    Thank you for not simplifying it into an easier arrangement like most tutorials do, it's always so much more enjoyable to play when you retain the complexity of the song as it was played on the original record! Big fan of your channel and your lessons, hope to see more of your tutorials for other covers you've uploaded in the near future! :)

      That's a very nice compliment! Thank you for it. There's a dilemma which I understand: it's good to make the music accessible, but on the other hand, Brian Wilson's music is detailed, subtle, and not always accessible by nature.

    You have picked a fantastic song to help people like myself . Your diligence in showing every move of your fingers is fantastic. I have tried so many times to follow what people have tried to show without luck . Thank you for showing real patience in teaching.

    Thanks for this. The other tutorials definitely don’t have the insanely complex lower parts. I’ve played piano by ear for almost 30 years. Always wanted to learn this song. Thank you

    Great video 👍👍👍
    I’m sure many wud agree... the “line cliche” in the second half of each verse, culminating in the A# half dim & A, is a def a harmonic high point.., so gorgeous.

    This is fantastic. I have a great ear for learning, but I am traditionally a vocalist and string player. I would never have been close on this. Copping the feel won’t work on this. I appreciate that you take the time to explain the chords rather than just show the motion. All or nothing. I should have this down in ten years (lol). Thank you kindly. Jefrey

      This is such a lovely compliment, clearly coming from an experienced and knowledgable musician! Thanks so much for listening and commenting. Good luck practicing this - and I well know how tough it is trying to learn and play while not utilizing one's primary instrument. Let's just say it's a very, very good thing I'm not making any guitar videos and tutorials, LOL!

      It's a tricky balance with songs by Brian Wilson, because you risk alienating people who shy away from tricky chords and/or wide thumb-to-pinky spans. But I, for one, am fascinated by playing as close as I can to what the original musicians did on the record. Thanks for the compliment!

    Hi Devin! Any chance you’ve written a score for this? Or put this to sheet music? I’m not sure how to ask this question properly. Thanks very much!

    • @seerup101
      @seerup101  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! Long story, but here's the short version: many years ago, I made a Finale score for every Pet Sounds track and a few SMiLE ones as well. Unfortunately, my hard drive crashed over a decade ago and it wasn't backed up. Since then, I've never found the time or will to recreate my Pet Sounds scores; it's whatever is left in my head (and in my videos) at this point, sadly. Better than nothing , I guess. Sorry.

      @@seerup101 Wow that really sucks. I’m sorry that happened. That’s painful just thinking about it. And to be honest, my emotional condition is now worse off than it was before since I now know that there actually was once such a score in existence, and that in addition to still not having the sheet music, I now feel the pain of the loss of it. Hopefully some music instructor or whoever will take pity on us and will see an opportunity for an extra credit assignment. I’d give the student community service hours too, as far as I’m concerned.

    • @seerup101
      @seerup101  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm so sorry, I only meant to paint the full picture, not to make you feel worse! To clarify, it's not an utter impossibility that I might manage to "resurrect" the scores someday from scratch, but it would be a lengthy undertaking, and my life doesn't right now have room for that project for a couple of disparate personal reasons. But that's not to say it won't forever. Chin up! And thanks for watching and appreciating the videos! And thanks for caring about my sob story of personal disorganization. ;)
