miss this game, and seeing the new map and I just caught up on all the isle evrima vids I've missed and the game looks like it's shaping up to be something really special again. I was watching Ur ASA playthrough not too long ago, and in the second episode you mentioned playing as the deinosuchus in this game, so I decided to check out how this looked and I cannot thank you enough, because as cool as it is to survive with dinosaurs, i LOVE the idea of playing as a Dino You got an epic channel man
this map is staggeringly amazing looking. i cannot wait for migration, weather, sticky moss, deep waters, logs and growth in the waters, i can't wait for it all. so hyped.
this gives me renewed hope for the game. it has much more life and character than the current map. makes me miss legacy so much more, but cant wait to see this finished
So the Gateway map is currently only accesible to The Isle's stress testers, which is a chosen team of the game's community members who help test updates for the game before updates are released in order to make sure everything works well. Stress testing for Gateway has been going on for about a month or more, but the testers were not allowed to show any gameplay or footage. The developers just lifted the embargo of the stress testing a few days ago, so now players are allowed to stream and share certain footage and gameplay of Gateway. Some youtubers were also given special permission to show footage from the stress testing, most likely to help hype up the community and share upcoming news about the next update. The update is potentially coming out very soon, like within a week or at least by the end of the year, but the developers have said that they will just release the map, new dinosaurs, and other mechanics whenever they are fully ready. Evrima's map design has always been top notch and it's just getting better but it was still always missing something. The weather system is the missing piece and completes everything perfectly. Can you just imagine creeping to the edge of a forest through the bushes, the rain pelting down and just peeking out at a clearing at a bunch of herbi's. The migration system is also a much needed boost for herbi's and carni's as well honestly. The maps have always been huge but don't really feel alive. Having herbi's romaing and migrating gives a purpose to their end game beyond nesting. This automatically plays into carni's as well. There were ALWAYS safe areas to grow and live, now, with everyone roaming, nothing is guaranteed. Servers are going to feel alive and I can't wait for this update.
I 100% want climate changes to the game. It's one reason I love playing Legacy bc at any given moment it could rain and it pretty much changes everything for you
this update will change evvvvverything. Even the last 4 dinosaurs that came out brought me back to the game, but I played for 1 month and left the game again because it was still so lifeless. But with this update, I think I'll be playing The Isle again for years...

Biggest update ever. I think it's going to bring all the backward players back into the game. Even though I liked the evrima, I couldn't connect to the game because I found the old map spiro too lifeless and empty. But with this update, it will turn into a game that I will play again for years to !
I still really hope they change the smelling system to be a bit more vague. Instead of symbols, clouds of colors floating around on the bar so its harder to pinpoint them. Im kinda tired of large carnis showing up at my food with pinpoint precision.
im tempted to get this game now since been watching alot of videos of this game and i like dinos and this looks very fun and challanging to survive from others etc
not sure if anyone remembers but didn't the devs at one point say that the game may become more of a horror survival game, i only bring that up cause its really getting to that point if not past that with the new graphics at least at night it is, if they bring in stuff like the type H then it will really be a survival horror game and in my opinion one of the best

11:32 yep, totaly AAA. They increased from what i played some years ago to this wich is astonishing. Most never thought this posible (also, the grappled animation of the rex? Will we get a proper DC2 Giga at last (could very well be the Hypo OR another growth state like "elder" so your basicaly manhandling a full grown rex with ease)
